Chapter 38 Annual Salary of Tens of Millions 

Natalie meticulously explained her experiences during the past few months abroad to Bianca. 

As she listened, Bianca couldn’t help but look at Natalie in disbelief. 

Although Bianca was an upstanding lawyer and was often busy, she also liked to read a lot of novels 

during her free time.

“Yeah. The man you saw with me in the news was actually my uncle.” 

“Does Cedric know about this?” 

“If he knew, he probably wouldn’t have tried to hit him back then.” 

“Why didn’t you explain it? Isn’t it bad to leave things this way?” 

“It’s not ideal. But if this misunderstanding can speed up the divorce process, then it’s a good thing. I just didn’t expect… 

Natalie had never anticipated that even after everything that had happened, Cedric would still refuse to divorce her. 

Blanca struggled to digest this sudden revelation. 

It was a truly astonishing turn of events.

She was already upset with Rebecca before this, so she took this chance to express her feelings, “Hah! If Rebecca finds out you’re the heiress of the Regal Horizons International, she’ll probably start treating you with great respect. She’ll surely do everything to get on your good side, even if she doesn’t want to!” 

Natalie was speechless. 

Bianca continued, “We’ve got to rub this in her face! I can’t wait!” 

Bianca really wanted to know what expression Rebecca would make once she discovered that Natalie 

was actually from a wealthy family. 

When Natalie heard this, her face changed. 

“No, don’t say anything. Nobody knows about this. 

“Why not?” 

“Because I don’t want to get involved with them. I don’t care about their reactions; I just want to put an end to all of this quickly. 

Bianca understood her friend’s concerns. 

If Cedric still loved Natalie, her status as someone from the Johnson family would still be useful. 

However, Natalie didn’t even want Cedric anymore now. So, why would she care about what the people from the Johnson family would think? 

I was only joking.” Bianca said. “Don’t take it so seriously. It’s better that you and Cedric part ways. You still don’t have children, and he’s obviously not the one for you. So, this is for the best.” 

It was easier for a couple to separate when they didn’t have children yet. 

But the mention of children made tears well up in Natalie’s eyes,

Now, Bianca had shifted her focus away from Natalie’s personal matters. Natalie was now working with a new lawyer, Clark Yancey. As Bianca was no longer working on Natalie’s divorce case, she could naturally return to work at her law firm. 

News of this switch reached Cedric’s ears the next day. 

On the following aftemoon, Natalie met with Karina in the office the latter had managed to secure. The office was located next to Cedric’s company–Verde Biotech Ventures. 

Cedric’s company occupied the entire building, while Natalie’s only occupied one floor as she was only running a small studio. It wasn’t as extensive as his. 

“I’ve already gotten all the necessary licenses. You have two meetings with clients this afternoon. There’s also another scheduled for tomorrow.” 

“Alright, thank you,” Natalle replied. 

Karina added, “We’ve received quite a few orders. Since our team is just starting to come together, we need time to adjust to the workflow. So, I’ve filtered the orders for you. There’s no need to rush anything

Karina was obviously very capable to have been able to obtain orders so quickly, especially given that she had only arrived two days ago. It also showed that she had done her research before coming here. 

By this point, Natalie’s venture in Verde City was proving smoother than she had initially anticipated. 

That afternoon, Natalie was with Karina as they prepared to meet clients. They left the office building and. 

saw Cedric’s car arriving, with the man stepping out. 

Natalie attempted to avoid Cedric when she saw him approaching, but he had already spotted her. He 

walked toward her with his usual icy demeanor. Even from this distance, Natalie could clearly see the 

gloom in his eyes. 

“Why are you here?” Cedric asked. His tone was far from pleasant. It was undoubtedly due to the recent 

turbulent times. 

Natalie had moved out of Scarlet Villa. Each time Cedric returned to an empty and cold home, his 

frustrations grew. 

“Are you looking for work?” Cedric asked in an increasingly unpleasant tone when Natalie didn’t immediately respond. 

She looked at him and replied, “Yes.” 

With those words, Cedric’s anger rose. He firmly grabbed her wrist and said, “Come with me.” 

He had initially planned to give her time to cool off. But Cedric now understood that the more he space to calm down, the more she acted out. 

At this point, there was no need for her to calm down anymore. 

They needed to have a serious conversation.
