It was clear that he knew about the parcels.
Natalie closed her eyes. She was exhausted, and her patience had run thin.
“Seriously? I reported these people to the police three months ago, and you bailed out those people. Is it my fault that they’re coming after me again?”
“Natalie!”
“Why are you yelling?” Natalie snapped.

“It’s not a time for us to be arguing, okay?” Cedric said. He softened his tone, trying to use another tactic
when he saw how stubborn Natalie was being.
“Just be good, okay? I’ll have Yuvan pick you up. Wear more layers. It’s chilly outside.”
“I’m not at Bianca’s place! I’m working overtime!”
Her words left Cedric momentarily stunned.
Overtime?
At this hour?
On the other end of the phone, Cedric felt a chill running through him..
He hung up and called Yuvan. “Yuvan!”
Those words were laden with suppressed anger.
Yuvan hurried over and reported, “Sir, they are still working overtime downstairs. We just sent back the drafts to be revised again. They need a little more time.”
They were going through a difficult time right now.
However, instead of demanding something related to the drafts, Cedric said, “Find out where she’s
working right now.”
“Are you talking about the young mistress? No one would dare to hire her!”
Yuvan was absolutely certain of that.
They had made it clear.
Employing Natalie at this point would be equivalent to going against Cedric, and no one in Verde City was
that foolish.
The next moment, Cedric’s anger flared as he exclaimed, “She said she’s currently working overtime!”
Yuvan couldn’t believe his ears.

Cedric must have heard wrong, right?
Something was wrong either with their side or with Natalie.
Why on earth would she be working overtime? How could she accept such a thing?
The air around Cedric was cold.

Realizing that the situation was odd, Yuvan quickly said, “I’ll find out immediately who employed her.”

With Yuvan on his way to investigate, Cedric found himself alone in the office. He lit a cigarette, inhaled deeply, and blew out a cloud of smoke.
In the haze, the man appeared even more restless, and his eyes were colder than usual.
Early the following day, Natalie arrived at the doorstep of Apex Global with the drafts she had worked on
for over ten hours.
She had been waiting before work hours even started, so she was freezing by the time the company
opened its doors.
The receptionist recognized her from their previous meeting. She immediately let Natalie in and even
thoughtfully prepared a cup of hot milk for her.
“Have some warm milk to take the chill off,” the receptionist said.
“Thank you.” Natalie was genuinely cold.
Karina had driven her here, but she had some important matters to attend to in the morning, so she took
the car and left.
It had only been half an hour since then, but Natalie was already shivering with cold due to her petite build.
However, it was also because she had always stayed indoors when she was together with Cedric that she was unaware of the seasonal changes in Verde City. In the past, she would just adjust the temperature
She had no idea that winters in Verde City could be this chilly. It seemed she would need to dress more warmly when going out in the future.
“Miss, you didn’t need to come this early. Mr. Frazier usually arrives around nine. He might even be later
than that sometimes!”
Natalie violently coughed as she was drinking the hot milk when she heard this. The remark had caught her off guard, making her choke.
“Are you okay?” The receptionist handed her a tissue while asking in concern.
Natalie replied, “I’m… I’m fine.”
To her understanding, people in charge of entire companies were usually very busy.
For instance, Cedric always left the house before eight in the morning each day. Thus, in the years she spent with him, she had been accustomed to rising early to have breakfast with her husband.
Now, upon learning that the Apex Global CEO wouldn’t arrive until nine or even later, she couldn’t help but
think that women married to Irwin must be very fortunate.
She was truly envious.
Good men like him were always taken, as the saying went.
She initially expected to wait for more than an hour after that discovery. To her surprise, Irwin arrived
sharp at eight–thirty.
The receptionist immediately straightened up upon seeing him. She greeted him respectfully, “Good morning, Mr. Frazier.”
“Hello, Ms. Walker. Why are you here?”
Dylan was accompanying Irwin. When he spotted Natalie, he greeted her warmly.
Natalie stood up, breathing heavily. She quickly composed herself. Dylan’s amiable demeanor comforted her, but Irwin’s icy stare when their eyes happened to meet sent chills down her spine.
Natalie swallowed the words that had been on the tip of her tongue.
Thinking about it again, she couldn’t necessarily be happy with a man like Irwin. He was far too serious, making it difficult to imagine him smiling or even looking happy. She even wondered whether he was just as stern in bed as he was everywhere else.

Her cheeks turned pink.
“Ms. Walker? Ms. Walker!”
“Huh?” Natalie snapped out of her thoughts and saw the receptionist looking at her with concern.
Their CEO was indeed the type of man all women liked. It wasn’t enough that everyone in the company seemed to have their eyes on him, and now it seemed that even people outside the company were drawn
to him.
“Mr. Warren was asking you something,” the receptionist gently probed.
“Oh! Well… We worked late last night and completed an initial draft. We wanted Mr. Frazier to review it so that we can understand your company’s requirements better,” Natalie quickly explained.
She had been worrying about it the entire night, and she stumbled over her words due to the fierce look in
Irwin’s eyes
Dylan glanced at Irwin, who had already entered the elevator. Then, he nodded at Natalie.
“You can come up with me.”
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” Dylan replied.
He led Natalie upstairs. Instead of taking her directly to Irwin’s office, he brought her to a rest area.
“Please wait here for a moment. I’ll go check with Mr. Frazier.”
“Okay.”
After Dylan left, Natalie suddenly realized that her visit was rather abrupt. She just hoped that Irwin would.
