Chapter 59 Unconcerned About Being the Matriarch
If it were up to Stephen himself, he would have retaliated instantly without letting Natalie know about it!
However, Natalie didn’t know that her uncle was currently grooming her to be the successor to Regal
Horizons International!
When he had asked for her opinion, he knew that she wouldn’t readily express her wants. It was a way to train her response and decision–making abilities in this regard.
So, after Stephen found out, he didn’t even bother calling Natalie.
And she had reacted the way Stephen had expected. When the real problem was presented to Natalie,
she didn’t actively seek him out.
“I understand,” Natalie nodded, her tone indifferent.
Karina asked, “So, what do we do now?”
What should they do?
Before, when public opinion was against her for her ruthless treatment of Cedric’s mistress, she had directly exposed the divorce agreement she had signed to turn public opinion around.
Natalie thought for a moment.
She said, “Let’s not do anything for now.”
“What?!”
“Will it affect me?”
“No, it won’t.”
Indeed, it wouldn’t.
Because, at the moment, Natalie was using Stephen’s connections to maintain Auro Studio.
So, if Natalie didn’t take any action, it wouldn’t have any effect.

Sitting in her office, Natalie thought about how she had been driven crazy by these things in her previous

She now realized how foolish she had been back then. Wasn’t it better to sit in her office, make her own
money, and spend it as she pleased?

No, it wasn’t!
The phone rang, and Natalie thought it might be Cedric or Rebecca calling.
After all, every time such a situation occurred, Rebecca would assert her authority as the madam of the Johnson family and give Natalie a piece of her mind.
However, it turned out to be a call from Stephen.
Stephen probably didn’t expect Natalle not to ask for his help, and so..
As her uncle, it would be reasonable for him to check in with her. After all, Natalie had only recently been reunited with her relatives

Natalie answered the phone. “Hello, Uncle.”
“I’ve assigned two bodyguards to you. You should keep them with you when you’re out from now on,”
Stephen said.
Natalie, who had already seen the grandeur of Stephen’s life, felt a headache building.
Before she could protest, Stephen continued, “Be good and accept it, okay? I’m worried about you.
There was a hint of coaxing in his tone. Even if he let her do as she pleased, her safety was his priority.
Natalie couldn’t refuse, and she felt touched by Stephen’s concern. In times like these, it meant a lot.
Whether in her current or past life, Cedric, who claimed to love her the most, hadn’t anticipated these
developments. He had left her to struggle through her difficulties on her own and in embarrassment.
Now, Stephen was there to protect her, no matter what happened. This protection from her family gave.

Having accepted Stephen’s kind gesture, Natalie sat in her office with an indifferent look.
As soon as she hung up with Stephen, Rebecca’s call came in. Without a doubt, Rebecca was likely to
berate and accuse her over the phone.
Natalie immediately declined the call!
Rebecca quickly sent her a message: [Come back to the Johnson Manor right away, or else Bianca may
have to leave Verde City!]
Seeing this message, Natalie was filled with anger. The people of the Johnson family always seemed to be looking for ways to threaten others and make them bow by any means necessary.
In the end, Natalie drove her Bugatti back to the Johnson Manor.
The servant who was always by Rebecca’s side, Wanda, was waiting outside. She initially mistook the approaching car for Jocelyn’s and put on a fawning expression.
However, when she saw Natalie stepping out of the car, her expression changed from reverence to shock
Upon seeing Wanda, Natalie naturally didn’t have a pleasant expression. Her strained relationship with Rebecca often involved this person.
“You’re finally here? Madam has been waiting for you since early moming and has been wondering what’s
keeping you so busy!”
The implication was clear: what could be so important that Natalle had made her elder wait for so long?
Natalie was quite petite, and she was shorter than Wanda. In the past, she appeared as a little figure that anyone could easily boss around.
But now, she stood tall and composed. Her gaze was cold. When she met Wanda’s eyes, the latter felt a
tremor in her heart.
Natalie asked indifferently, “Who are you waiting for?”
This attitude of Natalie’s was entirely new to everyone in the Johnson Manor.
Wanda replied haughtily, “Madam said Ms. Lambert has plans to make desserts together with her and
asked me to wait for her.”
Wanda had spoken rudely, thinking it might provoke Natalie. It was no secret that Jocelyn was now the prime candidate for the future young mistress of the Johnson family, which was already the consensus
among the people in the Johnson Manor.
Everyone here was eager to curry favor with the future new mistress and had a more hostile attitude
towards Natalie.
But to Wanda’s surprise, Natalie wasn’t affected.
Instead, she scornfully smiled as she responded, “I wasn’t aware she had taken up dessert–making as a hobby.”
Her tone was such that she now referred to Rebecca as if they were equals, with no trace of the respect typically shown to one’s elders.

By the time Wanda snapped out of her shock, Natalie had already gone inside.
Rebecca wasn’t in a good mood today. However, no matter how bad her mood was, she always treated her chosen future daughter–in–law with the utmost patience.
She initially assumed it was Jocelyn who had arrived. But when she saw it was Natalie, the gentle smile on her face disappeared

With those words, she hurled the teacup she held directly at Natalie.
Natalie quickly tilted her head. The cup slammed into the wall behind her, shattering instantly.
Rebecca’s anger only intensified at Natalie’s actions.
“Oh, so you think you’re the future matriarch of the Johnson family just because he’s protecting you, don’t
you?”
So, Natalie was daring enough to dodge now?
That was something she had never dared to do before!
That was right.
In the past, no matter when Natalie was at the Johnson Manor, she was always respectful to these people.
She let them believe they could vent their frustrations on her at will. Now that she was showing a little
resistance, they couldn’t handle it.
Natalie retorted, “I really couldn’t care less about being the future matriarch of the Johnson family.”
