After concluding their discussion with Dr. Gomez, Ethan and Hazel made their way back to Daisy’s ward. The weight of the doctor’s words lingered in the air, and Hazel couldn’t help but sigh as she reflected on the situation. “I’m no miracle worker. I may be a specialist, but there is still a chance and rate of mortality. I would suggest we wait for a few months,” Dr. Gomez had conveyed, and Ethan cast a glance at Hazel, who sat there calmly, absorbing every word.

Ethan, sensing Hazel’s emotional state, gently called out to her. “Hey,” he said, offering a reassuring presence. “She’ll be just fine,” he added, his words meant to provide solace. Hazel nodded, appreciating the support she found in Ethan’s presence.
The conversation shifted, and Hazel couldn’t help but express her curiosity about how Ethan managed to locate the doctor and, more impressively, convinced him not just to act as a consultant but to conduct the surgery himself. Hazel’s eyes glimmered with admiration as they stood together in the elevator. Ethan downplayed his efforts, stating, “It was nothing, really. I just used my connections a little bit, though his modesty couldn’t mask the considerable efforts they had undertaken. As they reached the front of Daisy’s ward, Hazel conveyed her gratitude once more. “Thank you, Ethan. The two of them stood there lingering in a contemplative silence. “Well, take care then,” Ethan said softly, preparing to leave. “Thank you,” she responded. However, before Ethan could fully depart, Hazel called out to him halting him in his steps.
“Ethan… Mr. Wild,” she addressed him through the quiet hospital halls. “I’m sorry. about the project’s delay. I’ll oversee it from next week,” Hazel apologized, burdened by the sense of responsibility for the delays affecting Tesco’s development and her colleagues at Starlight.
