I walked out of the house toward the car where Anastasia was waiting for me.
She smiled when her eyes met mine, and entering the car, I took her hand and gently brought to my lips, intertwining our fingers as I kissed her knuckle.
“My apologies for taking too long. I had to put a few ground rules that set up a few boundaries.” I said, making her smile.

Normally, the two of us would be staying at a hotel, but judging by the fact that we would be facing a few complications due to me being married right now, I believe that Viktor figured that it would be impossible, especially last night.
“I am boss for a reason, malyshka.” I teased, winking at her. She smiled and blushed as I squeezed her hand gently. “The two of us are heading off for a small date. I believe that we both deserve a little time together. Then, I’ll head off to work.”
“Don’t you
think that your parents would find out about this?” She asked, making me smile.
“Now, here is the thing, at this point, I really don’t give a fuck.” I said, and she laughed. The smile on her face made my heart swell, and the fact that she knew that I was fighting for her was something very important to me.
“I know that you’re doing this for me, but Nik, you do realize that there is work involved in this marriage too, and the last thing I want is to be the reason to ruin that.” She said gently. I smiled at her and nodded. I knew that work was involved in this, and that was why I have arranged this specific surprise for her. It was one that I knew she would love, especially since our anniversary was ruined by the wedding.
“Well, that is true, and that is why I rented the whole place specifically for us.” I said, making her frown in confusion. “I know that the wedding came at a wrong date, and I know that mom purposely chose that date to remind me of what she believed that she broke. It was what she was good at, breaking things that others around her love. So, I decided to give you a beautiful late anniversary, to compensate.
“What?” She asked, wide eyed. She smiled before she covered her mouth, and nodding at the car’s front pocket. I motioned for her to open it.

Doing as told, a black box was laid in the center of it. I had bought the gift a month ago, wanting to give it to her on our special day, but not only was the wedding on our special day, but it was also in Russia, making it impossible for me to give it to her like I planned. Her trusting me to help her out with the situation she was in was a blessing to me, and to her as well. The woman couldn’t trust that another man wouldn’t hurt her, and I was determined to make sure to prove it to her.
“I love you, Nikolay,” Anastasia said, waiting till we stopped at a traffic light. She removed her seatbelt and leaned in to kiss my cheek, her kiss was gentle and innocent, and I couldn’t help the smile that formed on my lips as I leaned in to it before cupping her cheek and kissing her lips.
She smiled into the kiss, and pulling away, I rested my forehead against hers for a few seconds, thankful for the empty streets that we were taking. Most people rarely took these roads anyway.

“Nikolay!” Anastasia laughed as I tickled her before hovering over her body.

“I am not sure. She said we’ll discuss things when I’m home. We’ll see what she has in mind.” I said. pulling out of Anastasia who whimpered at the loss of contact.
