The white Maserati came to a stop, and a servant promptly opened the car door. The servant looked quite pleased, saying, “Madam, someone came to the house just now and brought a lot of valuable things.”

It was all extravagant; a grand and obvious gesture.
Mason silently walked in. He embraced her from behind, resting his chin gently on her shoulder, and asked, “Do you like them?”
Zoe didn’t say anything. She gently opened a box, revealing a pair of satin high heels adorned with diamonds. They were beautiful, and honestly, Mason had excellent taste
Zoe smiled faintly. “How can a woman not like these things? Mason, is this your way of compensating?”

Everything she said about visual appeal being more important was all

He lowered his head against her forehead, his voice gentle but dangerous. “I really want to kill you.”
Zoe raised her head, sneering. “Killing me is not as good as getting a divorce. Why burden yourself with the guilt of taking away a life?”

He pressed against her lip, murmuring a few words. “Let’s kill each other in bed.”
