The maid came upstairs again, her voice subdued. “Sir, Ava has 

arrived.” 

Mason held the diamond ring in his hand, quietly looking at it. Upon hearing this, he calmly said, “Ask her to wait for me downstairs.” 

Ava sat in the grand hall on the first floor. When she came, she heard from the maid that Zoe had moved out, separating from Mason. She thought she would be happy about it, but surprisingly, she wasn’t. 

When Mason came downstairs, he had changed into a different outfit. He looked weary as he descended, asking, “What’s so urgent that you had to come to my home to discuss it?” 

After saying that, he sat at the dining table to eat. 

Eating alone was always a bit desolate. He didn’t have much of an appetite. 

Feeling compelled, Ava carefully spoke up, “After the incident, Ms. 

Lilith has been asking to see you. However, you haven’t answered her calls or visited her. She cut her arms again in the hospital, losing a lot of blood.” 

Still scooping the soup, Mason responded casually, “Is she still bleeding with her body in that condition?” 

With those words, Ava understood Lilith’s weight in his heart. She was about to ask how to handle it when Mason, while sipping the soup, continued, “Actually, I also have something to ask her.” 

His tone was light, but a storm seemed to be brewing.

arents used to be servants for the Sanders family. You deliberately ok a set of photos at the Kirk Manor, just to spite Zoe. Do you think nat by making her leave, I would marry you?” 

Lilith trembled. “Mr. Mason, I didn’t mean it that way.” 

He didn’t care how she meant it.

He watched it quietly for a while, then spoke lightly but coldly, “I came here today to tell you two things. First, I will never marry you, not now, not ever. Second, once your health stabilizes, go abroad immediately. I won’t see you again. If you do anything disgraceful, I won’t show mercy. Your life might not be long, but you should think about your parents. They still have decades left to live.” 

His heartless words left Lilith stunned. 

She looked at Mason, unable to believe he would treat her this way. She spoke with a choked voice, “Mr. Mason, have you forgotten that I was the one who awakened you that year? You once thought about marrying me-” 

Mason interrupted her, “I married Zoe!” 

Lilith, being a woman, was sensitive. Suddenly, she realized something.
