Chapter 30

Lola’s POV

Jayden came to wake me up around 5am. I knew it was around that time because I could barely sleep from the excitement of embarking on my journey of self development.

Jasmine was awake too, another reason I could not sleep well. Her excitement and constant chatter contributed to the reason I could not fall asleep back after waking up by 3am.

I couldn’t blame her though. This is a big feat for us.

He was surprised to see me awake and ready when he knocked on my door. I went to get the door and saw him already dressed up for training and that was when it occured to me that I had no clothes to train. I could have worn a sport bra but I wasn’t comfortable enough around people with my

scars.

“You’re awake already. I see you’re so excited to start training“, he smiled at me and I looked down shyly. “Get dressed and meet me downstairs in 10 minutes. I’d be waiting for you in the living room“, he said and turned back.

I contemplated telling him about my outfit and finally summoned the courage to call out to him when he was about to reach the stairs.

“Alpha Jayden?” I called out to him and he turned back to face me. “Yes, Lola. And call me Jayden, please“, his deep voice sounded in the hallways.

names.

“Is Rose awake?” He looked at me quizzically at that question so I rushed to finish up my sentence. “I have nothing to wear to train as I just decided on it yesterday night. I was

wondering if she had spare clothes she could give me to train. in“, I rushed out.

“Yeah, she’s awake“, his eyes glazed over after that reply, signaling that he was mindlinking someone. “She’ll bring them to you in a minute. I’ll be waiting downstairs for you“, with this he turned and went down the stairs.

Rose came around with a gym leggings and longsleeved top to go with it. She hugged me tightly before she went down the stairs too.

I went into the bathroom to wash my face and brushed my teeth before hurrying back to the room. I hurriedly put on the clothes as I did not want to keep Jayden waiting. I put on a black Converse and made my way down the stairs.

Rose was nowhere to be seen when I got there, so Jayden and I made our way to the basement with Jayden leading of course. It’s not like I have any idea how to reach the

basement.

We got to the gym and I was wowed by how amazing and big it looked. Gym equipment was placed all over the place and it was just magnificent, all in all.

“Since this is going to be your first time ever training, we’d be starting with a full body workout to build your body and strength“, I nodded exactly at everything he said, not fully

understanding the whole process involved.

By the time he said that we were done training for the day, I was about to faint from exhaustion, even though I felt good and proud of myself.

Jayden passed me a bottle of water and patted my shoulder. “You did quite well for a first timer, you’d be a pro fighter in no time, Lola. I see potential in you“, he said as he patted my shoulder. With that, he went upstairs leaving me to get myself together before I went after him.

Rose’s eyes lit up when she saw me enter the kitchen. She left the table she was setting and came to hug me. “Jayden told me you did so well, I’m so proud of you Lola“, she said as she hugged me, making a smile appear on my face.

“I prepared food already. You should go and freshen up and then come back to eat“, she smiled at me lovingly and I felt bad for making her stressed to feed me again for the second time in a row.

“I’ve made you cook for me for the second time in a row,

Rose. I feel so bad for stressing you when I’m your maid and should be the one doing all of these for you“, I said to her and she glared at me.

“Nonsense! Is it not clear yet that I do not see you as a maid? You’re my daughter Lola and mothers always care for their children so shut your mouth and go shower“, she said and I felt my eyes fill up with tears.

Mother. A word I haven’t heard in eight years.

Without saying another, word, I hugged her tightly as I let the

waterworks leak down my cheeks. She held me without saying a word, just patting my back and allowing me to cry.

She pulled back from me after some minutes and cleaned my tears. “That’s okay for now, do not make me cry also“, she sniffled and we both burst into laughter. “You have a very nice laugh, Lola. You should laugh more often, you deserve it“. I nodded my head and turned to make my way up the stairs. 

I was halfway up the stairs when she called out to me. “Oh, and dress nicely. We’re going to the pack house in a bit“she said before going into the kitchen again.

Just the perfect opportunity to see Lyla. With a bounce in my steps, I took my bath and put in a beautiful gown that hid my scars well and paired it with a cute sandal.

I ran a comb through my hair, and used stud earrings from the ones we shopped. I applied lip gloss and sprayed

perfumes on my pulse points like the store attendant taught

me too.

I looked in the mirror and I have to admit it myself that I look totally amazing. There’s a glow in my eyes, apart from the fact that it glows. I felt alive and had something to live for.

Jasmine yipped happily in my head, her excitement matching mine. I stopped in front of Adrian’s room as I made my way down the stairs again. My heart reached out to him but I blamed it on the mate bond. I was so close to knocking on his door before I cautioned myself.

He doesn’t want me nor want to have anything to do with me. The earlier I get that into my head, the better.

Rose, Jayden and I had breakfast together, no one speaking about the fact that Adrian wasn’t present. I volunteered to clean up after eating just so Rose could get ready faster. I couldn’t wait to see Lyla again.

I just finished placing all the dishwares in their rightful place when Rose came downstairs looking as gorgeous as usual. She kissed Jayden goodbye and I felt a pang in my heart at their show of affection.

We left the house after saying goodbye to Jayden and made our way to the pack house. As we neared the pack–house I saw people making preparations for a party. Some people were hanging banners, some were hanging decorations.

I wondered what was going on but refrained from asking Rose. I’d be seeing Lyla in a minute, I’ll just ask her. Rose saw some pack members and decided to have a chat with them which gave me the opportunity to go into the pack house to see Lyla.

I went into the kitchen but she wasn’t there. I decided to go look for her in her room. Immediately I entered the hallway. leading to her room, I was met with a very shocking view.
