Adrian’s POV

I went in search of Fay immediately I left Lola. I was blinded by rage at her insolence. I clearly told her to stay away from Lola and she had the guts to go back and say shit to her?

I spotted her in a group of people and walked over to her. I grabbed her arm and pulled her away from the group towards a slightly deserted corner of the pack house.

“What did I tell you about Lola?” I barked in her face and she seemed unfazed. It was almost like she did it to lure me to her. She smiled lazily at me and I felt Daxon trying to take control.

She must have noticed the incessant change in my eye colour because she trembled slightly and bowed her her. Daxon is an Alpha wolf and doesn’t care for anyone except his mate so she knew she’d be torn to shreds if I allowed him to take control.

“You chose me first, Adrian. I’m supposed to be your Luna, not some low….“, I growled at her at her choice of words and she quickly changed what she was going to say, “not that girl“.

“Know your olace, Fay. Know your olace it I wouldn’t hesitate to tear you apart if you as much as try to humiliate or intimidate my mate“, I snarled at her and she took a couple steps back.

“You already humiliated her when you slept with“, she said

under her breath but I heard it. “What did you just say?” I dared her to say it again but she did not. I thought as much.

I was about to leave when she held onto me and hugged me. “You chose me first, Adrian“, she said in a sad voice and sniffled a little but I knew it was all a show.

I pulled her away from my skin and made her look into my eyes. “You were a replacement for when I finally found my mate, get that into your head. I’ve found her now so you should step back“, I said to her harshly and turned around to leave.

“I’ll make sure I become your Luna, Adrian. No one is going to love you the way I do, not even that freak“, she shouted after me but I ignored her. She’s a psycho with some lose screws, I wasn’t going to let her pull me down with her.

“She doesn’t even love you nor feel the mate bond with you. She did not bat an eye when I told her to leave you for me. A real woman would have fought for her mate but she just stood there like she did not even hear me. No one would ever love you like I do, get that into your head Adrian“, she kept screaming as I left but I ignored her.

I kept thinking about Fay’s words as I went towards my home. Did she really not care about me? Was I the only one affected by the mate bond? But she was in pain when I was with. another woman, that counts for something right?

I was disturbed and lost in thought till I got home. I had just entered the living room when I felt someone prodding at my mindlink. I let down my wall and Nathan’s voice came through.

“Where are you, man?” His voice rang through the mindlink

and I almost facepalmed. I had forgotten that it was his mate’s coming of age ceremony and most people must be wondering where the future Alpha ran off to.

“I’m at home. Something urgent came up so I had to leave early. I’m sorry, I should have been there as your Alpha and bestfriend“, I sighed tbrkught the mindlink.

“I think it’s better we talk about this when we see each other“, I said. I wanted to escape the conversation by any means but he refused. He already knew I was going to find a way to escape it.

“I think we should talk about it now. Something happened and you’ve been avoiding the topic. I also noticed Rose nor Jayden were happy with you today. What exactly did you do, Adrian?” He asked and I sighed. I hate the fact that he knows me so well but I also needed someone to tell me how to move forward with her.

“I fucked up, Nathan. I had sex with Fay just 2 nights ago after the whole pack house fiasco with Lola. I was angry and wasn’t thinking straight so I went to see Fay and took out my anger on her“, breathed out. Nathan remained silent so I continued.

“She was in pain the whole time I spent with Fay. Mother said she barely made it through the night and I apparently did what her former mate had done to her“, I finished and waited for Nathan to say something but it was all quiet. I knew he could hear me though because I could still feel his presence in

handled with care and you did what??” I couldn’t say anything to the questions he asked.

I was warned over and over but I kept ignoring it. Now, I have Fay to deal with and I also had to win Lola’s heart.

“What do I do, Nathan. Fay keeps trying to get with me and Lola doesn’t seem to want to have anything to do with me. I don’t think she cares enough about me“, I said while I sat in the couch with my head in my hands.

I was slowly losing it and it’s only a matter of time before Daxon loses it.

I walked towards the curtain overlooking the front side of the house and saw Lola there with a guy her age. The guy left shortly after and I went to sit on the couch hurriedly before Lola could reach the front door.

She walked in and saw me sitting on the couch but walked up the stairs like I wasn’t sitiing there. As I watched her leave for her room, Fay’s words kept ringing in my head.

I shook my head to clear my head. This is my mess and I will definitely find a way to clear it.
