Chapter 160 She Comes Around
Wasn’t she in a vegetative state? How is she able to move her hands?
As if in response to her, Emily’s fingers moved again.
This time, Pamela saw it clearly. She hadn’t mistaken, Emily really moved!
“Someone come! Hurry up! Mrs. Friedan moved!”
As soon as these words were spoken, the serv ants standing outside rushed in like a swarm of bees.
Emily moved!
The lady was about to wake up!
The ser vants had surprise on their faces.
“Go and inform the Friedan family that I will give her a ma**age!” Pamela made a quick decision and walked briskly to Emily’s side, ma**aging her hands and feet.
She had studied nursing and knew that besides needing constant stimulation from the outside, a vegetative person also needed to be ma**aged to prevent cell death.
Pamela ma**aged Emily’s hand, as she continued to ma**age, Emily’s hand held onto hers.
Pamela was startled, her eyes widened, and she met Emily’s beautiful
gaze.
“Who were you?”

“Great! Madam woke up!”
“Go quickly and inform Mr. Friedan and the young masters!”

In Wyvernport, Hawk Heights, Claudia’s house, the atmosphere was quiet.
Elva cried pitifully, “Dad was right, it was indeed Rosalie who did this/Mom told me not to be friends with Rosalie and asked me to persuade her to confess. I said a few words to Rosalie, and she threw a vase at me. Mom shielded me from the vase.”
“Rosalie threatened me, saying that if I were to speak out about this matter, she would seek revenge on me. She even dared to harm my sister’s grandmother. Squeezing the life out of me would be as easy as squashing an ant. At that time, all of you were by my sister’s side, and I had no one to protect me. Moreover, I was cri ppled. If she were to do something to me, I wouldn’t even know how I would die…”
“She threatened me to say that the vase fell off the cabinet, and I had to grit my teeth and bear it.”
She cried so hard that she couldn’t catch her breath, explaining intermittently.
Claudia smirked, crossed her arms, and watched her perform.
“Did your mother say anything else in the recording?” Waldron clearly didn’t believe Elva’s explanation and turned to Claudia.
Derrick frowned and was about to say something when he was glared
at by Waldron, who said, “If you can’t speak, then don’t say anything.”
“Say everything you heard, I don’t trust anyone now, only you,” Waldron’s words hit Elva’s face hard.
Claudia’s lips curled up as she glanced at her lightly.
Elva’s shoulders trembled slightly as she slowly lowered her head, her fingers nervously intertwining.
Claudia sneered, “Mom said a lot, and I asked her why she wanted to harm her own family.”
“You’re talking nonsense!” Elva’s lips turned pale, trembling like a sieve!
Only Emily knew about Waldron’s affair, but now Claudia knows too!
“Sister, don’t think that just because Mom hasn’t woken up, you can talk nonsense here! I, Elva, would never harm anyone in the family. The only wrong thing I did was to cover up for Rosalie. I swear to G od, if I have done anything to hurt my loved ones, I deserve to be struck by lightning and have a miserable death.”
In order to gain the trust of the Friedan family, she even took an oath.
As long as the members of the Friedan family believed her, the oath didn’t matter.
She was not afraid of death, but she was afraid that Thomas and Derrick would give up on her.
Upon hearing such an oath, Derrick’s entire face darkened: “Claudia, what exactly do you want from Elva? Do you really have to force her to recite all the vows?”
Originally, Derrick was feeling a bit cold-hearted, but upon hearing
Elva make such a solemn vow, his heart couldn’t help but warm up.
Sure enough, Elva was not a heartless person. It was Rosalie who threatened Elva.
“Elva has already said that the most outrageous thing she has done is covering up for Rosalie. Claudia, you have no evidence, why do you accuse her of harming our own family? Elva has been with us for over twenty years, we know her better than you do. As her sister, you should understand her feelings, but instead, you always target her repeatedly.” Derrick’s tone was icy as he confronted, his swollen face looking quite comical.
Listening to his icy sarcasm, Claudia’s red lips curled into a beautiful sneer, “Evidence, wasn’t it destroyed by you?”
Derrick furrowed his brow and remained silent, pursing his lips.
Claudia looked at Elva, her tone light and icy: “Elva, do you think that as long as Mom doesn’t wake up, you can turn black into white? As long as she doesn’t wake up and Derrick destroys the evidence, no one in this world can touch you?”
“What are you talking about! How could Mommy not wake up? Are you cursing Mommy?” Elva laughed confidently and boldly, she reached out to smooth her bangs and raised her voice, “It’s you who are afraid of Mom waking up, right? I hope Mommy wakes up more than anyone else, so you can’t falsely accuse me, and I can prove my innocence.”
Claudia exposed Elva’s thoughts, but Elva calmly spoke insincere words.
Mommy woke up, how is that possible? The doctor said the probability of Mommy waking up was one percent.
She checked and found out that it would take several years for a
vegetative person to wake up. Rosalie was so ruthless, there was no way mommy could wake up that quickly.
Actually, Claudia was right. As long as there is no evidence, others cannot do anything to her.
But she still had to put on a show, because Thomas and Derrick were still here, and she couldn’t afford to have a falling out with Claudia.
Thomas sat on the side with a gloomy face, not knowing what he was thinking.
This is far from the retirement life he had imagined.
What he wanted was a harmonious family, not the current situation where brothers and sisters are constantly at odds.
Thinking about how all of this happened only after Claudia arrived, Thomas looked at Claudia with a faint expression, his brows furrowing even more tightly.
He even wondered if things would have been a little different if he hadn’t recognized her back then.
At least when Emily was still lucid, she could chat with him instead of lying in bed like now, unable to cry or laugh, and even needing someone to feed her.
Just then, Thoma s’s phone rang.
This ringtone was prepared exclusively for Emily. Only the ser vants at home would make this call if it was related to Emily.
Thomas quickly answered the phone and, upon hearing the crucial part, stood up excitedly.
“What did you say? Emily woke up?”
Thoma s’s lips trèmbled with joy, and the hand holding the phone shook uncontrollably.
The rest of the Friedan family all looked at him in unison, so Thomas simply put the phone on speaker.
“Yes, Mr. Friedan, Mrs. Friedan has woken up. She is having a meal. She asked me to call you and tell you to come home early.”
Upon hearing these words, Thomas and the Friedan family’s three brothers burst into laughter with joy.
Claudia was also excited to the point of tears.
Great, Mom woke up!
Only Elva, her smile froze on her face, as if she couldn’t believe what
she had heard.
Are you awake?
Did mom wake up?
Elva’s body instantly turned as cold as if all the blood had been drained from it, while her heart seemed to have stopped, unable to feel any beats.
Derrick heard the news and quickly walked over to her side, smiling with a swollen face from being beaten, and said, “Great, Elva! Mom has woken up, she can testify for you now!”
Testify?
Did Emily testify for her? What kind of testimony, did she testify against Waldron?
Elva widened her eyes, and tears welled up in her eyes, stinging them.
Ha, how ironic!
As soon as she made a vow, Emily woke up!
Did you wake up so quickly just to slap her face?
After a few seconds, the blood flowed back and Elva’s stiff and cold body finally regained consciousness.
“Yeah, Mommy woke up, that’s great.” Elva said, watching the members of the Friedan family, who were overjoyed and rushing out. She tried hard to force a smile, but no matter how hard she tried, it looked more like she was crying.
Derrick didn’t notice her abnormality and pushed her wheelchair out: “Sister, mom woke up, no one will dare to wrong you anymore. If mom knew the suffering you endured, she would definitely stand up for you!”
