Chapter 20 Come Back
Just then, the doctor suddenly looked at her. “You’re the family member of Cicely in Room 666, right? Her results are out too.”
He quickly walked into the adjacent office and handed Claudia the diagnosis.
Claudia’s brows furrowed tightly when she saw the words “malignant tumor,” her heart sinking.
She took the results and headed to Edmond’s room. Edmond was awake but looked somewhat pale.
Claudia clenched the diagnosis paper. Edmond looked at her and said. “Give it to me. I can handle it.”
Although he already knew the result, Edmond remained silent for a long time after reading the diagnosis.
Claudia wanted to say something comforting but didn’t know where to
start.
Claudia thought, “As the saying goes. It’s hard to advise someone on suffering things you haven’t experienced’. Moreover, I had been through it myself.”
Any external consolation would be useless, especially when one had to put on a brave face for others.
“I’ll step out for a bit. Call me if you need anything.”
Edmond needed some time alone right now.

However, Rosalie, sitting next to Edmond, showed no signs of leaving.
From a distance, Claudia could hear Rosalie’s coquettish advice. “Cicely shouldn’t be stressed…”
After exiting, Claudia headed straight to the doctor’s office. There were things she needed to clarify.
The doctor was writing something on paper. Hearing the knock, he looked up and met a pair of clear, beautiful eyes.
Claudia noticed his name tag, Hugh Darwin.
“Excuse the intrusion, I have some questions for Dr. Darwin.”
Her voice was languid but pleasant, her gaze sharp and clear.
Hugh pondered for a moment and softly said, “Come in.”
“My grandmother has been in this hospital for over half a year. I know all the doctors here. How come I’ve never seen you before, Dr. Darwin?”
“I was abroad for further studies; I’ve just returned.”
“Oh…” Claudia clenched her fingers, her nails digging into her flesh, “Does Dr. Darwin know Rosalie?”
Hugh looked deeply into her eyes, his expression unreadable.
Claudia smiled faintly, her eyes slightly upturned, carrying a hint of sharpness and aggression.
She had clearly heard the key parts of their conversation.
What was he trying to hide for Rosalie?
Time pa**ed slowly, and finally, Hugh spoke in a soft, steady voice, “I

know her, but not well.”
“What do you think the chances are that a cancer patient in the hospital suddenly dies not from the disease but from cardiac stress, especially when the surveillance is also broken?”
Hugh seemed surprised by her question, his expression slightly bewildered.
He quickly regained his composure.
“The risk of human intervention is high. No one would dare to do such a thing in a hospital. Ms. Lloyd, have you misunderstood something?” His speech was deliberate, and his slender face showed no signs of cr acks.
From the moment he said he didn’t know Rosalie well, Claudia knew she wouldn’t get anything out of him.
“You’re right. It’s indeed risky for one person to do such a thing.”
But what if there were accomplices?
What if someone was helping?
Claudia remained expressionless. Though Hugh didn’t admit it, she was almost clear about that situation.
At least there was a new lead regarding her grandmother’s situation.
Inside Edmond’s hospital room.
Edmond was on the phone, listening to his a**istant’s report.
“Mr. Lamont, why did you stop me from investigating Mrs. Lamont and Mr. Friedan’s relationship? We were about to make a breakthrough…”

“No need to investigate further,” thinking of Claudia’s resistance, Edmond spoke indifferently.
Since it was her choice, he should try to let her go.
“So you’re really planning to divorce?” Rodney Grant, his a**istant, was quite sentimental. “Mrs. Lamont is actually quite good.”
Rodney thought, “Mrs. Lamont seems like a good wife, much more reliable than Ms. Clayton.
If Mrs. Lamont was really with Mr. Friedan, then it would be like a disaster.”
“Keep an eye on the Clayton family’s movements and a**ign some people to protect Claudia. You guys don’t need to interfere with the rest.”
“Understood…”
Edmond hung up the phone. Thinking of the Clayton family’s tactics, he had a bad feeling.’
The person in charge of the Clayton family was now Dempsey Clayton, who was notoriously ruthless.
Edmond didn’t want anything to happen to Claudia.
On the other side, in the underground parking lot.
Waldron was reluctantly pushed into the car by Ervin.
“If you want to go back, go back yourself. Why bring me along?” Waldron was furious, kicking the car door and leaving a footprint.
Pa**ersby winced at his decisive kick.

This car was globally limited!
“I brought you along to prevent you from causing trouble. There are so many reporters outside waiting for you. Do you want to make headlines tomorrow?” Ervin’s smile was sly, like a cun ning fox.
Waldron sat in the car, crossed his arms, and chuckled, “What headlines haven’t I hit? You think I’d be afraid?”
Ervin thought about Waldron’s previous headlines and fell silent.
“What did you say to her?” Waldron narrowed his eyes.
Ervin spoke honestly, “Keep her away from you.”
Waldron was furious.
“Ervin,” Waldron rarely called him so seriously, “she looks like Tania.”
“What did you say?” Ervin’s smile gradually disappeared.
Waldron repeated, “Do you remember? When Seraphina was born, she looked a lot like Tania as a child. Everyone thought she would grow up to be as beautiful as Tania.”
His words took Ervin’s memory back twenty years.
Indeed, many people had said that when his sister was just born. But Waldron was only a little over a year old at that time; it was surprising that he remembered this so clearly.
“Even if she looks like Tania, it doesn’t prove anything. There are so many people in the world! It’s not hard to find two who look alike. Don’t forget, we’ve searched all over Wellfort. Seraphina can’t possibly still be there.”
“Among us, only I spent the most time with Tania. Claudia now looks

just like Tania back then. You think it’s a coincidence?” Waldron sneered, “I knew you wouldn’t believe it, but I hope you don’t make yourself silly later.”
Over the years, countless people had claimed to be their lost sister during the search for Seraphina, but none had given Waldron this feeling.
Blood relations were hard to define. The first time Waldron saw Claudia, he felt a sense of familiarity.
He was sure that Claudia must be Seraphina.
Ervin on the other hand was relieved, thinking, “Fortunately, Waldron only felt sibling affection for Claudia, without any messy romantic feelings.”
Seeing his certainty, Ervin hesitated whether to tell Waldron another truth.
“Waldron, Claudia can’t possibly be Seraphina.” Ervin took out a file from beside the car and handed it to him. “But our sister is indeed coming back.”
Waldron frowned as he took it, flipping through it. He saw several pictures of a short-haired girl. The girl was smiling brightly.
Below the pictures was the girl’s profile.
Ervin gently introduced, “She’s Elva’s cla**mate from abroad. Elva noticed she looked like our dad, so Elva investigated her background. This girl matches Seraphina in terms of birth time and other aspects.”
Waldron carefully observed the girl’s facial features. Her nose and eyes did indeed resemble their father’s.
He handed the file back to Ervin. “How sure are you?”

Ervin smiled lightly, “Eighty percent.”
“Quite high!” Waldron pursed his lips, unsure whether to feel disappointed or relieved.
Was all of this just a misunderstanding?
