Chapter 257 Chaos Had Arrived

The atmosphere was tense in the Fleming’s manor.

Magnus leaned on the sofa, listening to Axton’s scolding with utter boredom.

“You are a child of the Fleming family, and you are not allowed to risk your life!” Axton’s cane hit the ground hard, “You promised me before, once you returned from the Lamont family, you would never get involved in their affairs again. Yet, you even dared to take my people with you on this dangerous adventure. Those people live on the edge of a knife, if you’re not careful, you could be silenced by them!”

Thinking about what Magnus had done these past few days, Axton was so angry that he was puffing his beard and glaring his eyes.

Magnus glanced up gently, lazily smiling, “It’s not a big deal, I’ve been prepared for this, we have to face this risk eventually.”

If he hadn’t come out, how could Tristen have played his cards so ruthlessly and exposed himself?

He just didn’t expect that Tristen would be so heartless, directly wishing him dead, and even a death without a whole corpse.

. The brother who had risked his life to save him had ultimately

changed.

Seeing his bad mood, Axton snapped irritably, “People change, do you really think the Lamont family are saints?”

If it weren’t for the timely arrival of the police, it’s uncertain who among you would have won or lost.”

Axton cursed harshly, and this time, Magnus didn’t retort.

“The girl from the Friedan family, I heard she was still recuperating at the Johnson family’s place.”

Magnus pursed his lips, a faint ripple of emotion in his eyes.

“Her engagement date with Horace was set, Emerson invited us, and I accepted,” Axton warned him, looking at him. “She is now part of the Ferguson family, don’t mess around.”

If it was only a possibility before, it is now a certainty. The engagement date has been announced. Anyone who tries to interfere would be openly offending the Johnson family and the Ferguson family.

“No messing around, got it?!” Axton sternly warned.

The corners of Magnus’s mouth lifted slightly, he didn’t say anything more, but the clenched fist revealed his suppressed emotions.

Engaged, still got engaged.

That day, after Horace left with her, he immediately regretted it.

She came looking for him, why didn’t he just show up, hold her and tell her that he was still alive.

If she didn’t like him, that would be another story, not like now, giving up without trying.

“Grandpa, she must have liked me.”

Magnus suddenly spoke.

Axton’s breath hitched in his throat.

“She liked me, why should I give up?” Magnus’s deep ink–black eyes were like a deep pool, “Grandpa, I might not be able to do what you ask.”

He couldn’t do it, so he didn’t mess around.

Upon hearing this, Axton suddenly started coughing, his face turning as cold as a block of ice.

“Magnus! She’s already someone else’s wife!”

“You would be morally despised like this!”

“Why did you have to fall for someone else’s fiancée, when there are so many other types of women you could have liked!”

Axton wanted to curse him awake.

A fog seemed to spread across Magnus’s languid, composed face, his resolute expression as indifferent as ever.

Axton gave up.

He knew that no one could stop what Magnus wanted to do.

Given Magnus’s current state, he could have possibly pulled off something like a marriage proposal.

At the entrance of Vencumfield Mall, Yvette was holding Claudia’s hand, her steps lively.

“What kind of engagement gifts did you like? And wedding favors, as long as you liked them, the general customers would like them too.”

“I don’t mind the bridesmaid dress, as long as you like it.” Yvette was happy whenever she thought about Claudia’s upcoming good news.

Last time Claudia helped her come from Wyvernport and settle in Vencumfield, she not only found a suitable job, but also gradually

emerged from the shadow of Everett

Everett had always been looking for her. If it hadn’t been for Claudia’s help in covering for her, her days wouldn’t have been so peaceful.

“Yvette, Everett called me yesterday.”

Yvette paused, the smile on her face quickly fading, “What did you say?”

“I said I didn’t know where you were, but he didn’t believe me.

Yvette nodded calmly.

She wasn’t foolish enough to believe that Everett truly couldn’t see her. In all of Adron, as long as one searched diligently, they could trace her whereabouts.

“Claudia, you’ve worked hard these days, and you don’t need to cover for me anymore. There has to be an outcome for the matter between him and me,” Yvette said with a casual smile.

Speak of the devil and he shall appear, before the words had even fallen, a person was walking towards them.

Everett.

It seemed that he had been waiting for her for a long time.

Yvette calmly made eye contact with Everett.

Everett, dressed in a white suit, was handsome and refined. The pa**ersby, coming and going, unconsciously cast their gaze upon him.

Upon seeing Everett, Claudia let out a small sigh.

This Everett really was a persistent ghost. Even though Yvette was avoiding him, he still managed to find her.

She turned around and simply walked into a nearby gift shop, giving them space to talk.

Everett walked up to Yvette, gave a slight smile and said, “Shall we find a place to sit?”

“No need, I have something to do later.” Yvette frowned, “Mr. Ramsey, we have no relationship anymore, and there will be none in the future. I thought I made myself clear enough.”

“I knew you were forced to come to Vencumfield,” Everett cut to the chase, “My mom pressured you again.”

“No.” Yvette interrupted him, “It was my own decision to leave. We were wrong from the start, we can’t continue to be wrong. Everett, let me go, and let yourself go too.”

Everett looked at her indifferently, his eyes growing redder and redder.

Yvette turned around heartlessly, and the moment she turned, tears fell from the corners of her eyes.

Let it go!

Impossible things, there’s no need to fantasize about them.

She didn’t have the background and family status like Claudia, they wouldn’t be happy together even if they forced it.

Give it up, it’s better for both of us.
