Chapter 33 It’s Unfair
Elva had a guilty conscience, so she was afraid that the surveillance camera was checked.
Rosalie, standing to the side, also panicked. She saw the whole scheme. Of course, she knew the surveillance camera would expose everything.
Thomas told Derrick to check the surveillance camera.
Elva pulled Derrick and said, “Derrick, I’ll go with you.”
Her voice carried a touch of panic.
Thomas’ eyes sank.
Elva explained immediately, “I’m just curious. I want to know how she pushed me.”
Lie! A sheer lie!
Claudia held the box and smiled brightly, “Ms. Friedan, you seem really curious. You don’t even have the time to get changed!”
They suddenly noticed that Elva was only wrapped in a blanket. She didn’t even get changed until now.
Thomas frowned seriously and said, “You don’t even believe Derrick? Be good. Go and get changed.”
Elva’s face went red. She muttered something and looked at Derrick aggrievedly before going to get changed
Derrick walked straight to the monitor room.

“Ms. Lloyd, Rosalie, come in and take a seat.” Thomas’ tone was soft.
Rosalie was worried and had to nod when she heard Thomas call her.
They sat in the lobby, waiting for the truth to be revealed.
Claudia placed the box to the side and took the coffee a maid served her.
Thomas admired her more when he saw her neither servile nor overbearing.
He had joined the army before and had a strong charisma. Besides, he was the richest man in the city, so many girls dared not to meet his eyes. But Claudia was unusual as what Waldron had said.
“Ms. Lloyd, Waldron told me that you were adopted too?” Thomas suddenly said.
Rosali
clenched the mug in her hands.
She gulped down some coffee as she glanced at Thomas and Claudia.
“Yes!” Claudia admitted. “Though I’ve been parentless since I was young, my grandma offered all her love. That is enough to make up the love I need.”
“Your grandma must be excellent.” Thomas sighed with emotion. Children growing up without a parent or both parents would have an irreparable wound in their hearts. They were either self-abased or conceited. But he didn’t find any of these defects in Claudia, which indicated that she was well-educated.
“If I get the chance, I want to see your grandma.”
Thomas didn’t know that Claudia’s grandma had pa**ed away.
for
Claudia lowered her eyes and couldn’t calm down when she thought of the elder who raised her up though she was strapped herself.
She looked at Rosalie with ridicule. “But my grandma pa**ed away.”
Thomas looked stunned, feeling it was a pity. “What a pity.”
“She didn’t enjoy a happy life and died because of me.”
Rosalie clenched her fists, her teeth creaking.
Claudia looked at her and felt suspicious.
Thomas glanced at Rosalie and stopped talking.
Derrick was checking the surveillance camera and double-checked it before he found the truth.
It wasn’t Claudia’s fault.
He held the mouse and paused, pondering whether he should delete it.
“Why do you hesitate?” Ervin’s voice sounded. “I thought you would delete it directly.”
Derrick’s hand froze as he said helplessly, “Elva is a kind girl. Claudia must have done something that offended her.”
He was absolving Elva from guilt.
Ervin was hesitating whether he should tell Derrick that Waldron was on good terms with Claudia.
Derrick was a good man. But he was partial to his family.
So was Waldron.
“You’re a lawyer. I thought you were impartial.”
“I will be impartial in the court. But it’s about Elva’s reputation. I can’t pretend not to care about it. Ervin, since Seraphina was lost, Elva has been giving us the courage to continue. If not for her, Dad and we might not have made it until now.”
Derrick was helpless.
Since Seraphina was lost, his mother was men tally ill, which was a fatal blow to their family.
They didn’t find hope in their life until Elva came.
They doted on Elva as if she was Seraphina. It became a habit.
Ervin didn’t speak. His eyes behind the gold wire frames were deeper.
Waldron was asleep from tiredness. Or else, he would fight with Derrick.
He was wondering whether he should tell Derrick about Waldron’s guess that Claudia was Seraphina. Suddenly, Derrick deleted the video.
The truth was erased.
Ervin frowned. “Derrick, it’s unfair to Claudia.”
“Yes. But I’m willing to taste my own medicine.” Derrick smiled brightly. He grew up under the sky, but he saw the hidden darkness.
“Claudia is trying to divorce Edmond. It’s said that she claims nothing from Edmond. She must be strapped now. I’ll compensate her with enough money.”
Derrick thought his idea was perfect. As long as he gave her enough money, she couldn’t refuse him.
Vouchers
Ervin sighed.
Seraphina was lost, which had a bad influence on Emily and the three brothers.
Derrick looked bright, but he would be bigoted when it came to his family.
Failing to convince him, Ervin handed a card to him. “I should compensate Claudia too.”
Derrick frowned in confusion.
“She was bullied by Gilda. I promised her to give her an explanation. Since you intend to compensate her, so do I.”
Derrick took the card without saying anything.
Ervin thought of the proud woman and glanced across the Black Card. “She probably won’t accept our kindness.”
On the contrary, she would have a bad impression of them.
“She won’t lose anything. She will get a fortune. Why won’t she be satisfied? It was Elva who slipped into the pool, not her,” Derrick
stated.
In his eyes, Claudia couldn’t refuse to take the money.
“She’s unusual.”
Ervin squinted his eyes and thought of how she waged a ti t-for-tat struggle against Gilda.
Claudia was like an unyielding rose.
He couldn’t imagine how such a woman like her could bear being
Edmond’s hidden wife for three years.
Thinking Waldron wanted to treat Claudia as his younger sister, Ervin held his tongue.
As long as Derrick could solve it, Ervin didn’t want Waldron to know the truth in case they were at enmity.
Ervin asked with curiosity suddenly, “Derrick, if Seraphina comes back and is in conflict with Elva, who will you help?”
Elva is so kind. She won’t be in conflict with Seraphina!” Derrick refuted.
“Not sure!” Ervin smiled meaningfully.
“Do you mean Seraphina is found?” Derrick’s eyes shone.
