Chapter 37 Intercept Him by All Means
Edmond didn’t continue the conversation and picked at the spaghetti and took a bite, moving with his usual grace.
The spaghetti with the chili was really different, and the heat rushed in, stinging the bottom of his eyes a little.
When he had done eating, Claudia offered to hand over a cup of coffee.
Edmond took it and sipped his coffee really leisurely.
Ten minutes later…
Claudia checked the time. The courthouse people should be at work now. She looked at the motionless Edmond, wondering if she should remind him that the courthouse people would be off soon.
Edmond’s lips curled into an intriguing smile when he saw her sitting out of nervousness.
Just then, her cell phone rang.
Seeing that it was Waldron, she hung up without hesitation.
Having decided to stay away from the Friedan family in the future, it was better not to contact them.
She thought that Waldron would stop calling her when she hung up, but Waldron still kept dialing over and over.
Edmond glanced coldly at her cell phone.
The cell phone was on the table, and he saw the caller ID.
12:02
Edmond thought that after divorcing himself, she would marry Waldron. It made him a little angry.
It was obvious that she was the one who cheated on him, but he was in no position to blame her.
“Why don’t you answer it?”
His tone was a little playful.
At Edmond’s searching gaze, she pressed the call button.
Waldron’s excited voice came out. “Where are you?”
There was a lump in his voice, a thrill in every word, long lost and excited.
Not knowing what had happened to him, nor not caring about it, she only returned faintly, “I thought I had made some things clear last night.”
“I know, I know, but things are different now. Claudia, I have good news for you, and it’s too much to tell on the phone. Just tell me where you are. I’ll pick you up and talk to you face to face.”
Waldron spoke quickly.
She was confused, glanced at Edmond, and finally whispered, “I’m not available in the morning. Pick me up at the courthouse at twelve o’clock.”
It was also a disguised reminder to Edmond.
“Go to the courthouse for what?” Waldron suddenly thought of something and raised his voice, “Oh, divorce! Divorce is good. Hurry up and divorce Edmond. I’ll introduce you to a better man then.”
“Thanks then,” Claudia hung up the phone and said to Edmond, “Let’s go get over there now. The procedures can be done by twelve o’clock in the afternoon.”
“Uh-huh.” Edmond got up with an expressionless face and walked briskly out.
Claudia closed the door and Edmond, whose back was to her, turned
around.
“Claudia.”
“Hmm?”
“In your mind, am I not even as good as Waldron?”
Claudia pursed her lips, unsure of what he meant by asking, and after a moment of silence, she said softly, “It’s hard to compare people. You have your good points, and he has his.”
“Oh?” Edmond raised an eyebrow in surprise. “So what’s good about me?”
Claudia immediately thought about it, but her mind was filled with his faults.
Cold, scu mmy, temperamental…
As the minutes ticked by, Edmond snorted.
Claudia said quickly, “You’re good-looking.”
Edmond was speechless.
“Forget it. Let’s go.” Edmond simply walked briskly to the car, and she had no choice but to get in.

Claudia was sitting in the back seat, facing out the window. She was quiet.
Edmond gave her a look and whispered, “If you don’t want a divorce, it’s not too late.”
Claudia thought, “I don’t want to see you making out with Rosalie.”
Claudia looked over with a cold face and said decisively, “I want a divorce.”
Her tone was icy cold.
Edmond shut up and closed his eyes.
The courthouse wasn’t far away, and Rosalie came this way early to wait.
Today was the day Edmond and Claudia got divorced, and Rosalie was going to come and see them get their divorce papers in person.
Rosalie’s eyes reddened with jealousy at the thought of this. Claudia was still Edmond’s wife.
Elva sent a message that Waldron went to get the test results and told Rosalie to figure out how to fix this.
She knew what Elva meant, and as long as she blocked this, then her family’s partnership with the Friedan family could continue.
She’d seen Elva’s tactics yesterday, and she might be able to turn things around if she wanted to.
She dialed a number and instructed the man there, “Did you stop Waldron?”
There was a grim male voice over there, and the sound of an engine
starting, like he was still driving.
“I’m following him. How am I supposed to stop him if you tell me to? I’m not a f ucking police car.”
“If Claudia’s cover is known, none of us will have a good day.” Rosalie’s eyes lowered sinisterly.
She thought.Claudia was just an ordinary woman before, but Claudia was actually the lost fourth daughter of the Friedan family. If Claudia’s status was exposed, she would be the first to be retaliated against by Claudia.
Rosalie would never let that happen.
Waldron had the test report in his hand.
The detective’s side also gave results that Claudia was ninety-nine percent likely to be Seraphina.
“Intercept Waldron by any means necessary,” Rosalie said viciously, “whatever it takes.”
“Rosalie, I can’t. You can’t blame me if he gets run over by me later.”
Thinking of Waldron’s humiliation, Rosalie sneered, “Whatever.”
Rosalie didn’t care if Waldron died because of her. She just wanted to achieve her goal.
Rosalie thought, “Elva only said to stop Waldron, but not to let me keep him alive.
Waldron humiliated me in front of so many people, and he was disregarding our childhood friendship, so why should I care if he lives or dies?
Sorry, Waldron.”

Waldron sat in his car, his hands trembling with excitement the whole
time.
The results were out!
Claudia was really his sister.
He found his sister!
He’d been looking forward to seeing her for more than twenty years. He thought, “If Mom and Dad and Derrick knew this, they would be very happy!”
The priority now was to get Claudia and bring her back to the Friedan family.
He was going to tell everyone in the family the good news.
Because of his nervousness and excitement, he didn’t see a large truck next to him rapidly approaching him and instead kept his eyes on the navigation system.
It was only three hundred meters from the courthouse…
Suddenly, there was a loud bang, and the big truck crashed…
Claudia had just gotten out of the car when she heard a loud noise in the distance.
Her heart suddenly pounced.
After a few steps, she saw two girls on bicycles approaching in discussion.
“It’s a crash!”
“It’s a limited-edition yellow sports car colliding with a big truck.”
“I guess the driver of the sports car didn’t look at the road. Nowadays, these people who drive luxury cars like to race the car the most.”
***
When Claudia heard about the limited edition convertible yellow car, she immediately thought of Waldron’s car.
She thought that she had asked Waldron to come to the courthouse.
It was not Waldron’s car, was it?
Claudia shakily dialed Waldron’s number.
It was soon put through.
“Hey, are you his family member?”
Claudia’s heart clenched. “Yes.”
