Chapter 112
Not far away, Sophia stood upright, trying to eavesdrop on her phone call.
Unfortunately, Sherry didn’t provide any useful information, and she barely responded.
On the phone, Mr. Sniper said, “Don’t hang up. Describe to me the settings in the
haunted house one by one, and I’ll help you find the mechanism to quickly escape.”
Sherry took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.

She glanced around and roughly described the scene, saying, “It’s a circular area with a
vampire theme, decorated with bats and withered branches.”
Mr. Sniper paused for a moment and whispered, “Vampires are symbols of demons in
the West, and the hexagram is their mark. Take a careful look around. Are there any
places with hexagrams?”
Finally, Sophia waited for Sherry to speak and leaned in gently, asking, “Sherry, who are
you talking to on the phone?”

Sherry immediately moved away from her, always maintaining a huge distance, and
focused on searching for the surrounding decorations.
Soon, she found a metal necklace on a desk, and the pendant was in the shape of a
hexagram.
“I found it. It’s a necklace.”
“Okay,” Mr. Sniper continued, “is there any completely dark place around?”
“Yes, in the left front corner of the wall.”
“There should be a vampire disguised as a real person coming out of there later. The
upper left position is the entrance to the formation. Stay away from there.”

“Alright.” Following Mr. Sniper’s instructions, Sherry gradually figured out the situation.
Just as she had seen a suspected door with a mechanism, she suddenly heard a
piercing scream in her ear: “Ahhh!”
Turning around, she saw that Sophia had somehow sneaked up behind her, looking

sneaky and unsure of what she wanted to do. Unfortunately, there was indeed a hidden
door in the dark area in front of her left, and there stood a “vampire” with a face covered
in blood, ominously floating behind her, scaring Sophia by surprise.
Sophia was so frightened that she lost her balance and sat directly on the ground. Her
ankle twisted, and she screamed in terror.
Sherry was well prepared and did not panic. She smoothly inserted the hexagram
pendant into the slot of the mechanism, and with a rumble, the secret door opened.
Sophia sat on the ground, pale with fear, and pleaded, “Sherry! Sherry, save me!”
Sherry glanced at the “vampire” and chuckled lightly. “You should go out. The next
scene will probably be even scarier, and it wouldn’t be good if you got too scared.”
Sophia gritted her teeth and stubbornly refused, “No, I must go in with you today.
Joseph is my little brother, and I have to find him.”
Then can you stand up and take a few steps first?”

How could Sophia possibly stand up?
Her ankles hurt so much, and despite her efforts, she couldn’t even kneel.

Sherry directly said to the “vampire,” “I’m sorry, she’s pregnant, and she sprained her
foot. Could you please find someone to escort her out? If she has a miscarriage inside,
it will be the responsibility of this haunted house.”
The “vampire” was also frightened upon hearing this and quickly took out a
walkie–talkie from his pocket to communicate with the staff outside: “There’s a
pregnant woman who fell inside; quickly send someone to escort her out… Yes, why
aren’t you watching? How could a pregnant woman be allowed in?”
Within a minute or two, several staff members arrived at the scene. They carefully
helped Sophia up, expressing their concern: “Miss, are you feeling alright? Do you need
us to take you to the hospital?”
Sophia’s plan had failed, and her disguise was torn apart. “I’m fine! I’m not leaving! I
want to stay and find my little brother! Let go of me!”

“I’m sorry, miss, but we have regulations here. Pregnant women are not allowed inside.
for safety reasons. We will send someone in to find your brother,” the staff members
explained.
“But you can’t let her in either!” Sophia pointed at Sherry and said, “She’s also pregnant!”
“Huh?” The staff members were all stunned and looked at Sherry. “Miss; are you also
pregnant? We apologize, but we have to follow the regulations. The haunted house
contains elements that could be too frightening and might affect you and your baby.”
Sherry blinked and whispered, “I don’t know her.”
The staff members were once again confused. “You don’t know her?”
“Sherry, you’re talking nonsense! You’re clearly my cousin! How can you not know me?”
“Miss.” Sherry’s face turned cold. “Ever since we entered the haunted house, you’ve
been sticking to me. You were talking non–stop to me. I didn’t say anything, as long as
you didn’t cause any trouble. But just now, you were sneaking around behind me. What
were you trying to do?”

Sophia froze, biting her lip as she defended herself. “I’m afraid of the dark! That’s why I
wanted to stand closer to you!”
“Oh, I see.” Sherry chuckled lightly. “Since you’re afraid of the dark, you should go out.
We’re complete strangers, and if something happens to you, wouldn’t that be
suspicious?”
Her sudden actions caught Sophia off guard. What are you playing at? Why are you
pretending not to know me?”
“I’m not pretending. There are surveillance cameras here. The staff can check the
footage from the moment we entered until you had your accident. Did I ever interact
with you? It was always you chattering away beside me. I sympathize with you being
pregnant, and it’s not easy, so I didn’t want to drive you away. I had to keep avoiding
you. If we knew each other, why would I ignore you?”
As soon as these words were spoken, the staff’s gaze toward Sophia changed slightly.
Just last month, there was a case where a pregnant woman intentionally played a
highly dangerous amusement ride and ended up having a miscarriage. It was

determined that the amusement park’s supervision and reminders were inadequate,
resulting in significant compensation for the pregnant woman.
With this precedent, the staff members became alert all at once.

Who would wear such high heels during pregnancy? And intentionally come to play in a
haunted house? What could be the ulterior motive?
Even Sophia’s expression started to show signs of panic, her eyes darting around,
indicating her feeling guilty.
Sherry sneered, “I don’t have money. Even if you try to extort me, I won’t be able to
compensate you.”
Although she may not possess any money, the amusement park does! A few staff
members promptly brought in a stretcher, their demeanor becoming more assertive.
“Miss, let us take you to the hospital immediately. Ensuring your safety and the safety of
your–child is of utmost importance.”
