Chapter 146
Who is Michelangelo? Sherry had never heard of him, but according to Mr. Sniper, he
should be a renowned ancient painter.
The painting on the phone had already caught Mr. Xavier and Paul’s attention. Sherry
finally escaped the awkwardness and breathed a sigh of relief. But the next second,
she was startled and choked on her water.
“Oh my god! This painting appears to be an authentic piece! Let me see.”
Sherry looked at Mr. Xavier, who was eagerly excited, and then glanced at the water
stain on her skirt. She sighed softly.
Regardless of whether Malcolm was present or not, she couldn’t enjoy this meal
anymore.
Mr. Xavier leaned over directly, sitting next to Mr. Sniper, and his eyes gradually turned
red. “This painting…”
“Do you think it’s genuine?”

“I’m 90% sure,” Mr. Xavier wiped his face. “In my lifetime, I never thought I would be able
to see an authentic Michelangelo painting.”
Mr. Sniper withdrew his phone with a smile. If Mr. Xavier wants to see it, I can have the
painting delivered directly to the Cultural Relics Bureau tomorrow.”
Mr. Xavier excitedly grabbed his hand and shook it vigorously. “Really? Can I borrow it
for a while? I promise to take good care of it without any damage or stains.”
Compared to Mr. Xavier’s excitement, Mr. Sniper remained calm. It seemed that he had
already anticipated this and had everything under control. “Of course, let’s consider this
painting as my donation. Michelangelo’s paintings are too rare. It’s a waste for only me
to appreciate them. Besides, I’m not an expert, just an enthusiast who can only admire
their beauty. It’s better to let an expert like Mr. Xavier take care of it.”
Mr. Xavier was overjoyed and had the impulse to be his best friend. He stood up and
poured a full glass of wine for both of them, then raised his glass to toast Mr. Sniper.
“Thank you so much. I have to thank you on behalf of the country.”
“Oh, no need to thank me. The authentic works of our ancestors belong to all the

descendants of our country.”
Mr. Xavier finished his drink in one gulp, his face turning red. He slapped the table and
said, “They’re all young men in their twenties, but why is there such a big difference?
Malcolm just stormed out in front of his elders without any manners. This young man
here is good, mature, and responsible. Most importantly, he has a sense of national
pride.”
Paul added at the right moment, “And he treats his girlfriend well too.”
“Yes, young lady, you have a good eye for people. I was a bit too hasty with my words
earlier. The original partner doesn’t matter; finding the right one is what’s most
important.”
“Mr. Xavier,” Mr. Sniper spoke up. “Valuable cultural relics of national significance were
unearthed from Mr. Ford’s land. I think we should dig deeper. Many national treasures
might still be buried underground, waiting to be discovered.”
Mr. Xavier took a sip of his drink, feeling a bit dizzy, but his mind was still clear. “Young
man, you’re right. We should dig deep into the ground!

Paul became a bit anxious. “What about my land?”
Mr. Sniper half–jokingly said, “Mr. Castillo’s land is too far away, and beneath the topsoil
is all granite. Our ancestors probably didn’t have the ability to blast through granite and
build a tomb. Mr. Xavier, don’t you agree?”
“That’s right. Ancient craftsmanship couldn’t reach that level. It seems that Mr.
Castillo’s land won’t yield anything valuable.” Mr. Xavier’s expression showed a hint of
regret. He was probably the only one present who genuinely hoped to find more relics.
However, today’s objective had been achieved, and Mr. Sniper decided to stop there.
When they finished their meal and were about to leave, everyone had a few drinks. Paul
called his driver to pick him up and take him and Mr. Xavier home. Mr. Sniper and
Sherry saw them off.
Except for Malcolm, everyone at the meal was very happy. Mr. Xavier obtained the
authentic work of Michelangelo that he had long desired, and Paul put his mind at ease,
waiting for the construction site to start.

Paul helped Mr. Xavier into the car and didn’t immediately get in himself.
He walked back and glanced at Sherry, but his gaze ultimately stopped on Mr. Sniper.
“This favor is so significant that saying thank you doesn’t seem enough, but I still have
to say it.”
Mr. Sniper embraced Sherry lightly and said softly, “Sherry has told me everything. Your
have taken care of her a lot since she was young, and it’s what I should do.”
“With your words, I can finally rest assured,” Paul sighed. “Camila and Sherry have
known each other since they were young. I have watched Sherry grow up. Her family
situation is quite complicated. It’s not easy for a young girl to shoulder the
responsibility of a household. Moreover, she is stubborn. It’s not easy for her to accept
money openly. So, I could only use my connections to find her some easy part–time
jobs. It didn’t really help much.”
Sherry was surprised. So, it was Mr. Castillo who had secretly helped her find those
part–time jobs before?
And even the job at Mateo’s company was also his introduction.

Mr. Sniper seemed to have known all along, remaining calm and composed. “I will repay
the favor on Sherry’s behalf. If Mr. Castillo has any needs in the future, just let me know.
I will help if I can.”
Paul waved his hand repeatedly. “You have given me this piece of land and helped me
deal with Malcolm. Once the shopping center is built, it will be a lucrative business. You
have given it all to me directly. What else can I ask for? It’s enough, really enough.”
“Mr. Castillo is the kind of businessman that we, the younger generation, should learn
from. You are generous, grateful, and reasonable.”
“What’s the use? Unfortunately, my daughter is like a devil reincarnated. She is not like
me or her mother. I don’t know who she takes after.”
However, Mr. Sniper had a different opinion. “Naturally talented individuals will find their
purpose. Camila is doing quite well at Morgan Entertainment. She has great insights
into managing artists and their fans. She might become a successful talent agent in
the future.”
“I can tell you’re only complimenting her because of Sherry,” Paul said with a wistful

smile. “I know my daughter well. She doesn’t have much potential for success. Let’s not
delve into this any further. I’ll accompany Mr. Xavier back now. Sherry, I appreciate your
kindness. Please visit our home more often for meals. Let my wife prepare some
delicious dishes to treat you. Are you fond of fish? Come over this weekend! We’ll have
a lavish feast with a whole fish specially prepared for you!”
