Chapter 159
Gianna, that name struck a chord.
She was the one who had given her the infertility examination form.
If all of this was connected… Sherry couldn’t help but shiver.
If Nora was truly behind all of this, then she would be making another significant
move…
“Sherry, are you okay?”
“I’m fine.”
Sherry’s expression was resolute. The pain had subsided, and she was no longer the
vulnerable housewife she used to be.

If her mother’s death was truly linked to Nora, along with the accumulation of new grievances and old grudges, she would not let Nora and her daughter get away with it.

“Mr. Sniper, besides Gianna’s identity, can we also find out what happened when my
mother passed away?”

Mr. Sniper replied, “It will take time. Only Gianna and the nurses present during the
operation know what transpired. Dylan is currently investigating the whereabouts of
those nurses, but nurses tend to move around more frequently than doctors, and it has
been over twenty years. Those nurses are also aging, so it won’t be easy to locate them
in a short period of time.”
Sherry stood up. “I want to go home.”
She was referring to the place where she used to live with her uncle when she was a
child.
She vaguely remembered that her mother’s medical records were still there.
Mr. Sniper held her hand. “I’ll take you there.”
The Jimenez family’s house was situated in an old shantytown on the outskirts of the city, a somewhat remote urban–rural junction Most people in Herzoslovakia City were

aware of its existence, but Mr. Sniper drove confidently, navigating through winding,
rrow roads and a maze–like residential area, and stopped in front of a row of

hat had turned white and faded from washing.
There were all sorts of people here, but they all shared one thing in common: extremely
poor economic conditions.
Mr. Sniper kept Sherry close to him so that onlookers wouldn’t bump into her.
A middle–aged woman in her fifties carrying a basket of eggs passed by and paused
slightly when she saw Sherry. “Are you that little girl from the Jimenez family?”
Sherry stopped and called out, “Madam Kate
Oh, it’s really you! I almost didn’t recognize you with your new look. I saw you on TV a
few days ago. You’ve made something of yourself, huh? Did you manage to get your
uncle out?”
The family situation was too complicated, and Sherry still had it on her mind. She
nodded. “Yes.”
“Ah, Noah finally made it through. His own daughter went abroad to study, and now his
niece is also successful and making money. It seems having daughters is better after
all. Our son, on the other hand, is still stuck at home playing games all day. It’s harder to
get him to go to work than to reach the sky.”
After exchanging a few pleasantries with Madam Kate, Sherry wanted to find an excuse
to leave.
But Madam Kate grabbed Mr. Sniper’s sleeve and asked, “Who is this? Oh, why is he still
wearing a mask?*
Sherry gently but firmly pushed Madam Kate’s hand away from Mr. Sniper’s sleeve and
explained, “He has a special identity, Madam Kate. We have something to attend to, so
we won’t chat with you for now.”

After saying that, she quickly pulled Mr. Sniper away.

Madam Kate muttered behind them, “Now that they have money, they look down on us
poor neighbors, huh? They’re all snobs! And she found a strange man, just like her
mother.”
The Jimenez residence had been unoccupied for a long time, and the front door was
cluttered with miscellaneous items left by other neighbors.
Mr. Sniper supported her to stand in a relatively safe spot; he personally moved all the
clutter that was taller than a person.
“Can you handle this? Let me help you.”
Mr. Sniper extended his hands in front of her and said, “Just stand there, Sherry. Can
you roll up my sleeves for me?”
“Oh, Sherry helped him roll up both sleeves to his elbows. Mr. Sniper touched her face,
chuckled lightly, and started working as a mover.
Sherry felt a bit sorry for his expensive shirt. Mr. Sniper was usually a bit of a clean
freak, but now he was bending down and moving these things, getting dirty all over.
Sherry felt a bit uneasy.
“Alright.”

Soon, Mr. Sniper cleared away all the clutter in front of the door, creating a pathway to
the entrance.
Sherry wanted to hold his hand, but Mr. Sniper moved his hand back and said, “No, my/
hands are dirty.”
“I don’t mind.” Sherry forcefully held his hand and led him to the front of the small
house.
It was an old–fashioned wooden door, without even a security door. The green paint on
it was already faded and peeling, with green paint marks on the ground.
Sherry took out the key from her bag and opened the door.

There was a musty smell in the house.
She covered her mouth and nose with her hand and walked in.
The small house was square–shaped, not exceeding ten square meters. Two wooden
beds were on either side of a curtain that divided it in the middle. The only furniture in
the house was an old–fashioned wardrobe and a dining table with a missing corner.
Three small stools were placed around the dining table, which seemed to be nailed
together with wooden boards.
“Um…” Sherry felt a bit embarrassed. “The house is too small. Maybe you should wait
outside while I look for my mother’s medical records and come out.”
Mr. Sniper raised an eyebrow. “You’re not welcoming me?”
“It’s not that.” Sherry still felt a bit inferior. “My home… is not very decent.”
“Regardless of whether it’s decent or not, this is where you grew up. I want to take a
look,” he said.

Since he had put it that way, Sherry had no reason to argue.

Moreover, in the rural–urban fringe, there were many people around, and several people
had already noticed Mr. Sniper’s mask and were whispering and pointing at him. Mr.
Sniper didn’t seem to mind, but Sherry didn’t want him to endure such malice.
People’s malice could always be infinite, and she knew this very well.
The height of the door was a bit low for Mr. Sniper, and he had to bend down to enter.
The room still had a pull–string light, Sherry closed the door, pulled the string, and the
white energy–saving light on the ceiling lit up dimly, with no difference whether it was
on or off.
“It’s not much different from before, still the same,” Mr. Sniper observed as he glanced
around.
The small room was undoubtedly cramped, and a single glance was enough to take in
the entire space.
Sherry was surprised. “Have you been to my house before?”
“I haven’t been inside,” Sniper replied. “I’ve caught glimpses of it from a distance a few
times, so I remember the way. The woman, Madam Kate, who was just talking to you,
lives in the house next to your neighbor’s.”
Sherry was amazed. He was right.
Madam Kate lived on the left side of the Jimenez family, with only one household in
between.
“She’s quite nosy,” Mr. Sniper commented. “It’s best to minimize your interactions with
