Chapter 169
Sophia was seething with anger. “Lobster? Does she really think she’s the young lady of
the Wilson family?”
“That’s correct,” Nora sneered. “Alice is useless, but her daughter is becoming more
impressive.”
Sophia grabbed Nora’s hand and said, “Mom, why should you cook lobster for her?
>
You’re the elder, she’s the younger. If she wants to eat, let her cook it herself.”
Sophia could be stubborn, but Nora couldn’t.
With a serious expression, Nora said, “We still don’t know what Sherry is planning to do
next. Her counterattack came too fast, catching us off guard. We can’t act recklessly.
We need to quietly observe and see what she intends to do next so that we can strike
back effectively.”
Sophia angrily sat on the sofa and restlessly said, “No, I can’t stand living under the
ame roof as her, I want to move out.
“My dear, where are you going so late? The media outside would love to capture your
bare–faced appearance. If you go out now, you’ll be playing right into Sherry’s hands.”
Sophia was both angry and anxious. “So we’re just going to watch her show off? Mom, I
have nothing left now. Malcolm doesn’t want to marry me, and even David doesn’t value
me much anymore. Why is life so unfair?”
Nora sighed helplessly.
There are many unfair things in this world. How could everything go as one wished?
Even when she was with David, she paid a great price.
Fortunately, now she has achieved her goal.
After cooking the lobster, Nora asked Sophia to go back to her own room and knocked
on Sherry’s door while holding the lobster.
“Come in.” It was David’s voice.
He had been in Sherry’s room and hadn’t come out yet.
Nora furrowed her brows slightly but quickly adjusted her expression. With a gentle
smile, she pushed open the door and said, “Sherry, the lobster is ready. You should eat it
while it’s hot.
“Put it aside for now.” David didn’t even turn around, pointing to the small coffee table
next to him. “Sherry will have it later.”
Nora paused for a moment, her fingers turning slightly pale.
David sat at his desk wearing a pair of reading glasses, with a large blueprint spread out
in front of him. Various tools, such as rulers and compasses, were scattered on top as
he explained something to Sherry.
Sherry stood by his side, slightly bending her waist, attentively listening and
occasionally nodding in agreement, looking like a very eager student.
The atmosphere between the two seemed very harmonious, just like a loving father
and–daughter.
Nora’s smile slowly faded. “The lobster is best consumed while it’s still hot. If it cools

down, it might have a slightly fishy smell.”

Upon hearing this, Sherry smiled first and said to Nora, “Thank you, Nora. I’ll eat it now.”
“In the future, it’s better not to call me Nora. It sounds too distant. Just call me Nora.”
“I’m younger, so it’s better to show some respect,” Sherry said. “It’s the same for you.
David’s lesson today has been very helpful to me. I used to know nothing about this
field. People always said how amazing David is, but I never felt anything. Today, when
you explained the design of this blueprint to me, I realized how complex and
demanding it is. You truly deserve the title of master!”
David burst into laughter. “You little girl, you speak so well. If you want to learn, I can
give you more lessons when I have free timel
“Thank you, David.”
No need to thank me. Go and eat the food. Nora especially had it brought back from
abroad for Sophia. The quality is excellent!
“Okay.”
Sherry smiled and took the lobster from Nora’s hand, eating it slowly.
She casually asked, “I’ve never had lobster before, so I can’t judge its quality. I just think
it tastes really good. I wonder which country Nora had it brought back from?”
Nora evasively replied, “I forgot too. My friend often travels around, and whenever she
sees lobster, she buys it and sends it to me. I envy her freedom.”
She didn’t even want to mention the origin.
Sherry smiled and said, “It’s enviable to have a spontaneous trip. But we are women after all, with the traditional values of being a good wife and mother. Nora, your life is already good. You have your husband and children by your side, one famous and the other obedient. You can consider yourself a winner in life; there is no need to envy her.”
David took off his reading glasses and added “Yes, Nora’s life now is much better than before. When I first met her, she had a very difficult life. It’s all thanks to me.”
“Did David and Nora meet abroad? The days studying abroad must have been tough,
right?”
“No, we met in person. At that time, she was still-”
Seeing that David was about to reveal everything about their past, Nora quickly
interrupted, saying, “Those were things from our youth. It’s not interesting to bring them
up now. Sherry, don’t just talk; finish your food so I can wash the dishes.”
Being interrupted, David seemed to realize something, and his face turned serious. He
stood up and said, “It’s getting late; I have to go to work tomorrow. I’ll go take a shower
and sleep. Sherry, you should rest early too.”
“Okay.”
David left the small room and went downstairs. David and Nora’s room was on the first
floor.
As his footsteps slowly faded away at the end of the stairs, only Sherry and Nora
remained in the small room.
Without David present, there was no need to pretend anymore, and talking became
easier.
Nora finally understood, “You deliberately did so many things and moved in here to
investigate the past, right? You want to avenge your mother?”
“Nora, it’s the right thing to do, isn’t it?”
“It’s only natural for a daughter to seek revenge for her mother. But let me advise you:
your mother’s death has nothing to do with me. Don’t mistake the target.”
Sherry’s expression turned cold, and then she smirked slackly. “Whether it is relevant to
you or not, I will investigate it myself. It would be preferable if it had no connection to
you. However, if there is even the slightest link, I assure you that your future will be far
from pleasant.”
Nora chuckled softly and glanced at the bowl in Sherry’s hand. “It seems you won’t be
consuming this lobster soup anymore. Are you afraid I might have poisoned it?”
You wouldn’t You are not capable of such foolish actions
“At least you possess a brain.”
Sherry commented, “However, Mrs. Wilson, Sophia may not possess the same
characteristic. It is indeed unfortunate. You are so intelligent, yet regrettably, your
daughter lacks intelligence.”
