Chapter 78 Abortion
Chapter 78
Sherry was skilled when it came to household chores.

With both of her uncles busy making money since she was young and Sophia not being
the type to do any housework, she took care of all the household chores herself,
cooking and doing laundry for four people. Later, when she married into the Ford family,
her mother-in-law, Violet, was just as demanding. But did she let that stop her?
Violet might say that she couldn’t bear children, but she would never say that Sherry
wasn’t a dutiful daughter-in-law.
She quickly picked up the large pieces of debris and set them aside, then used a broom
to sweep the rest of the small pieces to one side. Finally, she used a dry mop to roughly
clean the liquid off the floor.
“Alright,” Sherry said, wiping the sweat off her forehead. “It’s almost time. You guys
should go up on stage quickly, or Mr. Mateo will get angry if you’re late.”
Just the thought of Mateo’s temper made the car models feel uneasy, so they hurriedly

went to the exhibition hall to make the final preparations.

Once they had all left, she went to clean the mop and then wiped the entire floor again,
patiently waiting for it to dry.
At exactly ten o’clock, the car exhibition officially began.
The host was energetic and passionate as he introduced today’s featured car models.
Sherry leaned against the side and listened quietly, truly marveling at how difficult it
was to make money.
The host had to use so many words to introduce a car, and it really wasn’t an easy job
without some education.
Lost in her thoughts, she suddenly heard the sound of footsteps in leather shoes
coming from the entrance.
Who would come backstage at this time? Mateo?

Sherry furrowed her brows and became alert, knowing that dealing with Mateo wouldn’t
be easy.
But when the person appeared at the backstage entrance, Sherry’s impatience turned
into fear. “Why are you here?”
“Why can’t I come here? I came to see the cars; is that not allowed?” Malcolm strolled in
with a relaxed attitude, his eyes scanning the entire backstage dressing room.
“Surprised to see me? Sherry, who did you think it was? Mateo?”
Sherry held the mop in front of her defensively. “Mr. Ford, do you have something to
discuss with me here?”
“Can’t I come to you when I have nothing to do?” Malcolm approached me step by step.
“Sherry, let me tell you again, we are still husband and wife. It is only natural for me to
come to you. It’s impossible for you to be with Mateo.”
Sherry’s face turned cold. “I have nothing to do with Mr. Mateo.”
“Then… what about the masked man?”
Sherry trembled all over, looking at him incredulously.
Malcolm chuckled lightly. “Sherry, why are you so nervous? Did I hit the nail on the
head? That masked man is the one you’re with, right? Ah, I really feel sorry for Mateo.
He means nothing to you.”
Sherry took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and said, “Malcolm, what’s the point of you
coming to bother me? Sophia and her child are the ones you should be concerned
about, right? Can’t we part ways amicably?”
“No. Sherry, I didn’t agree to break up. We have to be tied together for the rest of our
lives; whether it’s Mateo or the masked man, none of you can be together.”
Sherry dodged Malcolm’s hand, reaching out to grab her, agilely moving to the other
side of the dressing table, facing him across the table. “Why are you doing this? Don’t
you plan to give Sophia and the child proper status?”
“Why are you still considering her? She stole your husband, took away the position of
Mrs. Ford, and now you’re working so hard just to make money? Listen to me; come
back to us; at least you don’t have to work so hard.”

Sherry shook her head firmly. “I really like my job. The position of Mrs. Ford has no value
to me anymore. Whoever likes it can take it. Mr. Ford, let me remind you that this is not
your car. There are surveillance cameras backstage. It’s better not to mess around.”
After listening, Malcolm found it amusing. “Yes, I do want to be with you, but that
doesn’t mean I’ve lost my sanity and let instinct control my body. I came here today just
to persuade you one last time, Sherry, to come back. I won’t marry Sophia. Her child
didn’t miscarry this time, but if you don’t like it, I can find a way to get rid of the child.
Without Sophia and without the child, I promise you that we can move out and not have
to serve my mother. What reason do you have not to come back to me?”
“Mr. Ford, don’t you think you’re being unreasonable? Our marriage is over. It has
nothing to do with anyone else; it’s just that we are not compatible. No, it should be that
I am not worthy of being Mrs. Ford. Sophia, with her high education and overseas
background, is the best candidate for Mrs. Ford. Moreover, Sophia’s mother has
returned to Herzoslovakia City and will soon visit the Ford family. Your affairs have
already alarmed the elders, and I kindly remind you that Sophia’s mother and her
stepfather are quite influential. If you want to abandon her, it won’t be so easy.”
Malcolm shrugged it off. “Influential? I, Malcolm, am also a well-known figure in

Herzoslovakia City. Who can force me to get married? As long as I don’t want to, no one
has the ability to force me.”
“Don’t be so sure until you formally meet the parents.”
Malcolm suddenly exerted force, grabbing Sherry’s wrist and pulling her into his arms.
*Sherry, come with me to the hospital.”

“What are you doing? Let go of me!” Sherry struggled desperately. “Malcolm, if don’t
let go, I’ll call for help!”
“Go ahead and call. It’ll be a good opportunity for Mateo to see if he still wants to use
you.
Sherry became furious and kicked him directly. “Stop acting crazy!”
“You’re going with me to the hospital for a medical procedure! Sherry, terminate the
pregnancy and have another child for me!”
“You must be dreaming!”

The door to the backstage dressing room was forcefully kicked open.
Mateo stood at the doorway with a cold demeanor, blocking their path. He smirked and
said, “Mr. Ford, why didn’t you greet me upon your arrival? If you like that car, I can give
it to you. Don’t make things difficult for my employee.”
Sherry clenched her teeth and struggled, but Malcolm held her tightly. With ease, he
lifted her onto his shoulder.
Her stomach pressed against his muscular shoulder, and Sherry gasped in fear. She
was still pregnant.
Malcolm showed no signs of weakness, as if he intended to confront Mateo directly.
“Mr. Mateo, your employee is also my wife. I’m simply taking her on a leave of absence
to go to the hospital.”
“To the hospital? Is she unwell?”
“Of course not.” Malcolm chuckled coldly. “Mr. Mateo isn’t aware yet? Sherry is carrying
someone else’s child, and I’m taking her to have an abortion.”
