Cohen seemed both believing and unbelieving.
However, considering Kylie’s recent difficulties in managing Galaxy Group, where all executives were indifferent to her and she faced obstacles at every turn, Cohen thought that Kylie wanted to use Perla to make the executives listen to her.
Kylie had only so much capability, and he thought she could create a big wave on her
own.
“Perla has been at Galaxy Group for many years. She naturally is more experienced than you, who just arrived. If you want to manage Galaxy Group, promoting Perla is your best move.” Cohen looked proud.
“I’ll take your word for it.” Kylie agreed, but her mind was full of irony.
If she promoted Perla, it would be inviting the wolf into the house.
“By the way, the last time I introduced you to Jarvis…”
“My private matters are none of your concern.” Kylie hung up the phone.
After hanging up, the phone rang again.
Kylie did not answer.
She then received a message from Sergio, [Just now, Perla called me and said you promoted her to general manager. I’m glad you and Perla have buried the hatchet. You and Perla are sisters by blood. It’s really not good for the two of you to be at odds because of me. I would feel guilty.]
Kylie deleted the message immediately.
Some people were really shameless.
At Hayden Group…
After Ethan finished a high–level meeting, he returned to his office.
Derick handed him black coffee and reported on the upcoming work.
After the report, he said, “I just heard news from Galaxy Group. Kylie has appointed Perla as the general manager.”
Ethan paused, tapping the keyboard with his fingers.
“Should we check if Kylie is being threatened by the Stafford family?”

“Let’s not rush.” Ethan’s eyes flickered. He had some thoughts in mind. “Let’s observe for now.”
“Yes.”
Ethan redirected his attention to the computer. He then said slowly, “My grandfather’s birthday is on the 17th of next month.”
“Yes, the invitations for his birthday have all been sent out,” Derick said respectfully. “Is there anything he needs?”
“No.” Ethan shook his head.
Derick did not ask further.
He saw that Ethan was hesitating, seeming to gather immense courage before he edited a message and sent it out.
Kylie frowned.
Thinking that it was Sergio again, she was about to set her phone to silence.
[Are you available on the 17th of next month?]
Kylie pursed her lips.
She silently read Ethan’s message.
[Yes.] She replied with just one word.
Every night, Ethan had a nutritious dinner sent to her, making it hard for her to refuse.
She thought that he wanted to treat her to a meal.
Kylie decided to agree with him.
[It’s a deal.]
Kylie’s lips curved.
Through the screen, it seemed like she could see Ethan’s somewhat excited expression.
She took a deep breath.
Could she really believe it again?
Perla became the general manager of Galaxy Group. Initially, she thought Kylie would not be so kind. After hearing her father’s explanation and seeing that Kylie had not caused any trouble for her in the past half–month, she relaxed a bit.

However, after becoming the general manager, she felt even more idle than when she was the design director. There wasn’t much work in the studio that required her attention.
Galaxy Group’s most urgent matter now was the design for the next quarter, but the design department was under Kylie’s control.
Naturally, she had secretly given a heads–up. She did not believe that Kylie, on her own, could produce satisfactory results this month. Once Kylie failed, she had a way to make Kylie unable to stay at Galaxy Group.
Her phone suddenly rang.
Perla answered, “Salma?”
“Are you off work?”
Perla checked the time. It was only three in the afternoon. “Still over two hours.”
“Can’t you get off early? I want you to come out and go shopping with me.” Salma was a little displeased.
Perla hesitated.
-It was fine before. She did not even need to inform her father when she skipped work.
Now that Kylie was in charge of Galaxy Group, she worried that Kylie would deliberately make things difficult for her if she skipped work. However, she could not afford to offend Salma. To marry Sergio smoothly, she had to please this woman.
After weighing the options, Perla agreed. “I’ll be right out. Where are you shopping?”
“Sio International Mall.”
“I’ll be there in 20 minutes,” Perla said.
After hanging up, Perla drove to the destination.
Meanwhile…
Kylie sat in her office working on design drafts when her phone rang.
She glanced at it casually, put down the design she was working on, and answered the call, “Mr. Hayden?”
“When can we change the address?” She listened to the familiar voice, low and magnetic.

“Mr. Hayden, how would you like me to address you? Ethan? Or do you have other nicknames?” Kylie asked.
Ethan did not expect Kylie to be so accommodating. He hesitated for a moment and then smiled. “It seems like those addresses are the same, except…”
“Except what?”
“Calling me husband.” His tone was calm and carried a hint of a tingling voice.
Kylie was speechless.
“Don’t rush. You’ll change it slowly in the future.” He seemed unbothered.
Kylie pursed her lips.
Ethan’s skin was really thick.
She ignored Ethan’s words and asked, “What do you want with me today?”
“Are you free now?”
“No.”
“Jos is looking for you.”
“Mr. Hayden…”
“I told you before to clear your schedule for the 17th, didn’t I?”
“Today is only the 15th.” Kylie deliberately checked the calendar.
“The 17th is an important day, and you need to dress up for it. If you can, help me pick an outfit for Jos. Let him try it on to see if it fits. I have an international meeting soon and can’t postpone it.” Ethan stated his purpose, adding, “John has already brought Jos over to you. If everything goes well, he should be there by now.”
There wasn’t even a chance for her to refuse, and Jos was already on the way to her.
“I appreciate it.”
With that, Ethan hung up the phone directly.
Kylie took a deep breath, trying to remain calm.
She saved the design draft, shut down her computer, picked up her bag, and left the office.

Joseph’s little face pasted to the window. When he saw her, his round eyes lit up. He became excited. “Mommy!”
The crisp and tender voice was truly soothing.
Kylie could not help but quicken her pace.
Alright…
She had to admit that although she did not like Ethan’s domineering attitude, she had actually missed Joseph during the past half–month.
They arrived at Sio International Mall, the most luxurious mall in the city.
Kylie held Joseph’s hand and went straight to the evening gown section.
As soon as she entered, she saw Perla and Salma coming toward her.
The two were selecting custom–made evening gowns with the assistance of a salesgirl, chatting as they went.
“You used to dislike Mr. Hayden, right? And you still have to dress up for his grandfather’s 70th birthday?” Perla teased Salma.
“Who said I’m dressing up for Mr. Hayden? I’m doing it for myself.” Salma looked proud, adding, “And, of course, to dazzle everyone at the event.”
“You’re so beautiful, with a great figure. Once you step in, you’ll definitely be the center of attention…”
Perla’s words were cut off as she noticed Kylie.
Kylie was holding the hand of a little boy, chatting comfortably with a salesgirl, as if she had not noticed them.
