Taking His Son to Back Her Up by Vicky Woods Chapter 264

Chapter 264

The recording played in front of everyone.

First, a deep voice of a middle-aged man came. “Manipulating securities in the name of Mr. Hayden to raise funds. If he finds out, I’m done for sure.

“Don’t worry, he won’t find out,” another male voice, younger and more composed, reassured.

“I dare not.” The middle-aged man’s voice appeared again.

“You don’t want the money?” said the younger man, threatening.

“Mr. Hayden pays us well. My ambitions aren’t that big, the middle-aged man refused.

“Is that so? What about this?” The man seemed to take out something, and moans could be heard from it, easily discerning what it was.

The middle-aged man sounded urgent. “How did you… how did you get that?”

“If your affairs with women are exposed, playing with several at once, do you think you can stay at Hayden Group? I heard

man said. your mother has cancer abroad, and the monthly treatment costs are several thousand dollars… the younger

“Stop it, the middle-aged man compromised and pleaded. “What do you want me to do?”

Very simple, we’ve created a fake WhatsApp account for Ethan, you use it to contact investors closely associated with him. I believe you know which of Hayden Group’s collaborations are valuable and which are not, the younger man instructed,

“But once these people are scammed, they’ll definitely go to Mr. Hayden.” The middle-aged man was deeply concerned..

“Don’t worry about that. Once they give the money, I have ways to make them swallow the loss silently.” The younger man showed his arrogance.

“But…” The middle-aged man kept skeptical:

“Just like today with you, would you dare refuse me?” the younger man confidently said.

“Fine,” the middle-aged man finally agreed.

The recording ended at this moment. There were discussions again in the courtroom. It was uncertain whether the recording was genuine or fake since no one could be identified by the voice after all. No names were mentioned thro clearly indicating both parties were very cautious.

George walked up to the presiding judge. “From this, it can be seen that my client was merely used as a scapegoat; he w not aware of the situation. I believe, Your Honor, and the bench, have heard clearly that one of the voices belongs to someone present, Keith Honor.”

Since the moment Keith heard the recording, his face had been changing. Now, being pointed out by George, his face turned pale. His lips trembled, and he struggled to say anything, obviously frightened. “This… this isn’t me, it’s not!” Keith tried to calm down. “I’ve never recorded anything. I don’t know how this came about. You’re falsely accusing me!”

“Your Honor.” Adam stood up from his seat, speaking. “I carefully examined the evidence provided by the defense. First, there are no issues with the income and expenditures in Ethan’s account. However, we cannot rule out the possibility that Ethan transferred this money to others, such as his family or a third party. We cannot simply conclude that he did not illegally profit solely based on his account. Second, the investigation evidence from Keith and Stevenson can fully prove their involvement, and they also admitted it themselves. So, their accusations in court today can be considered valid evidence. Third, I also listened carefully to this recording. Without confirming whether the voice in the recording is Keith, I know that in this modern age, voice imitation is easily achievable. Even if it was recorded by Keith, I strongly suspect someone forced him to record this voice. In summary, I believe the evidence presented by the defense cannot be considered credible testimony in today’s court.” Adam presented his argument eloquently.

Chapter 264

Again, there was some restlessness in the courtroom. Kylic clenched her fists tighter, growing increasingly tense. She knew Adam couldn’t be simply representing the prosecution in this trial. Adam was fearless to be in this courtroom and must have conspired with the Garner family.

“Don’t panic.” Quintina could feel Kylie’s tension. She whispered softly in her ear, “The evidence provided by Ethan is indeed insufficient to prove his innocence. Adam is just being objective; he refuted from a standpoint I would also question. He’s not showing favoritism.” Kylie bit her lip as she listened. Quinting continued, “Also, if Ethan is truly innocent, it’s better for him to clear his suspicion in court, to avoid unnecessary trouble later on.”

Kylie nodded, silently agreeing. She knew Quintina was right. Kylie’s lack of composure was simply because Ethan was at a disadvantage, and she genuinely didn’t know if she could accept an unfavorable verdict. The suppressed emotions seemed to unravel at this moment. The emotions that had been suppressed all along seemed to unravel at this moment. To be precise, from the moment she learned about his detention and arrest, the defensive walls within her heart began to crumble, and now, all the strength, composure, and steadiness were nothing but her facade. During this period, the person she thought about the most was Ethan. She longed for his release. Once he was out, they could start anew. She wanted to make amends for what she had owed him. Time and time again, she pushed him away, disregarding everything, all for the sake of her own interests. This was her indebtedness to him.

During a moment of silence in the courtroom, as the presiding judge was about to speak, George spoke up in advance. He seemed dumbfounded by Adam’s earlier words, appearing as if he was the subject of ridicule. But now, as if suddenly injected with energy, George spoke up, “I will address the prosecuting attorney’s questioning from earlier. The claim that relying solely on my client’s account details is insufficient is baseless. The so-called unexplained income that supposedly didn’t enter my client’s pocket. Here, I have a detailed account statement of the fund flow.” Saying this, George pulled out another document.

Everyone looked at George in surprise. This implied that the mastermind behind framing Ethan was identified. They now knew who that person was.

th and Stevenson’s accounts, was divided into twenty other accounts, “The remaining money, apart from the profits in each flowing into the names of different individuals or companies. Here’s a list. Please review it, Your Honor, the bench, and the prosecution.” George respectfully handed it over.

“The evidence not submitted to the court in advance can be refused,” the presiding judge suddenly said sternly.

Obviously, what George held in his hands now was the real bombshell, the key to this case. But, no one knew why this evidence wasn’t submitted earlier considering that it could reverse the case. According to court rules, the presiding judge had the authority to reject temporarily submitted evidence. If there was progress in the case and it hadn’t been submitted in advance, the trial could be suspended, the evidence resubmitted and the case rescheduled for another hearing.
