Taking His Son to Back Her Up by Vicky Woods Chapter 268

Chapter 268

“Do what is within your capabilities, and that’s the best strategy, Adam affirmed once again.

“Yes.” Ethan nodded. “Fortunately, everything about this case has been revealed through the actions of Stella and Brandon. The first recording presented by Mr. Montgory, the one involving Keith and Brandon, was obtained by hacking into Keith’s phone, which led us to Brandon. Subsequently, I identified my virtual IP on his phone, compiled the list of victims, and traced the flow of funds in their bank accounts using some banking information found on their phones. Finally, utilizing my relationship with the Garner family, I obtained all the video evidence I needed,” summarized Ethan, outlining the logical progression of the investigation. He then admitted, “I am the anonymous whistleblower in this case.”

As his words spilled, a buzz of shock filled the courtroom. Whistleblowing on oneself was an unprecedented move, likely to be recorded in history as a successful case for textbooks.

“Order!” said the presiding judge, restoring order to the court.

Adam questioned Ethan to confirm the facts, “You were the anonymous whistleblower?”

“Yes, after collecting all the evidence, I reported it to the highest prosecution authority,” Ethan replied,

“Why did you report yourself when you already have conclusive evidence proving your innocence?” Adam asked.

“Because only by reporting myself could I make the other party drop their guard and bring the whole truth to light. I was afraid that as soon as I submitted my evidence, it would be covered up,” explained Ethan. “I had to resort to this method, this public method, to protect myself and bring the mastermind to justice.” With that statement, Ethan ended his explanation.

Surprisingly, applause erupted in the courtroom, continuing for a long time to warmly acknowledge Ethan’s cleverness. For the Garners to dare to go this far in secret, one could only imagine their level of power. Ethan, by submitting the evidence, not only couldn’t achieve the desired results, but he might also end up being manipulated or even killed by the Garners. The only way to deceive the Garners was to make himself the target. People in the courtroom couldn’t help but marvel at Ethan’s wisdom once again.

“This is undoubtedly the best way for you to achieve the desired effect. However, Ethan, do you know that your private investigation in this series has violated many legal regulations, many of which are expressly prohibited in our country?” Adam spoke slowly, instantly tightening the atmosphere. Everyone looked at him. He continued, Illegally monitoring others’ private devices, exposing others’ privacy without authorization… this series of actions may lead to legal consequences for you.”

“I object.” George raised an objection. “Everything my client did was to ensure his safety. It was legitimate self-defense, and should not be subject to legal repercussions.”

Adam didn’t say much, just stated, “I am expressing my views on this case. Whether it constitutes a crime or not will be decided by the presiding judge and the bench. I have finished my questions.”

*Please return to your position, prosecutor. Does the defense lawyer need to elaborate further?” the presiding judge said.-

“Yes.” George nodded.

“You may proceed,” the presiding judge agreed.

George walked over to Keith and Stevenson. While the physical evidence was conclusive, the testimonies were not yet fully confirmed. “Keith, Stevenson. I believe you have seen all the evidence provided by us. The criminal acts between you and. Brandon need no questioning. Now, in the Supreme Court, we hope that you confess and cooperate. Considering your sincere attitude and admission of guilt, the judge may show leniency in your sentencing.”

Keith and Stevenson’s faces had long turned pale. They knew there was no need to lie at this moment. Despite George’s threatening words, they faced no opposition from the prosecution. George sternly asked, “Have you, in the name of my client, engaged in illegal securities manipulation and assisted the illegal forces in money laundering?”

“Yes,” both confessed.

“Was your behavior consistent with the evidence provided by us George continued.

“Yes,” Keith and Stevenson confessed again.

“Is it true that Brandon Gamer has been collaborating with you, manipulating from behind?” George asked.

“Yes. The two dared not hide anything.

“Very well. George turned to the presiding judge. “Based on the evidence we provided and the suspects’ admission, there is no criminal act on our part in this case. We request an acquittal. Our statement is complete.”

“Please return to your seat, defense lawyer, the presiding judge instructed.

George sat down.

The presiding judge stood up. “Court adjourned for half an hour and the bench will make the final judgment on this case.” He finished his words. As the judge and the bench left together, the courtroom buzzed with discussion.

Kylie’s tense heart finally began to relax. Regardless of whether Ethan’s investigation crossed legal boundaries, those were minor offenses that wouldn’t result in severe punishment. For her, as long as Ethan didn’t die or face lifelong imprisonment, she seemed willing to accept anything.

“I told you Ethan couldn’t have done anything illegal. Damn, it scared me. But today, Ethan’s performance was indeed brilliant. I knew he was brilliant, but I didn’t expect him to be this intelligent! Once again, he has refreshed my understanding of him,” Xavier praised.

From start to finish, the plot twisted dramatically, unveiling the truth in a thrilling manner.

“Ethan is indeed amazing,” agreed Joel, unable to resist teasing himself, saying, “If I had a bit of his abilities, my parents would probably wake up laughing even if they were asleep.”

“That’s not necessarily true,” Xavier joked. “If Ethan weren’t so outstanding, could he have stirred up so much trouble? Would many people be eyeing him? So, being too excellent may not always be a good thing. Those like us, born at the pinnacle. and living an ordinary life, that’s the true path to happiness.”

“I give your speech a full score,” complimented Joel, giving a thumbs up, Jaelynn listened from the side, chuckling softly, appearing charming and demure.

“So, one must live with openness, and clarity, and not insist too much. Learn to let go, Xavier said nonchalantly. “That’s when life becomes truly happy.”

“Yes, indeed. We should learn to let go,” Joel echoed softly.

“Once Ethan is acquitted, let’s go sing and drink tonight, and celebrate properly.” Xavier could not be in a serious manner too long.

Before Joel could respond, Kylie spoke up, “No. Ethan’s health is currently not great. We need to go back and take good care of him. He can’t drink.”

Both Xavier and Joel stared at Kylie, causing her face to turn red. She didn’t consider herself saying anything wrong.

“We understand. A short separation is better than a new love. We won’t disturb your good time!” Xavier and Joel laughed with a sly expression.
