“I’m stating facts,” said Zola.
“Let me tell you another fact. If you don’t formally apologize to Korona today, don’t think about leaving the TV station,” the actress threatened.
Zola’s eyes narrowed showing her anger.
“Let’s see who can outlast whom.” The actress blocked her path triumphantly
Zola adjusted her emotions inwardly, thinking. If this happened three years ago, I would have kicked the person in front of ine away without hesitation. Such annoying bitch! But now, Zola admitted that she didn’t dare. She couldn’t afford to offend anyone. No one.
In the standoff. Zola’s phone suddenly rang. She looked at the incoming call, wanting to answer it, but the actress snatched it away. “Apologize first, or you won’t be allowed to answer the phone!”
Zola gritted her teeth. She walked towards Korona, bowing ninety degrees. “I’m sorry!
“Sorry for what?” the actress threatened.
“Sorry for taking your last spot for advancement, Zola continued
“Admitting it? Admitting that you used the back door?” The actress kept pushing
“Everything you guys said is correct. Zola gave in. Since a few words wouldn’t cost her much, she surprised everyone by accepting it without the arrogance and aura she used to have.
“Now, can I have my phone back and leave?” Zola asked the actress.
The actress glanced at Korona, who nodded. Then she returned the phone to Zola, leaving a threatening remark, saying, “Don’t let us see you again.” Then they walked away proudly.
Zola watched them leave and finally breathed a sigh of relief. She quickly redialed the missed call. “Why you called?” She still wasn’t used to calling Cheryl “Mom” or any other term. They were still awkward with each other.
“Did you finish recording? How did it go? When can you come home for dinner? I made your favorite…” Cheryl’s voice came

“Recording is done, and Tadvanced. I’ll be back in a while, probably in half an hour,” replied Zola.
“Okay, we’ll wait for you for dinner,” said Cheryl.
