Chapter 400
Zola briskly exited Leopold’s bedroom.
After a couple of circuits, she finally located a laundry room tucked away in a corner.
Stuffing her clothes inside, she pressed the button, only to find it would take nearly two hours.
Suddenly, memories flooded back of Joel vomiting all over Leopold three years prior, after he had been sent to her house. Leopold, in turn, had waited in front of her dryer for two hours
How the tables had turned.
Zola remained holed up in the laundry room.
Meanwhile. Leopold made no effort to check on her.
He reckoned she must have gone to bed after his shower.
After all, alcohol had a way of inducing heavy drowsiness.
She felt unusually sleepy after just a few sips.
Indeed, she was nodding off long before she was drunk.
Yet, it was already well past midnight, with an hour and a half still to go.
After numerous yawns, she glanced at the clock in hesitation.
Finally, she stepped out of the laundry room and into the expansive living room.
The floor-to-ceiling windows in the spacious apartment were breathtakingly beautiful.
Zola walked over, taking in Beliey’s night scenery.
It was a visual treat.
“But never mind, she thought.
There was no use hoping.
She’d see how things developed.
Leaving the window behind, she settled into the massage chair.
She just wanted to sit for a bit.
Eventually, the massage chair felt too comfortable as soon as she lay down.
Rehearsing every day during this time was truly exhausting. Her back ached all day long. She wondered if a massage might feel good.
Before her mind could consent, her body was already pressing the switch.
The massage chair was adjusted to the optimal position.
Zola sank into the massage chair, luxuriating in its comfort,
The message kept going

She then fell asleep..
Leopold couldn’t help but smile as he watched Zola sleep peacefully
In reality, he hadn’t slept at all.
Even though he was still a bit tipsy, the thought of Zola still being there made it hard for him to fall asleep,
He hesitated to come out, afraid that Zola wouldn’t want to see him.
Her visible reluctance towards him just now stung
He heard the faint sound of the massage chair starting up in the hall
Zola using his massage chair on her initiative surprised him. He had thought she would reject everything about him.
Summoning his courage, he wheeled himself out and found Zola asleep on the massage chair.
The massage chair had finished its session, but she showed no signs of waking up.
Leopold reached out to touch her cheek but pulled back at the last moment.
She wouldn’t appreciate it.
He watched her for a long while.
Seeing her shift uncomfortably, even in the comfortable massage chair, he realized it wasn’t conducive to sleep.
While the massage chair enveloped her well, it was still too small for proper sleep.

Leopold wanted to pick her up, but because he was sitting in a wheelchair, he couldn’t muster enough strength, fearing he might accidentally drop her or wake her up.
After some deliberation, he fetched a blanket and set the massage chair to sleep mode, with its heating function activated.
Even after completing everything, Leopold couldn’t bring himself to leave.
After struggling a bit, Leopold, too tired to keep his eyes open, finally returned to bed.
Her heart continued to beat irregularly, racing.
The dawn broke.
Zola stirred. ‘So soft.
Glancing around, it took her a moment to realize she was still at Leopold’s house.
It was already bright outside.
She had spent the night here.
“What time is it now? Zola hurriedly fetched her phone, glancing at the time, realizing it was already past eight in the morning. How had I fallen asleep?”
She quickly got up
As soon as she stood, a familiar voice broke the silence. “Awake?”
Zola jumped at the sound, turning to see Leopold in the open kitchen, apparently preparing breakfast. “Wasn’t he completely drunk last night? Why was he up so early? He has the schedule of an elderly person

Zola quickly grabbed her clothes and headed to the shared bathroom.
Seeing her neatly tolded undergarments, she chose to ignore them.
After changing, Zola was ready to leave
Their group was on a full rest day today.

After the heavy drinking last night, they deserved to catch up on sleep. Plus, a week of intense rehearsals required a day off for recuperation
Zola intended to go back and sleep the day away.

When she opened the bathroom door, Leopold called her
“Anything else?”
“Have breakfast before you go.”
“I’m not hungry”
“It’s ready
“I don’t have an appetite.
“Not eating breakfast isn’t good for your stomach.”
“I’ll eat when I get back.
“You’re already up. Come and eat,” Leopold urged
Zola found herself looking at him.
She had never realized he could be so talkative.
“It wasn’t easy for you last night.”
So was it a thank you for last night? Fine dining table.
It was a simple breakfast.
There was toast, inilk, and eggs

How could she fool Leopold?
She felt his smile was mocking her.
“Not so picky now.”
“Pretty good,” Leopold replied.
The two fell silent.
They enjoyed the food quietly.
The doorbell rang
“It should be the housekeeper,” Leopold said.
et up with his cane.
He was about to get up
I’ll get it,” Zola said, leaving the toast on the table and heading to the door.
Since Leopold said it was the housekeeper, she didn’t bother checking the surveillance and opened the door directly.
Leopold…
Jaelynn’s voice trailed off when she saw Zola.
Zola felt equally awkward.
Most importantly, Joel was standing beside her.
It was an embarrassing moment.
Leopold seemed to notice the tension at the door. He approached and saw Jaelynn and Joel.
He went over to greet them,
What b
brings you guys here?”
Jaelynn came back to her senses.
Joel shifted his gaze slightly.
His emotions lingered in his eyes for a long time, stubbornly refusing to dissipate.
“I’ve been calling you, but your phone’s been off. So we came over. Jaelynn said. “Why was your phone off?”
“I got drunk last night. Lost my phone. Probably left it in the toilet, Leopold explained. Then he asked, “What brings you guys here?”
