Group’s key employees. Perla stood The large conference room was packed with Galaxy at the podium, preparing to deliver her inaugural speech. Just as she opened her mouth, before a word could escape, her eyes caught Kylie at the entrance, freezing her in place.
Cohen sat at the center of the first row. Sensing Perla’s unease, he turned to look. The moment he laid eyes on Kylie, his face turned pitch black. Rising abruptly, he strode toward her, drawing the attention of all Galaxy Group employees.
Approaching Kylie, Cohen’s face displayed disgust and disdain. “What are you doing here?” he demanded.
“It’s my mother’s company. Shouldn’t I be here?” Kylie retorted. She exuded a commanding presence, and Cohen couldn’t suppress her with his demeanor.
“I don’t want to argue with you here. Leave immediately. I don’t have time to waste on you today. Whatever it is, we’ll talk later!” Cohen impatiently declared.
Kylie had no intention of engaging in pointless banter with him. She walked straight into the conference room. Perla, witnessing Kylie’s arrival, revealed a trace of malevolence in her eyes, but in the next moment, she quickly put on an innocent smile and kindly said, “Kylie, what brings you here? Perla stood awkwardly on the stage, still holding her carefully prepared speech. Due to Kylie’s words, countless eyes were now focused on her. It was the first time she felt like such a colossal joke. Kylie had turned her into a massive laughingstock.

Perla’s eyes were red, but she kept up a facade of innocence. She asked cautiously, “Kylie, are you short on cash?”
Kylie glared at her, yet to speak. Perla hurriedly added, “Kylie, don’t get mad. I just don’t get why you’ve been ignoring Galaxy Group all this while and suddenly want to take it over. The other day, I heard Sergio mention you’ve got a thing for a firefighter, so I wondered if you’re facing some trouble?”
Perla’s seemingly innocent words caused a stir among the staff. No one expected Kylic. to act so recklessly, making a scene and asking for money all because of a guy. It was embarrassing, something most folks wouldn’t do.
Cohen’s face turned dark as night. He shouted, “I’ll give you one million dollars. Take it and get out! And don’t you dare show up at Galaxy Group again. This isn’t where you belong!”
Cohen’s words confirmed Kylie’s money trouble. These words made Kylie feel incredibly angry, to the point where she couldn’t help but laugh.
Perla wasn’t pleased at the thought of giving Kylie one million dollars. She felt Kylie didn’t deserve a dime. But if it meant gaining the entire company, she figured it was worth it. So, she said, “Kylie, if you’re short on cash, I can transfer it to you today. But I hope you’ll stop messing around with other guys.”
“Perla, did you forget about hooking up with my fiancé?”
“Kylie, Sergio and I are just friends…” Perla paled at Kylie’s words. Her thing with Sergio couldn’t get out. It would tarnish both the Stafford and Moore family names.
“Enough, Kylie! Stop stirring up trouble here!” Cohen pulled out a check from his pocket and swiftly filled it with a string of digits. “I’ll give you 200 thousand dollars now, and if you sign over the company, you’ll get the remaining 800 thousand dollars!”
With everyone watching, Cohen tossed the check at Kylie’s feet. Kylie stared at the check for a while. Then, with effort, she bent down and picked it up.
Perla sneered nearby. She thought Kylie had a strong sense of dignity, but turns out, she’d compromise for money.
Kylie held the check in her hand, her eyes icy as she looked at Cohen. And in the next moment, right in front of him and everyone else, she tore the check into pieces and threw it back at Cohen.

“Galaxy Group’s annual net income is over several million dollars, and its market value is over tens of millions! Yet you think of giving me only one million dollars? You’re truly shameless!” Kvlies sarcastic words felt like a slap in the face, landing directly on Cohen. It left him publicly embarrassed and awkward.
Perla’s face turned pale, too. She hadn’t expected Kylie to be so well–informed.
“You have a day to wrap up your affairs and pack your things to leave Galaxy Group: Kylie declared bluntly. “Otherwise, you’ll face the consequences!”
The inauguration ceremony turned into a joke, leaving Perla feeling humiliated. She cried incessantly after returning to her office. “Dad, what’s the difference between Katie and a bandit? Only when Perla heard her father speak like this did she swallow her tears, revealing a malicious smile. She wanted to take everything from Kylie: family, reputation, love, and wealth. From childhood to adulthood, Kylie had never been her match
