In the emergency room, the doctor asked, “What happened?”
“Got bitten by a stray cat.”
“Take off your shirt so I can treat the wound properly.”
Eigin did as told, and the young nurse holding the tray blushed at the sight of his upper body.
He, however, didn’t bat an eyelid.
After a quick glance, the doctor began dressing Elgin’s wound, “Whoa there, what kind of stray cat is this? These bite marks are obviously human.”
“You can tell?”
“Neat rows of teeth marks? It’s pretty obvious,” the doctor replied.
Elgin cleared his throat, “Yeah, it was a person.”
“Who’s got such a beef with you to bite that hard?”
“My wife.”
The doctor paused, “Sounds like you’re dealing with a tigress!”
Everyone in the vicinity chuckled, and even Elgin couldn’t help but crack a smile, “A tigress with neat teeth, that is.”
“Treat your wife better, after all, she’s the one you’re walking through life with, the doctor said. “You got a cold? I’ll prescribe some medicine for you.”
“Mhm.”
Back at the Ramirez Group, Elgin headed for the elevator and bumped into Samson and Vidonia.
Vidonia kept mum. Given her position, she should have greeted Elgin, the big boss.
“Gin, what a coincidence, Samson greeted him. “I was just looking for you.”
“Same here
“Talk about being in sync. You go first.”
But Elgin looked at Vidonia, “Letitia’s alone at the hospital, you should head over…”
Before he could finish, Vidonia went ballistic, “What? Hospital?! She’s been gone from the office for half a day and now she’s at the hospital? Elgin, what did you do to her!”
“Are you going or not?”
“Of course, I’m going! With a huff, Vidonia stormed off.
“What’s the deal? Letitia’s in the hospital and you look like you’ve been through the wringer, Samson questioned. “You two argue as frequently as clockwork.
Elgin replied, “Women are like that.”
“If you tell me that someone married Vidonia and they have daily disputes, I’d totally buy it. But Letitia’s temperament… she’s not the arguing type.”

Letitia doesn’t argue? Her tongue is sharper than anyone’s!

Elgin’s face tumed stone cold. He always felt that everyone around was siding with Letitia, whether it was the butler or Samson.
What kind of charm did Letitia have to make them all want to back her up?

Samson’s jaw nearly hit the floor, “What?! Now?

Vidonia left the company and drove straight to the hospital.
In the hospital room, Letitia sat alone, lost in thought
She stayed like this until a servant from Ivory Towers came with food, “My lady, this is a special prepared nutritional meal for you.”
It was lavish, nearly too much for the table. Letitia glanced at it with zero appetite.
She used to eat heartily for the sake of the baby inside her.
And now, it seemed pointless.
“Just leave it there,” she said, listlessly.
“How can you not eat, my lady?” the servant said. “The butler even asked me to bring extra, worried you wouldn’t have enough.”
“Thank the butler for me, but right now… I don’t need it.”
After the blood draw, she hadn’t had moming sickness and had eaten voraciously, gaining three to four pounds.
At the time, Letitia thought the baby was absorbing nutrients as eagerly as she was.
The servant was puzzled, “Why don’t you need it? As you progress in your pregnancy, you need more nutrients.”
“The child is gone.”
“How could that be, my lady? Of course, you are still carrying the baby, the servant replied. “If something was wrong, the old master at the estate would have a fit.”
Letitia was taken aback.
“Plus, I just heard the nurse saying they’re going to prescribe you some medication to stabilize the pregnancy.”
Hope reignited in her eyes, no longer dim.
She couldn’t have heard wrong, could she? It wasn’t a hallucination, not a dream? The baby was still there?!
Leutia felt a surge of strength coursing through her, “Where’s the doctor? I need to see the doctor!”
She had to hear the good news directly from the doctor’s mouth!
The servant quickly agreed, “Yes, yes, I’ll go get the doctor right away.”
Rapid footsteps echoed, and Vidonia rushed in, nearly colliding with the servant.
“What’s going on, Letitia? Are you okay?” she asked.
Vidonia, you’re here”
Letitia was gripping her hand tight, finally feeling a trickle of reassurance seeping in
“Yeah, Elgin said you were alone at the hospital, so I hightailed it over here,” Vidonia asked, “What happened?”
Leté opened her mouth but didn’t have a clue where to start. She didn’t want to freak Vidonia out either so she just sighed and played it down, it’s nothing”
the doctor came busting in, thinking Letitia was in hot water.
Tums out Letitia asked, “Am I still carrying the baby?”
“Yep,” the doctor nodded, “When your husband rushed you in for the save last night, he told us to make sure both you and the baby were
