“Are you happy, mom? He has returned. Jackson said he would come and pick me up at 7 for the graduation party,” Anastasia couldn’t be more. happy.
Jackson Grave. The heartthrob and the coolest person she laid her eyes. on was her mate. But he wasn’t only that. He was also her friend of twelve years.
It has been exactly six months since she found that the alpha of her pack. was her mate. It was still like a dream to her.
Jackson left the pack to train right after she found out he was her mate. because of the alpha duties, and it wasn’t until a couple of days ago that he returned.
They were yet to talk to each other after his return. Anastasia was planning to find him at the party, but she received his message this morning saying he would pick her up.
Anastasia’s mother looked at her daughter and didn’t know how to answer her question.
Was she happy for her daughter? Any parent would be happy to see their child so happy.
And just like every other parent, she wanted to be happy for Anastasia too. She wanted to smile and congratulate her daughter, but for some reason, it didn’t sit right with her.
Georgia didn’t know what it was. She didn’t know if it was a mother’s instinct or intuition, but something didn’t feel right.
She wanted to tell her daughter the same thing, but seeing her almost dancing in her steps, Georgia couldn’t bring herself to kill her daughter’s. happy vibes.
It’s not every day she sees such a big smile on her daughter’s face.

After Anastasia’s father died seven years ago, things changed for them drastically. Happiness became a luxury for her and her daughter.
Anastasia started working in the small shops and as help in the pack house to earn some money for the household and her school, and Georgia started working in the departmental store.
Things weren’t easy, but they tried to find solace in each other. However, life threw them into a ditch once again when Anastasia couldn’t call out her wolf on her fourteenth birthday.
Her daughter, who was so happy and excited to meet her wolf and waited for her other part of the soul, was left devastated that day.
They were originally the Gama’s of the pack, but as soon as people heard Anastasia didn’t turn into her wolf, the pack members were quick to throw them even below omegas.
If that wasn’t enough to add to her daughter’s plate, Georgia was diagnosed with stage 3 Brain Cancer.
The treatment of the brain cancer wasn’t cheap, and since they were now the omegas of the pack, no one in the pack cared to help them.
‘Her mother already spoiled her childhood. I just hope she can have a good future, Georgia thought.
“If you are happy, I am happy, Sia. You always wanted someone who would love you with all he has. Now that your friend has turned your mate, I am relieved. You are in good hands,” Georgia forced a smile on her face.
Anastasia beamed at her mother through the reflection as she did her hair and got ready for the party.
“I have talked to Jackson about your treatment too, Mom. You will be treated in the best hospital in the Province. Your illness is not incurable,” Anastasia turned to her mom, whose expression immediately turned
grave.
“I don’t want you to keep thinking about me, Sia. There’s a whole life ahead for you. You should just let me be. I am growing old. You don’t need to spend so much on me. I am already a burden on you and
“Stop right there,” Anastasia’s eyes brimmed with tears when she heard the same things, the same thing that her mom has been saying from the moment they found out her mom had staged three cancer. She blinked back the tears furiously before taking a deep breath.

“I don’t want to have the same discussion again, Mom. You care about the money, but I care about you. I already lost Dad. You are all I have now. I can’t bear to lose you,” she looked at her mom, who had a distant smile. “When are you leaving? It’s almost 7,” Georgia changed the topic, and Anastasia sighed.
‘He must be here in some time, She smiled before taking a deep breath to calm her excitement.
He didn’t come.
Anastasia’s gaze kept flickering between her wall clock and the door.
Georgia looked at her daughter whose smile was dimming with each passing minute and felt her heart aching.
An hour passed, and there was still no sign of it.
She was afraid that the alpha’s son had fooled her daughter. Though her daughter never shared it with her, Georgia always knew that her daughter gets bullied from time to time because she is poor.
She didn’t want her daughter to be sad on the day of her graduation.
“Anastasia, Jackson is the alpha now. Maybe he got held up with some work? How about I drop you at the venue? You can drop a message to him. It will save him some time too,” Her mother suggested, hoping that her daughter would feel much better at a party than waiting for her mate here, who doesn’t seem like appearing anytime soon.
“That’s a good idea, mom. Why didn’t I think of it? Haha, unlike myself, he is an alpha for crying out loud. Besides, he has recently returned, so he must have a lot of things to do,” Anastasia smiled.
After a ride of fifteen minutes, Anastasia’s mom dropped Anastasia at the school venue where the party was held.
“Are you sure you’ll be fine? Should I stay at some nearby place to pick you up once you are done?” Georgia asked Anastasia, and the latter shook her head.
“I’ll be fine, Mom. You can leave,” Anastasia smiled and turned around.
Anastasia was planning to consummate her mating bond with Jackson today. They never got the chance to hug each other, as he left the pack on the same night, let alone kiss and seal the bond.
Having her mom wait on her was the last thing she wanted.
Anastasia sighed and looked at the large school gates.

The only person who knew about her wolf was her other friend, Kristina. She had seen her wolf.
Her wolf was pure silver. Though it was small in comparison to other wolves her age, she was there, and Anastasia was happy about it. Kristina told her that she shouldn’t tell anyone she got the wolf. This wasn’t normal. A wolf shouldn’t appear like this at will, not to mention it was pure silver, which was a rare sight. Her wolf was special. Anastasia knew Kristina was speaking in her favour and wanted to protect. her from bullying because of her small wolf and rare colour, and that’s why she never bothered to tell anyone she had a wolf.
It’s not like her wolf would come out as proof to support her words. Her life had been anything but miserable since her father died, but today. she was going to ensure the beginning of her new happy life.
