Chapter 20
The next day–
“Schedule my meeting with the alpha of the Moon pack right after lunch. You know how to make minutes, right? I would need you to make them today,” Kaiden ordered Anastasia, and she wrote what he said in her notebook.
“Also, cancel the meeting I had with the manager of the Paradise Hotel at 3 pm. Shift that meeting to next Tuesday. Tell me the exact time when you have talked it through.
Reschedule that time and arrange the meeting for ” Kaiden suddenly stopped when he saw her struggling through her notebook, and he quirked his brows, leaning back in his seat as he waited for her to stop writing and look up at him.
“Seriously? Don’t tell me you are thinking of keeping track of all the things by writing it in your notebook this way. Don’t you know how to schedule events on the calendar for the meetings and everything?” He asked, a bit confused.
It was a basic –
Right. She indeed told him she didn’t know anything about these things. Alpha Kaiden looked at her before sighing.
“Come here. Let me show you,” Kaiden walked to the secretary’s table that he had asked his men to place in his large office space until she learned everything.
He opened the calendar on her computer.
“Sit down and do as I am telling you,” Kaiden said as he stood right behind her, placing his hand on hers on the mouse, making her heart skip a beat before it started beating like a bullet train, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
Anastasia wasn’t prepared for this kind of attack early in the morning. As if his black shirt with the upper two buttons undone, rolled sleeves till the elbow, styled hair, and deep voice weren’t enough, he had to add more to the army of things she likes in a man.
Her breath hitched when he neared her even more and his chest touched the back of her head. Her heart skipped a beat as soon as his hot
intoxicating scent wafted through her nostrils, and she bit her
пр
She looked up to see if he realised what he was doing, but when she didn’t get a reaction, Anastasia realised that this was probably one of his habits that he subconsciously does.
What she didn’t know was that Kaiden was doing all this deliberately. He liked teasing her. That was probably one of the reasons for keeping her
alive.
“Here, click here,” he bent so that his face was almost in the crook of her neck as he inhaled her body wash, or should he say, his body wash, on her body.
Kaiden took a deep whiff, and Anastasia who was utterly oblivious of the naughty and lecherous thoughts this monster was having behind her, turned to face him.
“Like this?” She asked, but her body froze when she noticed how close their faces were.
She gulped, her gaze flickering to his lips, his soft and thin lips, she had kissed three days ago to save herself.
“Yes, like this,” Kaiden didn’t break eye contact with her as he guided her hand and cursor to the first day of the month.
She didn’t move even after a few seconds, and he smirked.
“You see, Sia if you don’t turn around and concentrate on that fucking computer, I might do something that I am sure you wouldn’t like right
now.
Something along the lines of throwing this computer on the ground, flattening you on top of it, grabbing your ass, spreading your legs, and entering deep inside you from behind, tearing all the walls that you have created around yourself,” Alpha Kaiden said, his eyes dangerously dark as he bent closer to her, his lips almost touching hers.
He had thought that she would turn around or remark snarkily, but when he noticed that she forgot to breathe in her shock, he sighed and placed his hand on the back of the seat, pulling her even closer.
Just how innocent a person really can be.
“Breath, Sia. As much as I hate rogues, I am in no mood to drag a dead body so early in the morning,” He said, and Anastasia took a deep shaky breath with her eyes still wide even when he stood straight.
Heat crept up all the way to her neck, and she clenched her hand on her
thighs to keep her heartbeat in control, which was indeed embarrassing her. She knew an alpha as strong as him could hear her fast–beating heart pretty well, and the thought alone made her anxious.
“Is there anything else, alpha Kaiden?” She asked, and he shook his head, making her nod and leave.
Kaiden followed her moving left and right until she disappeared and sighed.
This girl. Why was he acting like that with her? The kind of words he used today were shocking even to him.
Kaiden picked up his phone and dialled the number as soon as she left, waiting for the person to pick up the call.
“Hello?” Kaiden spoke, his voice neutral and cold.
“Alpha Kaiden, what a pleasant surprise,” the man on the other end said, and Kaiden hummed in acknowledgement.
“My beta sent you a fax yesterday. I am sure you have read it and found what I am looking for,” Kaiden said, and the man chuckled.
“Of course, Alpha Kaiden. We looked into the information you asked us for. However, we didn’t find any omega who has rejected an alpha and turned into a rogue,” the council head, Timothy, said, and Kaiden, who was already expecting this kind of answer, smirked.
“Well, I didn’t know the job would be so tough for you, council head. It’s okay. Let me help you a bit. The girl’s name is Anastasia,” Kaiden said, and the distinct sound of something falling came from the other end, making Kaiden smile coldly.
Wasn’t this reaction a bit too loud for someone who just said they have. no idea about someone like that?
“Alpha Kaiden, please tell me that the girl you just took the name of isn’t in your pack,” The council head said, and Kaiden quirked his brows.
“What would you do if I said that’s the truth?”
“I won’t do anything, Alpha. It’s just, that girl means nothing but trouble. The only reason I said I don’t know any such type of girl is because I didn’t want to uselessly add more to your plate. Honestly, if that girl is there, ask her to get out of the pack as soon as possible,” the council head said, and for some reason, Kaiden didn’t like how the old man was talking about that rogue girl.
“And can I know why is that?” Kaiden asked after a pause, hoping to hear
some solid reason, something along the lines of how she deals with the black market or stuff like that.
“That’s because she is nothing more than a trouble magnet. She killed her twin sister when she was born, her father died because of the rogue attack meant for her, her mother died to save her dignity, and recently, every pack this girl has visited and the alpha has shown any kind of interest in her, she has only brought problems there.
We were considering locking her in the dungeons, but she ran away,” the council head said.
Kaiden remembered the scared look in the girl’s eyes when he had
mentioned the council’s name and sighed.
So that’s the reason she is so afraid of the name council and got ready to stay here? They threatened her.
