“Well, this is the evil bitch’s boyfriend talking. Who is this person she keeps on talking to?” Kaiden asked cunningly, a lazy smirk playing on his lips, making him even more handsome, and Anastasia gritted her teeth. How could she find him handsome in this situation when she should be thinking about how to get out of this situation?
Anastasia looked at him, unsure of what to be angry at. The fact that he tricked her, snatched her phone and was calling himself her boyfriend, or the fact that she was letting all of this happen and even finding him hot? “First, only I call her that. Second, I know no man in this world can handle her, so you are definitely not her boyfriend. Tell me who you are and why you have her phone?” Draco said, his voice turning dangerously low when he heard some man talking from the other side.
“I am Alpha Kaiden, and why the hell do I have her phone- let’s just say your words are very challenging. No man can handle her?” Kaiden raised his brows before he snuck his hand around Anastasia’s waist, pulling her so close that he could feel her heart beating against his chest.
Anastasia gassed loudly, looking at him in shock with wide eyes as Kaiden smirked and talked to the person on the phone.
“The fuck! Alpha Kaiden, Anastasia, how the hell is she with –” The phone call ended, and Kaiden looked at the phone’s screen before looking into the girl’s eyes.
“The more I try to figure you out, the more complicated you become. The kind of dominance this man was oozing, there was no way he was some random rogue, not to mention how familiar his voice was. I know. you won’t answer me, so I am not going to force you. However, I hope you aren’t lying to me about your circumstances. Because that, sweetheart, will have you pay heftily,” he left her waist, making her breathe a sigh of relief as she took her coffee and sat on the empty seat. She didn’t need the genius to tell her that everyone in the cafeteria was staring at her, and not only staring but glaring and probably
bad–mouthing her through their mind link. But it wasn’t like there was anything she could do about it.
Thus, she could only sigh and think about what to do next now that Alpha Kaiden had found out about Carl. But first, she should just focus
on enjoying her coffee in peace. Anastasia thought.
However, her momentary peace was cut short when Alpha Kaiden came and sat right beside her.
“Alpha –” Anastasia started to complain about all the attention he was bringing her way but paused when Kaiden began speaking.
“Finish your coffee quickly. We will leave for the meeting in fifteen minutes. Double–check everything before we leave. I don’t want to hear any excuses later,” Kaiden said.
“Okay, sir,” Anastasia said when she realised he wasn’t teasing her anymore and wanted to tell her about the meeting.
She internally shook her head at her own suspicious thinking.
“I like it,” Kaiden said out of the blue, and Anastasia’s gaze flickered to
him.
“Pardon?” She looked at him, confused.
“I like it when you say ‘sir‘. Though I prefer alpha most of the time, it sounds good when you call me sir. I wonder if it would sound equally good in bed, too,” Kaiden said, and Anastasia, who had taken a sip of her coffee, spat the liquid in front of her in shock.
What the hell he said? She looked at him in disbelief.
“What a mess,” Kaiden pulled out his handkerchief from his pocket and grabbed her jaws, forcing her to look at him as he wiped her lips softly. “We don’t want my secretary to look messy in her first client meeting with the boss, right?” Kaiden smiled, his hands travelling to the side of her neck sensually before giving her one last heated look as he stood up from the chair after finishing his juice and left, making her sigh loudly. She took calming breaths to control her raging heart.
So much for a peaceful coffee. She scoffed inwardly.
“You must be very happy, right?” Anastasia gazed up to look at Tiffany, who was glaring at her.
“Happy about what? Did I earn some kind of promotion?” Anastasia asked, even when she knew what exactly the girl was talking about. “Don’t try to act smart with me, rogue. I am talking about your proximity to our alpha. Do you think just because our alpha is showing some interest in you, you can gloat? Do you think we don’t have eyes? Can’t we see what you are trying to do? How dare you try to lure him? hmm?”
Tiffany placed her hand on the table to execute her dominance.
“This girl! How dare she talk to us like that?‘ Dione immediately stood from her place, and Anastasia rolled her eyes at her wolf.
‘Aren’t you becoming too angry these days? Just calm down. I’ll handle it,” Anastasia said to her wolf before smiling.
“How dare you smile and show me your ugly teeth. Do you seriously think you are something just because our alpha brought you to the company and pack house? Ha! You are just like that stray rogue dog that someone feeds from humanity. I am sure you have something he can use
or –”
Anastasia had it enough. She smiled at the girl again before stepping closer to her.
“Do you really think I am interested in your alpha? That monster who shed blood like he is drinking water? Give me a break, will you? He is the alpha of the pack and my boss here. I can’t do anything about it, but I would surely not want to catch the germs he probably got from sleeping with all the hoes around and the girls who want to sleep with him. I have heard stories,” Anastasia said.
“What did you say? Whore?” Tiffany’s voice almost came out like a shriek. “Why are you getting offended? Are you one of those?” Anastasia
smirked.
“You! How dare you –” Tiffany raised her hand, but before it could touch Anastaisa’a’s cheeks, someone held her hand, making Anastasia raise her brows at the man.
“I am sure you wouldn’t want to slap the girl the alpha brought himself, right Tiffany?” Logan asked, and Tiffany huffed before leaving, her eyes. promising nothing good.
“Seriously, germs? Hoes? Are you trying to create enemies here?” Logan asked, and Anastasia rolled her eyes as she grabbed her phone.
“It’s not like I am wrong. We all know that your alpha has a reputation and –”
“A fake reputation. Don’t you know that the alpha is cursed to have no mate? It means he can’t have a mate, irrespective of fated one or chosen one. That’s the reason he can’t touch any woman intimately without his wolf losing his mind after that. So stop calling him a rapist, manwhore, or whatever you have in mind. It affects him too,” Logan said massaging
his forehead, making Anastasia freeze in her steps.
“What did you say? He can’t touch any woman intimately?” Anastasia. thought, remembering the kiss she forced on him.
Was that the reason why he was so peachy with her? It looks like she will have to apologise to him for that.
