“Who was it?” Kaiden asked, his voice dangerously low, and Anastasia looked away before sitting straight, hiding her body inside the duvet. “I don’t know what you are talking about. If you have nothing to say, I would like to continue my sleep. It’s ” Anastasia looked at the clock that was striking four and rubbed her face with her hands, pressing her eyes softly.
“It’s only four in the morning. And before you say that I should be getting up from bed at this time, I am not obliged to train with the rest of the pack,” Anastasia murmured, looking towards the window.
That’s not the answer to my question, Sia. I want a name and his designation and pack. Who was it that you were dreaming about?” Kaiden asked, feeling possessive for some reason.
“And who are you to ask me that? Even an Alpha isn’t supposed to ask that of his people. So, who gave you the right to ask me such questions?” Anastasia took a deep breath before sitting Indian style, quickly grabbing the duvet that fell from her hands, giving Kaiden a brief view of what she was hiding, and his gaze darkened even more when he noticed her erect nipples poking on the top.
He dejectedly averted his gaze from her chest to her face again, his gaze settling on her cherry–full lips that she quickly released from between her teeth.
“Look, Alpha Kaiden, I know we kissed. And for some sick reason, I am the only female in this area who you can kiss or touch, but that doesn’t mean I belong to you. I have a goal, and I am devoted to it,” Anastasia said.

“Yes?” She raised her brows.
“The last time we talked, I told you pretty clearly that I don’t give two damn about ” Kaiden couldn’t complete his sentence as his phone rang with an incoming call, and he looked at the number before standing from his place.
The rogue head’s team has entered which part of the state? You can’t expect me to stay at home all the time,” Anastasia asked, completely forgetting that she had imagined this conversation in her dreams.
Kaiden, who picked up his call and placed the device near his ears, quirked his brows when his man said the same thing.
“The rogue head’s team has entered the state, sir. One of the men was seen in the city. It won’t be long before the entire team comes here to investigate Carl’s death,” The man said, and Kaiden looked at the girl before humming.
“How did you know that the team has entered the regions? You were sleeping, weren’t you? And they entered one hour ago. Your phone is still in the living room, so how did you know? Did you know that he was coming today?” Kaiden asked.
When he saw Anastasia wasn’t going to answer anytime soon, he ruffled his hair in anger before walking out of the room and slamming the door behind him.
He wanted to talk to this girl and get the answers to all the questions, but giving his team orders and how to handle this issue was even more important.
Though Anastasia made a mistake by killing Carl out of the blue and calling this problem here, it was going to work in his favor. He has been trying to find and capture this rogue head for so long. There was no way he was going to let go of this opportunity.
Anastasia, on the other hand, washed her face and walked to the living room once she ensured the alpha had left the house.
She picked up her phone and sighed in relief when she noticed no one called her.
She dialed the number and waited for them to pick up.
“Where are you guys?” She asked without delay.
“You asked us to get out of here as soon as possible, didn’t you? We left the area at the same moment after discarding the body. We are sorry, Ana. The body got discovered, and you got into trouble,” the man said, and Anaesthesia sighed.
“It’s okay, K. It’s my fault in the first place. If I hadn’t killed him in a fit of anger, nothing like this would’ve happened,” Anastasia sighed.
“Stay hidden until I tell you everything is alright here,” she said before ending the call and sighing in relief.
She slumped on the couch and looked at the ceiling, trying to form a plan that would work out for her.
Anastasia knew that Alpha Kaiden would be trying his best to get that rogue head and get his revenge done, but this was literally the only chance she would be getting to come in the rogue head’s good books too. If she saved the rogue head before Alpha Kaiden could grab him, she would be able to get the rogue head’s favor, and she might be able to gain his trust. She needs his help to take down Jackson and the entire pack who once laughed at her.
Not a single person on that cursed land was innocent, and she will ensure that they meet their cursed fate at her hands. She will slice Jackson’s neck with her bare hands. Anastasia thought, smiling when the scenario appeared in her head.
All she needs to do is get out of here without getting noticed, locate the rogue head and probably get to him before Alpha Kaiden would.
The only problem is that only his team has arrived at the scene, and she can’t risk meeting them and asking where the rogue head is, or they will suspect that she is the culprit who killed Carl to get the information about the rogue head.
‘I think you are thinking too hard, Sia, Dione said, and Anastasia raised her brows.
“Yeah? How about you come out to make me think less?” Anastasia. challenged her wolf. However, what she hadn’t expected was for Dione to do exactly that, and Anastasia, who was pushed back into her headspace, widened her eyes in shock.
“Yo, what the hell, Dione! Come back,” Anastasia shouted, her eyes widening even more when Dione looked at her wings and flapped them, making them rise from the ground.
What the actual fuck! She wasn’t thinking of flying, right?
“Dione! Come back right now! What the fuck are you doing?” Anastasia was scared of her wits. She didn’t want anyone to catch up on her powers. “Why? Didn’t you just say I should come out if I want you to think less? Now that I am doing exactly that, you have a problem with that too? Tell me you are going to stop thinking about it,” Dione said.
“Dione, you know I am living for this revenue. How can I -”

Alpha Kaiden ran as fast as he could, his brows squinting when he noticed his wolf was taking him to the other side of the border.
But why would he take him there? Could it be that the wolf was on the other side of the border and was trying to keep a look at his pack? Kaiden thought, thinking about all the things that were on that side of the pack. All the things- His second house where he was living these days with Anastasia was on that side. He thought before running even faster than before when he suddenly stopped in shock. The energy he was feeling suddenly disappeared.
It was as if the energy never existed.
What the hell was going on there? He looked in front of him. The house was only a hundred metres away. Should he go and check up on that rogue girl if she is safe? What if someone is behind her?
Didn’t she say she has been running from her demons since she left the pack? Could it be that the demons she is talking about also have a relationship with this energy?
He had given the orders to his pack members already and they would leave after some time to secure the entire city.
Alpha Kaiden walked to the house in long strides, opening the door with a bang and looked at the girl, who was sitting on the couch, eating an apple.
“Oh, I…uh… I was feeling hungry. Sorry for this,” Anastasia said
awkwardly while Dione stood in her headspace with a wolfy scowl on her face.
This was the first time her wolf had been so wishful, and she had never thought that dealing with a wolf could be so hard sometimes.
She was thinking not getting her wolf to turn and the transition was a problem, but now that her wolf had changed twice so quickly, she realised that her wolf’s changing was even a bigger problem.
Only she knows how hard it was for her to get her wolf to give control back to her because her wolf wanted to fly.
Yes. Her wolf wants to FLY now. She wants to use her wings which have grown even more from the last time.
“Do you really think I am so petty that I will get angry because you ate an apple without permission?” Alpha Kaiden asked.
Anastasia looked into his eyes and noticed he was concerned over
something. He had the same expression when he found her near the suburbs.
“You don’t seem fine,” She commented, and Kaiden looked at the way she was lying on the couch, so disrespectfully.
He walked to her and sat beside her, his gaze travelling to her exposed legs. She was wearing a pair of thigh–length shorts over a loose t–shirt.
“You still haven’t answered the question I asked you in the morning. Who were you having a wet dream about?” Kaiden asked, sitting on the same couch as her before he held her foot and pulled her towards him in a way that her waist was on his lap now.
“Woah, what the hell do you think you are doing?” Anastasia tried to sit straight, but Kaiden’s hand kept her there before he turned her around, making her butt face him.
“Hey! Have you lost it?!” Anastasia growled at him, flailing her legs, but no matter how much she tried, his steel–like grip kept her in place.
‘Dione, help!‘ Anastasia shouted, her eyes rising when rather than becoming angry, Dione was sitting in the corner, acting coy and shy? What the hell? Anastasia tried to twist her body, but Alpha Kaiden bent even further keeping her in place.
“Now you better answer my question, or I am going to spank you until you answer me,” Alpha Kaiden warned her.
“Who was the guy you were having a wet dream about? Which pack is he from?” Kaiden asked
Anastasia didn’t answer. She kept her mouth shut, still struggling, and Kaiden smirked.

He immediately ran behind her and grabbed her hand before pinning her to the wall, looking at her with big wide eyes as she hid her face.

“Does it matter? It’s not like I am ever going to be with you,” Anastasia
said.

“You wanted to investigate me, you have done enough. If you want to go to the council to find out more about me, be my guest. But if you think just because you say a few sweet words, I am going to fall for the same trap again, I am sorry. I have learnt my lesson once. My ex–mate was the sweetest too until he showed his true colours,” Anastasia bowed at him before entering her room and closing the door.
This time Kaiden didn’t stop her. Her words were like a tight reality slap on his face because, among all the hurtful words she said, they were nothing less than facts. He gulped and leaned on the wall.
