Chapter 40
“You are coming with me,” Kaiden mumbled while moving his lips softly on hers, and she looked into his eyes.
She furrowed her brows and gulped, closing her eyes for a second to control her thoughts and focus on the important thing.
This was an opportunity given to her by the moon goddess that she could use to get away from this alpha and get along with her plans of finding the rogue head to continue her plans.
“I am sorry, I have to go,” Anastasia pushed him away from herself, looking at him sternly.
They were standing at the borders of the pack, and all the living members that were sho
were sent to the hospital after Anastasia said it was a pity that they would’ve bled to death.
Everyone was still in shock about what had happened, but on a side note, everything made sense to them at the same time.
It wasn’t a hidden fact to them how cold their alpha was. So, even after knowing about him so well, how dare they make a move on his woman when he declared that he was pursuing her by kissing her cheeks in front of everyone?
Though they were angry that their alpha actually hurt them all because of a rogue, it wasn’t like they could do anything in the matter.
If they said anything, it would be seen as a hatred towards Alpha’s happiness, and no one dared to do that.
Logan looked at the stern girl and kind of understood where she was coming from. Earlier, he was against her, but now he understood her all.
How could she stay at a place that has such bad memories, and though their alpha was trying to make up for it, wasn’t he using the worst methods for that?
He was practically forcing his emotions on her when he clearly knew she had been living with only one motive in mind, and that was revenge.
Logan didn’t know everything, but from what he knew, the more he saw her, the more he praised her in his mind.
If he had a sister, he would have wished she was as strong as Anastasia. Unfortunately, that rogue attack took his sister away from him and he was left alone with only Alpha Kaiden by his side.
“Please don’t go,” Kaiden placed his forehead on hers, taking a deep breath as he pulled her close, and Anastasia closed her eyes.
She didn’t know if it was possible to like someone at first sight or if this amount of time was enough to judge a person, but she knew she was falling for this man, and the realization alone was toxic for her.
“I am sorry. I can’t,” Anastasia turned, pushed him away, and started running in the direction of the forest.
Kaiden looked at the running girl before clenching his fists, missing her already. “Alpha, what are we going to do?” Logan asked.
“We follow her,” Kaiden said before he started running in the same direction as
her.
“Stop following me, Alpha Kaiden,” Anastasia shouted as she increased her speed, and Kaiden roared.
“No! Mine!” Kaiden shouted. It was clear it was his wolf taking over, and Anastasia gulped. She wasn’t a fool to not know Alpha Kaiden wasn’t even using half of his strength and speed.
“I am not coming back,” She shouted, panting heavily already.
“You will have to come back. There’s no other way for you. I said I am pursuing you. Anastasia, I know things turned bad, and none of us expected this, but I seriously want to make this work,” Kaiden said before he took deep breaths when Anastasia increased her speed.
It amazed Kaiden how fast she was going.
For a she–wolf of omega or even a game rank, she was quite the fastest he had
met.
“There is no use running away from me, Sia. You can’t run away forever and – Watch out!” Kaiden growled in horror when he saw something appear behind her out of the blue.
Before Anastasia could turn around and see what it was, she stumbled on the rock and was about to fall when someone held her.
More like her body hung in the air.
Anastasia looked around in horror, unsure of what was happening, and Kaiden’s expression immediately turned dark.
It was obvious. There was a witch nearby.
Kaiden looked around and finally saw her standing near the lake, with her back to them.
“Well, isn’t this place so beautiful?” The lady said, not turning to them, and Anastasia, who finally landed on the ground, turned to look at the last with narrowed brows.
This voice. Why does it sound so familiar to her? Where has she heard this person? She thought.
“Who are you?” Anastasia was about to walk to the lady when Kaiden immediately rushed to her, but before he could grab her hand, the witch beat him to it and grabbed it.
“What the hell are you doing?” Kaiden roared at the witch, hatred running
through his veins, and the witch tilted her head, looking at him.
“What do you think I am doing, Alpha Kaiden?” She asked instead. Her face was hidden because of the large hoodie with her cloak, and Anastasia looked at her hand that was holding onto her wrist and couldn’t help but feel a weird energy coursing through her veins.
“Are you sure you want to offend the strongest Alpha right now?” Kaiden asked, not liking how their time was interrupted by this witch and the witch only smiled. “Aren’t you a bit too self–obsessed, Alpha Kaiden? Who said I am here for you? Today, I am here for this girl. We have a lot to catch up on. Honestly, I have been trying to talk to her for some time, but she doesn’t listen to me, so I am left with no other choice but to resort to this,” The witch said, and Anastasia raised her brows.
“Hey, what do you mean you are here to Kidnap me –” Anastasia couldn’t complete her sentence because the next thing they knew, the witch held Anastasia’s hand and disappeared in thin air.
Kaiden looked at the place where Anastasia had a few seconds ago, narrowing his
eyes.
What was going on here? He was sure the witch wouldn’t try to hurt the girl since he had seen her face, and they knew he would come for their clan again if something happened to the girl, they became the reason behind his pain once again, so why did she take her away anyway? A nerve on his forehead ticked at the thought of them ruining the relationship that hadn’t even formed properly.
Kaiden walked to the lake, wanting to wait for the girl to return.
