“So? What did Jackson want from you?” Derek asked her as soon as the alpha he was talking to left.
She shrugged. What is she supposed to tell him? She herself doesn’t know what he wanted from her and why exactly he was there in the first place. Was he there to humiliate her, show her he has been winning, or did he want her to respect him? None of them made any sense to her.
But one thing was for clear.
It looked like he was still hung up on her, and Kritisna was still afraid that Anastasia might come and take everything that she had. It was a clear indication that the news she had heard about Jackson still not finalising the luna of his pack was actually right, no matter if she believed it or not.
“Nothing. He was just being himself. A jerk and a self–centred egoistic bastard,” Anastasia commented, and Derek looked at her for a few seconds before humming.
He was about to ask her if she was hungry and wanted something to eat when Alpha Trent walked to them, and Anastasia looked at him coldly.
“Oh, look who’s here. Isn’t this the infamous rogue bitch? Didn’t expect you to be here. I wonder for whom you opened your legs for this time to be able to be invited to a place like this. Don’t take me wrong. It takes a lot of skill. I am surprised that none of the alphas have killed you so far, Alpha Trent said, and Anastasia smiled at him.
“Well, what can I say? The world is full of surprises. Even I am surprised that none of the alphas has ended up killing this old hag’s pack. But do you know what surprises me the most–7” Anastasia started, and Derek pulled her close so she didn’t end up neck–to–neck with him.

“I am walking. Stop acting like I am a spoiled brat who you are taking away from some kind of candy store,” Anastasia scowled.
“Not from a candy story, but I am definitely pulling you from a fight. So you are indeed a brat, Derek commented, not leaving her hand until they were all the way to the stage. He helped her with the dress, making her sigh at his gentlemanly behaviour.

She ascended the fire steps, smiling sheepishly at Timothy, who was watching everything and then at Draco, who had an amused smile.
She walked to the chairs, knowing all too well that the cold shivers she was feeling were because of none other than Alpha Kaiden, who was probably glaring at her right now.
“I bet you are having fun today” Kaiden commented, but Anastasia didn’t say anything, and he clenched his hands under the table.

Draco and Derek felt her uneasiness and immediately stepped ahead.
