Chapter 7
“Why are you doing this to me? Please let me out!” Anastasia shouted, struggling under the chains she was tied to.
“Shut up, b*tch. We are not obliged to handle your tantrums here. One more word from you, and I’ll pull that tongue out of your mouth and wrap it around your neck to strangle you,” The guy named Logan said. Anastasia looked at him with anger–filled eyes, her eyes brimming with tears of helplessness. She hated every second of it.
“You have no right to hold me like this. I wasn’t trespassing on your territories. I didn’t do anything wrong. Heck, I even saved those humans who could’ve died at your pack’s borders and tainted your reputation,” Anastasia tried again, the marks of metal chains around her wrists burning with pain.
Logan smiled, sitting on his ankles as he looked at her.
“Delusional much, are we? Do you think our pack needs that kind of favour from some random she–wolf who doesn’t even know what she is doing in life? Are you even worthy of saving our reputation? Don’t you know this is the pack of the devil? Or will you only believe it after meeting him? And let’s not forget how you kicked away our Gama,” Logan clenched his jaws.
“I don’t want to meet your devil or whoever it is. Open my hands, and I’ll show you what I am worthy of. You can watch me rip that snarky mouth. of yours and break a few bones. Besides, I hope this pack of the devil knows that I kicked that Gama in self–defense. I am a rogue for god’s sake! You can’t expect me to just stand there when someone is sneaking on me,” Anastasia snarled in anger this time, angry at the words he used for her, but Logan only chuckled at her before standing and shaking his head.
“You think you are smart, don’t you? That you will provoke us like this, and we will give in to the temptations and uncuff your hands so that you can make a useless attempt to run away?” Logan asked before he tilted his head and smiled.
“Well, you can try,” Logan said, and Anastasia’s eyes filled with hope.
It shouldn’t be too hard. She has snuck in and out of the packs and dungeons quite a few times to gather information on the person she was looking for. So it shouldn’t be too hard for her.

Anastasia watched Logan uncuffing her hands.
Thud.
The sound of the chains falling on the ground echoed in the cell, and Anastasia looked at Logan.
“Go ahead, I am not stopping you,” Logan smiled.
Though Anastasia knew she might not be able to outrun these powerful wolves, she wanted to give it a try for her freedom. It was her last hope to prevent herself from facing Alpha Kaiden who would probably skin her alive.
“Go,” Logan said, his voice loud now, and Anastasia ran.
She ran to save her life.
Anastasia turned around the corner, feeling helpless. She knew that it was probably just a game for that Logan guy. They were wolves, and wolves were born predators. They love a good chase.
And to say these wolves belonged to the most dangerous pack. The pack is known for its cruelty.
Thus, with the fear of being caught again, she ran.
It wasn’t easy.
It wasn’t supposed to be easy in the first place, but this place was literally a Mirage. Every corridor she turned, a new series of cells and prisoners appeared. There was no way out.
However, she didn’t stop. There has to be a way to enter and exit from this place. Anastasia turned around another corner, her eyes widening as soon as she saw the light break in the dark area.
The hope that was dimming, brightened again.
There it was, the path to go outside.
Anastasia gulped, hope clutching at her heart and pumping her limbs.

She heard a growl from somewhere behind, making her tremble, and she knew that the Logan guy was probably onto her now. Her heart skipped a beat before beating at the pace of a bullet train. She could hear the organ pumping in her head.
Anastasia didn’t waste a single second and rushed to the door that was only fifty meters away from her.

It was the only way to get out of here unscathed and get saved from meeting the devil, the devil who is known to hurt women without any mercy and r*pe them.
Anastasia groaned when her foot came in contact with an iron rod that she hadn’t noticed earlier, her entire body moving forward
uncontrollably.
Anastasia fell to the ground, her hand scratching on the hard pavement, making her groan.
It hurt pretty bad.
She was about to stand back to run towards the door when the hope she had felt earlier shattered to thousands of pieces. Her lips quivered as she looked at the silhouettes of the men standing at the door, blocking the light with their massive bodies.
Though their faces weren’t clear because of the dark, from the aura they were oozing, she knew they were no ordinary wolves. It was probably the security team and the beta of the pack.
A helpless tear rolled down Anastasia’s eyes when she felt her freedom taken away once again, but she quickly wiped the tear, not wanting to give anyone the pleasure of seeing her pain.
“Well, was our little kitten trying to run?” The same voice said, dark amusement clear in them, and Anastasia looked up, masking her pain and fear behind her anger.
“Why are you guys keeping me here? I did nothing wrong! I didn’t hurt anyone. Why are you guys doing this to me?! Is it fun to bully helpless. people? Is this how your pack thrives?” Anastasia shouted, and the man in front of her smirked before he grabbed her arm and pulled her up with a jerk, making her wince in pain.
“Do you want to know what we thrive on? Do you think you will be able to take it? The hunt?” The man asked, and Anastasia looked straight into his eyes, stepping closer to him, making the man narrow his eyes.
There was no way she would get out of there by running, thus she tried her last resort. Information.
“I know you guys do not fear the council, but I am sure you would want information on the rogue head. I heard your alpha has been trying to locate that man. Luckily, we have the same goal. I know that you might think what use I can be of, but I can give your alpha the information I am sure no one might have given him,” Anastasia tried to play her cards.

She thought she would get some kind of appreciation from the man in front of her, or he would at least try to negotiate, but to her surprise, he didn’t.
“Tie her up with the silver chains, Logan. And no games this time. I’ll be there in a minute. Let me quench my thirst from some blood,” the man said.
“Like alpha, like beta,” Anastasia said, and the man in front of her just looked at her observantly before turning around.
“Hey! I am still talking to you. Are you not interested in the information about=”
She couldn’t complete her sentence as the man slammed her on the wall, making her gasp loudly as he pressed her body through his.
“Look here, little girl. I don’t know what kind of mind games you are playing here, but let me be very clear. You are still under suspicion until we get a clean chit from those humans for you. Stop your nonsense because even if I leave you for being innocent, I can still pull that tongue out and leave you mute for trying that stunt with me last night,” the man said, looking into her eyes.
Her heart pounded against her chest loudly. Anastasia nodded like a deer caught in headlights.
“Understood. I’ll behave. Just keep your alpha away from me. I would rather drop dead than meet a r*pist,” Anastasia said, and the man chuckled coldly, his other subordinates, looking at them warily.
This wasn’t good. She just did not say the forbidden word. If their alpha hated anything most in this world, it was being called a r*pist. He never touched a woman like that, but those ugly rumours spread about him. He was a devil. It was apparent he was supposed to have a bad reputation, but this- he hated it.
“Funny fact, girl. No one cares about your life. So you can take your fear and push it somewhere up your a*s. We don’t give two damn,” the man said before he threw her to the ground harshly, making her wince as she looked at her scratched hand that was oozing blood now.
Anastasia looked at the man, who was raging and barely controlling his anger and was about to rebuke again when her hands were held by two men as they dragged her away to the previous cell she had run from..

“Aaaaaaa!” Anastasia screamed when the purest form of silver chain was used to tie her hands and legs.
Hot tears spilt from her eyes as blood started to gush out from her wounds that were burning under silver.
“mmphh!” She shouted with every movement, and Logan smirked at her. “That’s why when we are in the enemies‘ territory, we behave. I was tying you to normal chains, no? But you had to run your mouth loose and create trouble for yourself,” Logan chuckled before shrugging.
Anastasia could see it in his eyes.
He had known that those men were on their way, and that’s why he deliberately let her go.
“This is all your fault! You knew it all along and led me into the game,” Anastasia barked.

Her face turned to the side in shock. Her cheeks stung, and a weird ringing echoed in her ears. Someone had slapped her.
She looked at Logan with raging eyes, but it wasn’t him who slapped her. She turned to her right and noticed a seething woman standing with her. hands on her hips.
“That’s why I hate b*tches like you. How dare you even lay a hand on him? You called him a r*pist? The audacity you had, you f*cking b*tch!” That girl said.
Anastasia spat the blood that collected in her mouth.
It was a pretty hard slap, and she hated to admit that she was taken aback. by the sudden attack.

“Leave me alone! What did I do to –” Anastasia tried to struggle under the woman’s grip, but to no avail was she able to free herself.

She hated herself for it. She hated how weak she was even after hours of training. How was she supposed to fight an alpha like Jackson if she couldn’t even free herself from this woman?
There was no way struggling in these burning chains would help her, thus, Anastasia looked up at the woman.
“I don’t care and give a damn about this alpha, but I am sure if he mated. to you, he would die an earlier death. B*tches like you who have no sense of responsibility and only know to throw slaps here and there without knowing the full context of the situation, ruin packs,” Anastasia said, earning her another slap.
“You b*tch! How dare you!” The woman lunged at her, making Anastasia moan in pain before she laughed maniacally when the silver chains burnt the woman’s hands too.

“Do you want to die?” The man asked, and everyone held their breath.
Anastasia immediately looked down.
Maybe she was pushing her limits a bit too much. She looked up to apologise for her harsh impolite words but quirked her brows when she realized he wasn’t talking to her. He was talking to the woman who slapped her twice.

“Leave,” The man looked at the woman, and she bowed before leaving, not before glaring at Anastasia.
“Everyone leave,” the man said, and the relieved smile on Anastasia’s face froze.
It didn’t sound good and funny anymore.
