Chapter 41
Anastasia:
My heart raced as I heard the house’s door open, revealing two doctors and a nurse who entered the house.
Their eyes met mine and I shook my head, closing my legs as I refused to have them do what they wanted me to do. I hadn’t faked this pregnancy from Nikolay only for them to ruin this now.
Flashback:
“Please, don’t.” I said, shaking my head at the nurse, not wanting her to take my baby’s results. If they find out that the baby is not Nikolay’s, not only would I lose the chance of getting back to him, but he and his mother would have the upper hand on my lie, and that was the last thing that I needed.
The man, despite claiming that he wanted to have a child with me, was always very careful, and the ONLY reason why I slept with him after he got married was to fake this pregnancy. I was a month and a half in when it happened, and I initially wanted him to find out that since he was getting married, I too could find myself a man, but things did not work out as planned when I found myself with child. A child that I neither wanted nor could afford to even support.
But this child was my one shot, and I wasn’t going to lose it.
“The baby is not the man’s, and the two of us know it, Ms. Anastasia.” She told me, and I closed my eyes, shaking my head. Liana was her name, and she was the one who helped me when I first found out that I was pregnant. I was lucky that she was here when I came for this, had this been any other way, I didn’t know how I was going to handle the situation.
“Liana, please, he cannot find out that it is not his baby. He would never look at me again.” I said, shaking my head as tears fell from my eyes. The man hadn’t touched the woman because of me. Her father went to her house to make sure that she couldn’t have a baby because of me. I have

done all of this, and now they were going to find out about the baby not being his. This couldn’t be how things ended, I couldn’t allow them to end this way.
“You do know the risk behind what you are going to do, Anastasia.” Liana said, glaring at me. Thankfully, it was only the two of us who were in the room. They wouldn’t let his mother in claiming that this was a blood test and the baby was still far too young for this.
“I have come this far for this risk, Anastasia.” I said, taking a deep breath. She looked down at my stomach for a second before nodding as she pulled out MY blood to fake the results. “Thank you!”
“This is not how you will be thanking me.” She said, motioning to her pockets, silently asking me for money. I bit my bottom lip before nodding. Of course she wasn’t going to do this for free. But I never did consider it anyway. I knew the cost behind this, and I was more than ready for it.
“The money would be in your account before tonight.” I said, looking her in the eye. I just had to pay my ex a call. He was the father of the baby after all…
End of Flashback.
“You knew the path behind this when you first chose to refuse being careful, Anastasia.” She said, looking at me as she entered the room. Her heels clicked with each step she took, making my heart race in both fear and pain. I knew that she was remorseless, and I knew for fact that she wouldn’t care about whether or not my child lived, but this was MY baby, and I wasn’t going to allow her to take it from me.
“What are you going to do about your son? The man wouldn’t even look at

“This is Nikolay’s decision actually.” She said, crossing her arms over her chest as she glared at me. “The man has a wife, and that wife is the woman. that he would be spending his life with. He does not a mistress like yourself to be in his life for him to be satisfied.”

“You do not have the right to do this. I want to speak to Nikolay.” I said, watching as she nodded at the nurse and doctors to spread my legs. I screamed, shaking my head, not wanting them to touch me. I tried closing my legs, watching as they stripped me off my panties. She simply kept her eyes on me, watching as they worked.
“LET ME SPEAK TO HIM AT LEAST, THE MAN IS THE BABY’S
FATHER, HE HAS THE RIGHT TO KNOW OF THIS!” I yelled at the top of my lungs, my tears falling freely from my eyes as they spread my legs again, forcing them open.
“The more you resist, the more pain you will be in. You are going to tell me that the baby is yours, you did not force Nikolay into fucking you, and you have every right to choose whether or not you want the child.” She said, looking at me as she motioned for the doctors to stop. “But the two of us know for fact that the baby is not Nikolay’s.”
She opened her phone, showing me a video of me begging Liana in the room. My heart raced and tears fell from my eyes as I heard my words, and she smiled, waiting for what I had to say. My heart raced against my ribcage, and she motioned for the doctors to move away from me.
“So, now that I have this proof to show Nikolay, do you really believe that he would spare you a second glance?” She asked, raising an eyebrow at me. “Do you think that he would be believing anything that you say after this video?”
“How?” I asked, shaking my head as my hands shook as if I was being electro shot. Liana took my money and had the audacity to tell her.
“If you think that you can bribe a nurse into something as filthy as this, then you were very wrong.” She said, crossing her arms over her chest. “Not only did she lose her job, but she is now under investigation and could serve time in jail. Now, to say that is the worst part of it would be wrong. Because even IF she does leave or escape her time in jail, she has lost her license as a nurse and would never be able to obtain a new one nor would she be able to work anywhere with her past of accepting bribery. You know, they do have an oath to keep, and she broke it.”

“Please don’t do this to me.” I said, shaking my head and she smiled, her smile colder than ice.
“Who would take care of the child? I believe that the baby does not belong to Nikolay, and this video is proof of it.” She said, raising an eyebrow at me, waiting for my response, knowing for fact that I couldn’t support my baby on my own. I wouldn’t be able to afford his diapers if I wanted to. “Surely you were not going to try bribing another nurse into faking that the baby is yours, no?”
“I will take things from here, mother.” I heard Nikolay’s voice coming from the door behind her, breaking her sentence. My heart dropped to my stomach and the woman turned around to face her son whose eyes. were not only as hard as stone, but the pain that I read in them was one that I couldn’t explain.
“Nikolay…”
“Not a single word out of you.” Nikolay said, glaring at me. “Please leave us alone, I will take things from here…”
