It felt like she had been away from Lockwood Manor for the longest time.

Mason pulled into the entrance, leaned over, and took her coat.

Passing it to her, he looked at her intensely, “The snow isn’t too bad. Let’s walk the rest of the way.”

Zoe was concerned about the puppy, “Wouldn’t it be too cold for Sherry?”

Turning his head around, he looked at the puppy before looking at her and said deliberately, “I’ll keep it in my arms, as long as you won’t feel jealous!”

Putting on her coat, she opened the car door, “As if!”

Chuckling, he reached over to carry Sherry.

“Mommy’s getting angry!” he said softly. The puppy yapped twice in

response.

He put on his coat, got out of the car with Sherry in his arms, and closed the car door. Walking briskly, he caught up to Zoe and walked beside her while Sherry cuddled in his warm embrace.

The snow was falling gently.

Her voice was a little husky when she called out to him. She was about to ask him to let her go.

He lowered his head and looked at her. No words were spoken, but there was such affection in his eyes under the evening light.

It was a chilly night. The servant prepared a beef chili to warm them. up. She even commented that the beef was very fresh and

encouraged Zoe to have more.

She ate it and thought it was delicious.

The servant smiled and said, “That’s all that matters, Ms. Zoe! I’ll ask

the butcher to send more fresh beef over so I can make this for you

again.”

She wiped her hands on the apron and went back to the kitchen.

It was warm in the manor. Mason took off his coat, revealing his white shirt and deep gray long pants. Uncorking a bottle of wine, he paired it with the beef. Soon, a coat of red flushed his face, making it dashing and seductive.

He didn’t eat much. Instead, he kept making Zoe eat more. She had to

tell him that she couldn’t eat too fast.

With the glass of wine in his hand, he swirled its contents. He stared at her with deep, teasing eyes. There was a hint of lust in them too.

She didn’t want to stay the night initially, but she thought she was merely separated from him. If she acted shy and reserved, like a young girl in love, then she’d look too pretentious. So, she decided against it.

Night came and the snow began to fall more heavily. However, the heater in the eastern bedroom was cranked up high and it was as

warm as it’d be in spring season.

Zoe finished bathing and was applying conditioner in front of the makeup table. She stopped halfway through and opened the drawer for no reason. Her half-burnt diary was restored and put in there.

It would’ve looked like nothing had happened to it if it wasn’t for the missing words. The fights and the depressing moments felt like something she had simply dreamed up. However, half of the entries were gone. It was proof that the bleak incident did take place.

“I’m not done toying with her!”

“It’s over between us, Mason!”

“I’m tired, Mason. I’m done dealing with you.”

All of the pain and accusations came flooding back to her and brought tears to her eyes.

“What are you thinking about?” A pair of strong arms wrapped around her waist as she heard his voice. His body was very warm from the shower. It seeped through his bathrobe and heated up her back.

Her legs couldn’t help but tremble from the sensation of having his manhood pressed up against her. It was ready for action.

Her voice broke when she responded, “Nothing!”

She tucked her diary back into the drawer and closed it. He pressed his face against hers and guided her to look in the mirror. He murmured, “You said nothing, but your face is as red as wine!”

She couldn’t look at herself in the mirror. Mason was wearing nothing but the bathrobe and it wasn’t exactly fastened tightly. He was blatantly seducing her.

He asked her again, “When are we going to have another wedding

photo shoot?”

In her youth, it was her dream to have a dreamy wedding photo session with him, but she no longer feels the need to do it now. So, she replied nonchalantly, “That won’t be necessary.”

At the next moment, he carried her and put her down on the bed.
