Chapter 199
Mason went back to their bedroom, but Zoe was nowhere to be seen. He was frozen to the spot for a few seconds before he climbed the stairs to the third floor and opened the door to the room where she practiced her violin.
As he had guessed, she was right there. The violin was tossed onto the ground and she, too, fell onto the carpet. She looked so miserable, as if someone had irreparably ruined her intricate life!
Mason felt a pang of guilt at the sight. Taking light steps toward her, he knelt and said tenderly, “How about we travel and clear your mind? Go ahead and pick any country. Didn’t you used to want to go on a honeymoon trip? I can spare an entire month for traveling as soon as I wrap up the jobs I have on hand now.”
Lowering her head, she ran her fingers across her violin gently.
After a long pause, she said softly, “I want to go to Hucksburgh!”
Perhaps she wanted to attend the music concert, he thought. Aiden’s Global Classical Music Concert would be premiering tomorrow.
“I’ll go with you!”
She didn’t reject him, but she didn’t say anything either. She merely. kept quiet all the time. For the life of him, he couldn’t see through her.
They slept on the same bed when night came. However, they each. had their own internal struggles.
There were many occasions when he tried to hug her, but she slept. with her back to him. On top of that, her arms were wrapped around herself the whole time. It was her way of denying him.
Feeling dejected, he leaned on her shoulder and murmured, “You used.

She had to obey his orders when all was said and done.
So, Mason and Zoe took the private plane and flew to Hucksburgh in the afternoon. Her grip on the concert ticket never loosened throughout the entire flight,
He asked for a presidential suite the moment they arrived at a hotel. It cost him sixty-eight thousand dollars per night.
The receptionist couldn’t resist but steal glances at him when she gave him his room key. He was a young, wealthy guy, after all. It surprised her when she saw a wedding ring on his finger.

He might not have done this frequently, but it didn’t mean he didn’t know how to do it. By the time he was done, he was looking for ways to make her happy again.
He walked out of the fitting room and said cheerfully, “I’ll take you to
a restaurant later. They say that the food there…”
He stopped abruptly.
Zoe was gone. The concert ticket was nowhere to be seen as well.
He froze right where he stood for a long time before continuing softly, “The food there is delicious! I think you’ll like it.”
The lights were dim in Hucksburgh’s concert hall. It could fit five thousand people and not a single seat was empty.
Wearing a face mask, Zoe sat in the second row. The entire hall was thrown into a state of chaos. They accused Aiden of being a scammer because they bought the ticket to see the much-fabled rising star perform. Instead, what they got was an empty promise.
