Zoe hesitated to take the document from him.
Chuckling, Mason took a dig at her. “What’s the matter? Scared?”
She said softly, “Why would I be scared?”
Then, she took the document from him and started reading, but she didn’t get far before she was stunned by its contents.
These documents contained the details of some projects her father signed off on before Sanders Group was shut down. Some of these projects were halted. They even made the news. If this ever got out, then her father was going to be sentenced to lifetime imprisonment!
Her face turned pale and ashen.
Aware of what she was thinking, he took the documents over and set them on fire with a lighter. His voice was nonchalant when he spoke.
“Your father only signed them because someone tricked him! He’s a victim, too. I made no copies of this document. Once I burned it, nothing could put your father in harm’s way. Nothing will change even if they push your brother’s court date back.”
The documents were burned to a crisp in his fingers.
She was stunned. She knew this was a grand gesture and that he wasn’t doing it for free. Standing before him, she asked gently, “What do you want in return, Mason?”
He caught her drift. Tossing the burnt document aside, he leaned back on the couch and stared at her. He didn’t mince his words.
“What if I ask to have sex with you? Are you going to do that?”
Her lips trembled in response. After a brief pause, she unzipped her

dress. It slipped off and piled up with her high heels, revealing a pair of lean, fair legs. They were trembling out of fear as well.
It was impossible to forget what happened in the study that night. He had forced her to do things that scarred her for life. It was almost as he was possessed as he thrust into her forcefully. He made her feel
a worthless, broken doll.
With a sob, she said, “Here’s the deal. I’ll have sex with you, but you
have to wear a condom!”
Reaching out, he brushed her waist with his finger. She flinched from his touch immediately.
Raising his head, he looked at her and said in his husky voice, “Are you still thinking about what happened that night? It’s actually normal for a couple to do what we did, Zoe. I won’t mind if you want to do the same thing to me!”
His words made her feel so ashamed that she had to turn her head to the side. Then, he pulled her over gently and made her sit on his lap.
To her surprise, he didn’t take it a step further. Instead, he started to put her dress on for her.
He murmured in her ear when he released his grip. “I want to do it, but I want you to enjoy it too! Give me a chance to please you, Zoe. Let- me make you happy. I promise I’ll do everything better than I did before. Do you still remember that time I fingered you in the hospital? You enjoyed it so much. You were more eager to have sex back then than was.”
The thing was, he said what he said and tried to seduce her because he wanted her to go back to his side. All he wanted to do was marry her again!
