Chapter 269

After a brief moment, Zoe responded gently, “I’m going to Silvercrest. Rosemary recommended a pretty good location to me last month. I thought it was a strategic location and secured it.”

Silvercrest? That was surprising.

Lowering his head, he closed his lips on hers. After a long, intense kiss, he murmured, “Do you like that city so much?”

He was on a mission to make her happy. So, he reached out and took his phone, “I’ll ask Ava to look over my schedule. I’ll go with you if I can. We can enjoy some leisure time after your work is done.”

“It’s fine.” Propping herself up, she stopped him from taking the phone. “I’ll be back when my work is done. Moreover, I’m not really keen on a leisure trip. I’m feeling a little lazy, actually.”

His eyes grew darker while her heart pounded like crazy. She was worried he might sense something wasn’t right, but he merely closed her bathrobe after staring at her for a long time. He couldn’t resist fondling her supple breasts when he was tying up the cincture.

He still hadn’t sated his lust. So, his voice was a little deep when he spoke, “I appreciate you telling me that! Let’s go on a leisure trip after our baby’s born.”

She flashed him a faint smile in response.

Mason took her to the airport himself on the next morning.

After a meeting, Ava followed him back to the director’s office. Checking his schedule, she said, “Your meeting with Mr. Wilbur from the Dynamic Innovate Co. tonight has been canceled.”

Sitting at his desk, he started going through his work of the day. He a handsome man who put some thought into his attire. Not even the creases on his shirt were enough to diminish his elegance. The diamond cufflinks caught the light and reflected it brilliantly.

They were the cufflinks that Zoe bought for him, and they went well with almost everything he wore. He had been wearing them for a long while now.

Flipping through the documents, he asked casually, “Is there anything important scheduled for the afternoon?”

Shaking her head, Ava responded, “Nothing at the moment.”

Fiddling with the golden pen in his hands, he contemplated his options. Moments later, he said lightly, “Check for flights to Silvercrest. Prepare a private plane if there aren’t any. I want to be there before evening.”

Ava was well aware that Zoe was in Silvercrest. So, she assumed he was flying there to keep his wife company. She responded with a smile, “At once, Mr. Mason. Also, congratulations on becoming a father!”

Mentioning Yanni filled his heart with warmth, but he pretended to be unmoved and said, “I’m going to be thirty years old next year. It was merely part of the plan.”

Smiling faintly, she walked out of his office, closed the door, and leaned on it.

It was time for her to move on from Mason.

Mason was in Silvercrest, but he didn’t let Zoe know about it.

After his plane had arrived and he got into a private car, he gave Zoe’s

assistant, Peyton, a call and asked about her itinerary.

Peyton’s voice was sweet and pleasant to hear. “Ms. Zoe had a dinner appointment with a friend in Darlington’s Delights.”

A friend in Silvercrest, huh?

He never knew that she had a friend here. However, he didn’t say much to Peyton. He merely told her not to let Zoe know about their conversation and she didn’t think much of it either.

“Understood, Mr. Mason. You’re trying to surprise Ms. Zoe.”

Hanging up the phone, he checked the time and ordered the chauffeur, “Take me to Darlington’s Delights.”

Turning the car around, the chauffeur drove towards the destination.

Dusk was approaching by the time they reached the restaurant. The evening sky looked as red as blood and looked dim against the neon lights in the city.

The chauffeur parked the car and went over to open the backseat door for him. “Should I wait for you here, Mr. Mason?”

Nodding, he strolled into the restaurant and found Zoe in less than a minute. She was having dinner with an elegant man. There was a young, beautiful girl as well. She was a teenager and she was very close with Zoe. From the looks of it, this wasn’t the first time they had met each other.
