Chapter 270
Mason recognized the elegant man. He was Farley, the famous businessman in Silvercrest!
If his memory served him right, Rosemary was pretty close to this man. She even invited him to the outdoor party Mason had in his manor. Did that mean Rosemary was responsible for Zoe’s friendship with him?
Sneering, he walked over to their table. Zoe raised her eyes and was stunned to see him in the restaurant. She murmured, “What are you doing here, Mason?”
Smiling faintly, he held her shoulders, looked at her, and said tenderly, “I wanted to surprise you. So, I found out from your assistant that you’re having dinner here!”
Extending a hand to Farley, he smiled politely, “We meet again, Farley!”
Farley took his hand and introduced his daughter to Mason. Then, Mason patted her head affectionately and said with a smile, “Zoe loves kids. Thanks for bringing your daughter along, Farley!” With that, he sat down next to Zoe and joined their dinner.
Both he and Farley were successful businessmen. Naturally, their conversations revolve around the business industry. However, he didn’t forget about Zoe either. He’d put food on her plate and talk to her tenderly.
Zoe knew better than anyone why he was doing it.
They finished dinner and said farewells to Farley and his daughter. After that, they stood next to each other beneath the neon lights and remained quiet for a long time.

Silence hung over them for a spell.
Then, the chauffeur brought the car around and said, “I’ll send you back to the hotel, Mr. Mason, Ms. Zde.”
They were both quiet again. In the end, it was Zoe who spoke first,” There’s nothing between me and Farley! You’re reading too much into
it!”
“Is that so?”
Leaning over, he looked at her and said ever so softly. Perhaps he didn’t want the chauffeur to overhear their conversation.
“Farley might have a daughter, but hesitate to think he has a wife! Let me guess. Is he trying to hit on you? He knew that you’re a married lady, but that didn’t stop him from clutching to the hope that he could be with you one day.”
Turning her head to the side, she said, “We’re just friends!”
She expected Mason to start throwing fits again. However, to her surprise, he merely looked at her briefly before saying, “I believe in you, Zoe.”
Zoe went to the bathroom as soon as they were back in the hotel
room.
Mason looked around and saw that she had reserved the executive suite. It was a little more than eight hundred and sixty square feet, more than enough for two people to stay here. However, he didn’t have time to ponder on it.
Giving a call to Ava, he ordered her to check on something. Then, he looked through the paperwork on the bedside table while he waited.
It was Zoe’s permanent residency agreement in Silvercrest. His eyes
grew darker at what he found. About five minutes later, his phone buzzed. Ava had sent him a document.
His expression shifted slightly when he read it on his phone. He proceeded to take a cigarette and started smoking it. Wisps of light smoke lingered in the air.
Mason was experiencing all sorts of emotions at once.
Zoe had secured a permanent residency in Silvercrest and applied for a passport here. She also bought a villa here that was about three thousand and two hundred square feet.
It was a beautiful place and it came attached with a garden. The location was strategic as well. There was a hospital, school, as well as convenience store around it. It was definitely a good place to start a family!
However, he wouldn’t be a part of the family!
Zoe hadn’t included him in her plans for the future!
