Chapter 315
Eira felt so ashamed, she could just die.
“Get out of here. Don’t make me call the security guards,” he said.
She responded tearfully, “I knew it. Deep down, you still love Ms. Zoe”
Now, why would he tell her anything about him and Zoe?
At the next moment, he asked Ava to come to his office, take Eira away, and deal
with her.
Eira was bewildered as she was being taken away. What did she do wrong? Why wouldn’t Mason want her? She was Lilith’s cousin and she resembled Zoe a little.
Ava pressed the elevator button and said with a blank expression, “Flirting with a man like Mr. Mason is like playing with fire, Ms. Eira! You have to have something to make him fall in love with you!
No
“Do you have immaculate beauty? You can’t even hold a candle to Ms. Zoe. How about talents? Nothing there, either. You are innocent as a lamb in this cruel reality and you expect Mr. Mason to wipe your butt every time!
“He would’ve made you his mistress if he had any intention to keep you. Get it through your thick skull. Has he ever looked for you without you asking him to?”
Eira’s face turned pale. “I’ll never be someone’s mistress!”

Sneering, Ava said, “That means you’re an even bigger fool than I thought! Given his
status, Mr. Mason would much rather seek out someone from high society, like
Gabriela, if he ever decided to remarry!
“You, on the other hand, were merely something he used to spice up his life a little.
You’re nothing but a tool he used to rile up Ms. Zoe!”
Her words had completely stunned Eira.
Mason felt hollow after Ava closed his door. Slumping onto the couch, he sat there
for a long time, murmuring Zoe’s name
It turned out that she could still break his heart even though he had moved on from
her. It had been half a month since she was gone. Perhaps he should pay her a visit
of look at her from the outer perimeter of the villa.
He drove to the rehabilitation center in the middle of the night.
The villa had stood there for more than twenty years. Tall walls were erected around
it to prevent anyone from peeping in. There was no internet or phones here, but
everything else was well provided for. It was quiet around here, perfect for
recovering from chronic illnesses.
Mason parked his car outside. The snow was thick, but it didn’t reach the car’s
underside. Getting out of the car, he stepped into the snow and thought it must’ve been eight inches deep at least. They melted quickly and stained the hem of his long
pants, making him uncomfortable from the chill.
However, he didn’t pay any attention. Instead, his eyes followed a ray of moonlight
and rested at the villa’s second floor.
Zoe was right in there. The wall was the only thing that separated them.
wanted to go
He
in and check on her, but he decided against it. What was he hoping
to achieve anyway? He had made up his mind to move on from her and give her
back her life.
In the end, he just stood there for a long time and left afterward. The black Land
Rover tore off into the distance, the moonlit medieval villa looking as deserted as it
was creepy in his rear–view mirror.
What Mason didn’t know was that Zoe was curled up in a corner on the second floor.
There was no heater for her there, nor were there any doctors appointed to care for
her. There wasn’t even hot water for her to bathe with.
She had to hug herself in an attempt to fight the unforgiving cold. Track marks lined
up all over her slender arm. The doctor administered sedatives to her every day to
keep her calm and docile. He was acting on Lisa’s orders.
Mason wasn’t aware of any of this.
As tai as he knew, she was well taken care of and was undergoing proper treatment.
The truth was that Zoe had to fight hard just to survive the place. She was trembling from the cold and yet she couldn’t even ask for a bowl of hot soup or a hot shower. She was subjected to torture every single day, reminding herself that she had to
brave through it and survive.
Yanni needed her. She had to pull through.
At times, she’d murmured her baby’s name repeatedly just to keep herself sane. Otherwise, outrageous thoughts would invade and consume her mind. All she could do was wait until Mason deigned to visit her.
The moon set outside the window. She knew that a new year was just around the
comer!
Zoe kept waiting, but it was a fool’s errand. Mason didn’t remember her being here, she thought. He had probably cast her out of his mind, abandoning her in this wretched villa.
However, she didn’t want to die here. She couldn’t give up!
She held on to the belief that the flowers would bloom in spring and everything. would be fine then…
