Zee couldn’t help but raise her eyes and look at him. There was lust in his eyes. 

Their eyes were locked onto each other as both of them were thrown back to the countless nights they pleasured each other. He had pinned her slender wrists on the pillow as he raised and lowered his hips repeatedly. 

It seemed that sex was all that was left between them, aside from the painful 

memories. 

Zoe smiled miserably. Struggling slightly, she spoke with a hushed voice, “Mason…” 

Staring at her, he said softly, “I know I’m overstepping my boundaries, but I can’t hold myself back. I’m not keen on knowing that you’re dating him.” 

Then, he decided to drop it because he knew she disliked the way he asked it. Then, he behaved like a gentleman and escorted them to her car. 

Mia was carrying Yanni. So, she got into the car first. Just as Zoe was about to do the same, he said gently, “I’m going to hang out with Yanni tonight.” 

She hesitated for a second. He wasn’t about to let up, but he maintained his gentle tone when he spoke, “I just want to hang out with her. Is that okay? I’ve missed her 

so much, Zoe…” 

“Fine.” 

He held the door for her like a gentleman, mindful of his boundaries. Then, he wore a blank expression as the car drove off into the distance. 

He relayed an order to Ava, who was standing behind him. “Find Yanni’s medical 

records at all costs. I want it by this evening.” 

Ava’s eyes were still filled with tears. 

She was a mother as well. A couple of days later after she gave birth, she received a 

handsome gift from an address in Silvercrest. Zoe had sent it to her. She kept her 

word and repaid Ava’s favor.

Holding the report, he flipped it from page to page before going to the cover and repeating the process again. In the end, he leaned back on the couch and lit a cigarette. However, he didn’t smoke it. Instead, he spaced out while the light green 

smoke surrounded him. 

Yanni was sick. That was why she told him helplessly that she had a nosebleed! 

Zoe came back to Brookesville because of Yanni’s condition. That was why she appeared before him again. She probably wanted to have another baby with him! After that, she’d just vanished into thin air, taking their newborn with her. 

Raising his head slightly, he gulped. After a long time, he said while fixing his gaze on the fluorescent light above her, “I don’t care how close you are with Zoe, Ava. I forbid you from telling her about this!” 

Ava hesitated for a while before agreeing to it. 

He sat there by himself for a long time after she left his office. He thought about a lot 

of stuff, such as Yanni’s condition and meeting Zoe again after such a long time. 

The sky had turned dark before he stood up and left. 

Driving to the mall, he bought a toy that little girls love and went straight to Zoe’s

Zoe opened the door for him and both of them looked at each other with uncertainty. Lowering his head, he took off his shoes and pretended to ask nonchalantly, “Where’s Mia and Deborah?” 

She responded, “They went out buying groceries!” 

Nodding, he took off his coat and put it on his hand. He was wearing the shirt she bought him years ago. The hem of the collar suffered some wear and tear and was no longer crisp. It looked like he had worn it regularly for the past few years. 

He noticed her gaze and smiled faintly, “I had worn it for a long time. The fact that the laundry services out here aren’t as careful as you were didn’t help.”
