Chapter 354
Mason bore a grudge towards Zoe. So, he wasn’t exactly eager to spend time with Zoe after he came back from Hucksburgh.
On the other hand, she stayed out of his way whenever he came over to hang out with Yanni. At first, he found it distasteful. However, he paused and thought that she loved Farley now. Any and all sexual relationship she had with him was just so she could get pregnant with his baby.
It had nothing to do with love.
The more he thought about it, the more he kept a distance from her. Aside from their mutual love for their little girl, there was virtually
nothing left between them now.
Soon, the weekend arrived.
Mason stood by the window and looked downward from his office on the top floor of Lockwood Corporation. The building looked like it caught fire by the orange glow from the evening light in the middle of
autumn.
He was spacing out when he received a call from Zoe. She said
, “Do you have the time to do it?”
Instead of responding to her immediately, he cast his gaze at the horizon for a long time. Her period must’ve ended.
“Sure!”
They met each other at the Hilton Hotel at eight in the night.
The lights were turned off in the presidential suite. He was sitting by
the window, glancing at the neon lights in the city, lost in thought.
Zoe opened the door and saw his silhouette against the light,
highlighting the defined shape of his side profile. However, he wore a stern expression on his face.
The slight creaking of the door alerted him of her presence. Tilting his head, he said in his husky voice, “You’re here!”
She didn’t respond to him, nor did she turn on the light. It was probably better if they did it in the dark. She began strolling towards him wordlessly, slowly revealing what she wore for tonight, a long, lace dress that complimented her figure perfectly. Her hair was tied back and she wore the same pair of pearl earrings.
Touching her ears gently in the darkness, he took in the beautiful sight and asked, “Has your period ended?”
“Yes.”
Wrapping her arms around his neck, she started kissing him.
However, he didn’t reciprocate her advances. Moments later, he said, ”
First, we have to talk about the agreement!”
She stopped in her tracks and murmured, “Do we need an agreement for this?”
Leaning on the couch’s armrest, he bore into her and said coldly, “We have to agree on certain matters, such as custody, before we bring another baby into the world, unless you agree to remarry me now.”
There was no way she’d agree to a remarry.
He smirked at himself when he saw the look on her face. “That’s why we’re going negotiate an agreement.”
Leaning over, he switched on the night light.
It shone brightly, revealing her pale face and the contracts lying on
the coffee table. Blinking slowly, she asked incredulously, “How long ago did you prepare this?”
He retorted, “How long have you been planning to make another baby with me?”
She had nothing to say about that. He explained as she read the
contract, “I hold the custody when our second baby is born,
regardless of whether he’s a boy or a girl. That means he’s staying in Brookesville.
“I’ll raise him to be my heir if he’s a boy. On the other hand, if he turns out to be a girl, then I’ll have another plan for her.”
Zoe retorted, “I want to keep our second baby.”
He stared at her for a while before saying lightly, “You can refuse to sign the agreement, Zoe, but what makes you think I’ll still make a baby with you then?”
Instead of trying to appeal to his sentimental side, she lowered her gaze and smiled faintly, “You haven’t changed a bit, Mason.”
Snorting, he said snidely, “You seem to have changed a lot!”
In the end, she had no choice. She signed it, but she asked for joint custody before she did. He agreed to it in a heartbeat. “He’s your baby too. It’s only right that we go for joint custody.”
After that, they got down to business.
She thought he’d take her to the bedroom. After all, it had been a long, long time since he did anything out of the norm.
To her surprise, he pressed her against the window right there and then. It was such a provocative sight. He was so rough with her that her slender feet were trembling slightly.
She cried out, “Mason!”
