Luke stepped out of the car and left both of them alone in the car. Within the confined space, both of their scents did everything they could to penetrate each other’s bodies. The sensation was
overwhelming.
What was sad was that Zoe might’ve been sitting next to him now, but he no longer had a place in her heart.
Lowering the car window halfway through, he cast his glance outside and said in a somewhat tender tone, “Where are the kids? Why didn’t you bring them along? Jamie has got to be two years old by now!”
Zoe prepared herself for this moment, but her eyes still couldn’t help
but turn red.
It turned out that he knew about Jamie all along. All this time, he knew that she was pregnant with his second baby. He knew that baby Jamie had been born, but he still chose to leave them alone for so
long.
How ironic, she thought. She was the fool who waited for him to show up in Silvercrest for the past couple of years.
However, she could never ask him about it. All she’d achieve by doing that was put herself through more humiliation. Suppressing her
lings, she asked, “What do you want, then?”
Maintaining a blank face, he said, “If memory serves me right, we signed an agreement. If you get pregnant with our second child, then he or she is rightfully mine. If the baby turns out to be a boy, he’d be the heir to the Lockwood family.”
Glaring at him with reddened eyes, she asked him with a shaky voice, Are you trying to threaten me again, Mason?”

Zoe was trembling all over at what he said. Gripping the door handle with her lean fingers, she got ready to step out of the car, regardless of her shaky legs. Then, she heard his voice from behind. “Can I come and see the kids when I miss them?”
There was a lump in her throat. “Sure.”
He watched as she got out of the car and said softly, “I’m sorry about what I said tonight! I didn’t mean it.” He couldn’t resist seeing her

Initially, it was hard for him to accept it, but one glance at his busted legs was enough to make him swallow the hard pill.
Was he supposed to shackle Zoe to him and have her tend to his every need for the rest of her life? Was she supposed to sit on top of

She closed the car door and was about to step away when he
