Chapter 476
The sound of an engine starting could be heard in Mason’s manor.
Lisa was wearing an overcoat and sitting gracefully in the backseat, signs of tears still visible on her face. However, she appeared to be elegant. After all, her appearance mattered very much to her.
She was going to Zoe’s place to beg her to check on Mason.
Twenty minutes later, the black limousine stopped in front of the black ornate gate. Her chauffeur was about to honk, but she stopped
him.
She said softly, “I’m walking in!”
Her chauffeur was stunned, but she had already opened the car door and stepped out of it.
The security guard reported her arrival to Zoe and let her in shortly
after.
The moon was shining bright in the sky as her eight-inch high heels stepped on the snow. Her stocking got wet from the splash ar chill ate into her bones.
It was so cold that she was shivering all over, but her face spoke determination.
She was going to take Zoe back to Mason’s manor.
Stopping before her manor, she saw that the door was closed, but the lights were on inside. Standing outside the door, she shouted, “I want to see Zoe! Let me see her.”
At the next moment, the door opened and someone poured cold
water over her.

It was Mia.
Lisa was drenched from head to toe. It was so cold that her clothes were starting to freeze. However, she paid it no mind. Looking at Mia solemnly, she repeated herself. “I want to see Zoe!”
Mia had gotten the news that Mason was sick and that it was very serious. With that said, she could never forget that Lisa almost killed Zoe. She poured the cold water over her because she wanted to chase her off the premises.
Lisa realized that Mia wasn’t going to budge.
She knew Mia hated her for being heartless. After she hesitated for a while, she kneeled in the snow, still dressed in her drenched clothes.
Then, she started to plead with her, “I know I did things you can’t forgive, Mia. Believe me when I say I know that I did wrong by Zoe! However, you’ve never given birth to your own child. So, you can’t possibly know how I feel. I can’t just stand by and do nothing when my son is suffering.”
Mia cut her off and asked her coldly, “What do you mean I don’t have a child?
“Zoe and Noah are my children! For that matter, I even used to thi of Mason in the same way and treated him like my own! Look at wha he did to Zoe, though. Hell, look at what you did to her! You
Lockwoods are animals!”
With that, she turned around and left.
She might’ve put up a hard front, but, on the inside, she actually went soft. No matter what happened, Mason did save Zoe’s life.
Once she left, Lisa kneeled in the snow and cried.
It didn’t seem like she’d leave.

After all, she had promised her son that she’d take Zoe back to him. Mia had just stepped into the manor when she saw Zoe fully dressed. She stared at her for a long time before she walked over and tugged her collar.
Then, she helped her put on a scarf and said, “It’s cold out there. You’re not exactly strong either. So, you have to keep yourself warm at all times! Gee. I don’t think I can ever stop worrying about you.”
Zoe responded, “I’ll be back before you know it.”
Mia was worried that her stepdaughter would go soft when she saw
Mason.
Zoe was perfectly aware of that too. “We used to be married in the past. There’s no changing that. On top of that, he’s the father of my children. I’ll check on him and come back home as soon as his fever goes down.”
Just like that, Mia stopped wrestling with it. The truth was, she didn’t want anything bad to happen to Mason either.
Zoe walked to the door and opened it.
The biting wind rushed inside immediately. It was so cold tugged at her overcoat again.

After a brief moment, she came to her senses and said, “Mason kept calling out to you, Zoe! I beg you, please check on him!”
