Chapter 482

Then, Yanni was astonished to find that her dad was holding the knife. with his right hand.

Wasn’t her dad’s right hand busted?

She might’ve been a six-year-old, but she did a good job at keeping the question to herself. Lowering her head, she continued to eat her dinner. Exhilarated over the revelation, she helped herself to four bread rolls and half of the casserole She even put two pieces of grilled salmon on Jamie’s plate.

‘I hate salmon!’ The little boy thought to himself.

After dinner, Mason brought both of his kids upstairs. Jamie played with his toys on the floor while Yanni did her homework under her

dad’s guidance.

Mason had graduated from a renowned college and commanded an abundance of knowledge in various subjects. So, she was growing more and more impressed with him by the second.

Then, she stuck her pencil into her father’s hand.

Glancing at the pencil in his right hand, he proceeded to turn his gaze to Yanni. His little girl might’ve been six years old, but she was deceptively intelligent!

Needless to say, he felt proud to be her father. Instead of exposing her intention, he continued to teach her math. Yanni was a smart girl. She was only a kindergartener, but she was already reading and writing at third-grade level.

She was very clingy with her dad too

The night rolled on and he was soothing Jamie before putting him to

sleep.

Yanni came in from the next room. Holding a small pillow and

wrapping herself with a blanket, she snuggled into Mason’s chest. Pressing her face against his arm, she gave him a children’s book and looked at him beseechingly.

Yanni was already used to putting herself to sleep. However, she didn’t always get the chance to come here and she missed her dad a lot. On top of that, she felt closer to her dad ever since she found out about his secret. That made her want to spend more time with him.

A warm, loving sensation swelled in Mason’s chest as he set himself down on the bed with each of his children by his side.

Stroking Yanni’s hair gently, he read the book to her softly. Yanni was already very tired. He had barely read two pages before she dozed off.

The human mind is at its most vulnerable when we sleep.

Yanni held onto his arm and clutched it tightly. The little girl inadvertently revealed her fears in her sleep.

She was dreaming about that same, terrible day. She was in the operating room again. No matter what she did, she couldn’t wake her dad.

Nobody brought it up again after the surgery.

However, she vaguely knew that her dad became what he was today because of her. She was the reason her dad had to sit in the wheelchair and could only move one arm. She knew, ultimately, that that was why her dad didn’t dare to be with her mom.

She had a nightmare tonight. Weeping, she kept calling out to her dad.

It took Mason a long time to soothe her, keeping her close to his

chest. That probably did the trick because Yanni slowly relaxed and calmed down, listening to his steady heartbeat.

Underneath the dim light, he looked at her and kissed her forehead.

He had both of his kids in his arms, but all he could think about was their mother. Zoe used to be a young girl as well. She, too, sat at the back of his bicycle while grumbling that she wanted to be sent back

home in a limousine.

For what it was worth, he chased her away!

It was late in the night when Zoe’s flight touched down at Nihonburg.

Instead of staying in the hotel, she took a cab and went straight to Noah’s private villa in the country. It was approaching eleven o’clock in the night when she arrived at the place.

To her surprise, all of the lights were turned on in the villa even thoug was close to midnight.

Fence the tragedy, Gwynn only had the mental capacity of a

ager. She hadouble going to sleep and was very picky when it ne to food. Op of that, she couldn’t tell warm from cold. She ould wear a si shirt and dress before treading outside to admire the moon on y night. Then, she’d go looking for medicine when she caught
