Chapter 495
A servant gave her a bucket of warm water.
Dipping her feet in the bucket, she let out a pleasant sigh. Leaning on the couch cozily, she paged through a book she found nearby.
Mason sat right across the room.
The next thing she knew, the water in the bucket splashed as he gripped her legs. She tried to pull them away, but she couldn’t. Her voice was husky when she spoke.
“Mason…”
To her surprise, he started giving her a foot rub.
Raising his eyes, he stared at her profoundly. A moment later, he wiped her feet dry and held them to his chest. Holding them firm, he put on socks for her as he admired the pair of fair feet before him. It felt as if they were calling out to him seductively.

Raising his eyes again, he looked at her and said ever so softly, “Are you turned on?”
There wasn’t anybody around them, but that didn’t stop her from
feeling embarrassed. She kicked him lightly and said, “Let my feet go! Stop acting like a pervert in my house!”

Then, he saw the invitation on the coffee table. Picking it up to read, he realized it was sent by David.

As expected, he opened his stupid mouth and said, “Your ex-boyfriend has gotten married! Does it bother you?”
Swiping the invitation from him, she said dryly, “It’s none of your business.”
To his credit, he didn’t press on it. He said, “I got his invitation too! How about we attend his wedding ceremony together?”
Curling up on the couch and covered in a wool blanket, she flicked her curly, long hair and started to play hard to get. “You have your life and I have mine, Mason! There’s no need to act as if we’re close and

Leaning back on the couch, he took the book she was reading earlier and paged through it casually. After a brief moment, he said nonchalantly, “I turned you on through a foot rub earlier, for crying out loud. Now, you’re saying we have separate lives?”
Zoe made the gesture for him to get out of there in response.
Staring at her, he asked, “Are you sure you want me to go?”
When all was said and done, he missed. There was no one around.

Then, she fiddled with her phone, pretending to be busy.
It was night, but she didn’t invite him to stay. It was still snowing out there, but he kissed both of his kids before he headed out the door.
Yanni’s eyes were filled with tears as the door closed.
Mia waited until Mason was gone and said, “His feet are far from recovering fully! Look at the time. Are you sure you’re going to make him drive all the way home?”
Looking at the snow out the window, Zoe said, “Luke’s going to send
him back.”
Mia said hastily, “Luke left in the afternoon! So, Mason’ll have to drive himself. Geez… I just can’t stop worrying about him! Please check on him, Zoe.”
Zoe hesitated for a while before she put on a coat and went outside.
There was a black Bentley parked outside of her villa. It was the same model he had always driven, but he had clearly bought a new one for himself.
At that moment, its roof was covered with a thin layer of snow. He was sitting in it, smoking a cigarette. The car window was lowered halfway through as thin wisps of smoke drifted out of it before being carried away by the wind.
Then, she opened the car door.
Raising his eyes, he looked into her eyes and asked tenderly, “What’s the matter?”
