It was warm in the villa. There were no one but old servants in here.
So, Zoe didn’t feel awkward about the fact that she was walking around, wearing nothing but sleepwear.
The last thing she had expected to find here was Mason and both of her kids. There was another person. Apparently, he brought over a female doctor, who was massaging Mia with some herbs from the
South Hinterlands.
Mia was really enjoying it.
Mason was standing by the side, looking at her. It was the first day of New Year, so he put some thought into his outfit. He wore a white shirt with a three-piece suit and paired it with a coat.
Underneath the glow of the crystal chandelier, his defined features appeared more attractive than they usually were, not to mention the enriched charm of his manly eyebrows.
He raised his eyes as soon as he heard some footsteps from the stairs. Then, he saw her.
She was wearing silk sleepwear that barely covered her private parts. The sunlight shone on her and brought out the contours of her body through the fabric. Needless to say, he remembered how her body looked the way he remembered his birthday.
His eyes grew darker at the sight.
They were just two steps away from each other at that moment. She instinctively wanted to turn back and get changed when he caught her wrist. Pulling her to his side, he whispered so only she could hear him, “Is this a treat for me?”

Paying him no mind, she asked, “Where are Yanni and Jamie?”
He was still checking her out as he responded slowly, “Luke’s out there, making a snowman with them.”
She felt better at that.
Shaking him off lightly, she greeted Mia before going back upstairs to get changed.

Instead, he stood by Mia and discussed her condition with the doctor.
Mia was a little embarrassed at how thoughtful he was.
“I feel a lot better, now that the doctor used the herbs from South Hinterlands! The truth is, it isn’t that big of a deal. I’m sorry I got you
worried.”
He responded without a second thought. “You’re my former mother-in- law. Of course, I’m worried about you.”
Mia didn’t say anything about that.
Moments later, Zoe went downstairs to take her breakfast. Yanni came running in, took Zoe’s hand, and started pulling her hand excitedly, “It’s snowing quite heavily out there, Mom. Will you make a snowman with us? Also, the winter jasmine blossomed too. They look so majestic.”
Did Yanni just say the winter jasmine blossomed?
Looking out the window, she realized the snow had indeed gotten heavier. The winter jasmine at the corner of the yard had indeed blossomed. They had relocated the trees from Kirk Manor a while ago. Naturally, she had to see it.

Raising her eyes, she locked gazes with him and found nothing but affection in his eyes.

Luke was carrying Jamie in his arms. Her little boy was wearing several layers of clothes, ensuring no risk of catching a cold. Zoe played in the snow with Yanni and made two adorable snow bunnies.
She felt chilled to the bones when she was out there. From time to time, she’d accidentally meet his gaze.
He was standing on the steps, about two steps away from her.
The sunlight was weak and gentle on this snowy day. It shone on him, enveloping him with a warm glow. The sight captivated her, throwing her back to the moments when he was a young adult all the way back to the present.
Time itself seemingly froze.
She said softly, “Looking at the snow, I think this year is going to be a good year for both of us…
The snow was so white and pristine, even more so than in previous years. It was more than enough to wash away everything bad between them, she thought.
Mason stared at her with unblinking eyes.
