Saül asked solemnly, “Is it because of Mason?”
He had put his feelers out and confirmed that Zoe was no longer attached to Mason. Moreover, he put a lot of thought into it before he started making his moves on her.
He was no longer a young man. That was why he gave himself enough time to be sure that he wanted a wife like Zoe.
She was exquisite and charming, exactly his type.
Zoe shook her head, “It’s not entirely about him, Saül! Please believe me when I say I have reasons of my own for this decision.”
Staring at her for quite some time, he finally confirmed that she wasn’t joking, nor was she playing hard to get.
What a shame, Saül thought to himself.
Despite his personal feelings, he maintained his composure and said, “If that’s the case, I hope you’ll do me the honor of having this dinner with me! We can seize this opportunity and talk about the details of the collaboration.”
She didn’t make something out of his invitation. The fact was that she loved dealing with smart, mature men. Now that they had defined their relationship, they could go on and become business partners.
It was a rather pleasant dinner.

That still didn’t convince her, but Saul was quite persistent with it. He was such a good guy, she thought to herself.

Before Saül could even start the engine, someone opened the car door on Zoe’s side. The next thing she knew, Mason’s voice rang in her ears. “Get out of there!”
She was completely stunned.
Mason looked very upset, almost as if he was catching her cheating on him. At that moment, she was caught at an impasse. If she got
out of the car, it’d mean she had squandered on Saül’s generous offer. On the other hand, she’d downright humiliate Mason if she didn’t.

Mason wore a cold expression and nodded politely.
Then, he took Zoe away and shoved her into his black Bentley. Zoe didn’t say anything after she got in. It was plain to see that she was pissed off.
Running his hands across the steering wheel, he spoke in a husky voice. However, it was obviously laced with both anger and affection. “Was it a blind date?”
