Chapter 519
Outside of Westley’s apartment, the wiper on the black Bentley kept swishing, doing its level best to beat the rainwater to either side of
the windshield.
Luke was chatting with Westley in the car.
The old chauffeur said, “Mr. Mason might look cold, but he really has your best interest at heart! Look at the terrible weather now. It’s pouring and he’s reluctant to let you out of the car. That’s why he offered to take your pills for you.”
He added, “Mr. Mason’s far better than my poor excuse of a son!”
Westley led twenty-odd years of an ordinary life. As a result, he was very neighborly. Not only did he chat with Luke, but he even praised how successful the old chauffeur’s son was.
Luke chuckled and said, “He only managed to become a manager because Mr. Mason was gracious enough to give it to him! I’ve no idea how I’m going to repay Mr. Mason.”
Pride was swelling in Westley’s chest.
Thanks to his capable son, Lockwood Corporation’s market cap was increased by several folds in his absence. How was he not supposed to beam with pride?
Both of them were still chatting when Mason came downstairs. The
moment he got into the car, Luke was about to start driving.
That was when Mason said, “Take us to Lockwood Corporation. I
need to get to the lab.”
Luke was about to ask what was going on, but he thought better of it when he saw his master’s solemn expression. Stepping on the gas
pedal, he drove towards Lockwood Corporation.
It was June. The rain continued to pour.
An eerie silence hung over the car. After a long time, Westley couldn’t hold it any longer. “Did something happen, Mason?”
Leaning over, Mason stared at him.
A second later, he opened his palm, revealing the questionable bottle of pills. “This is no common pill for migraine. I suspect there might be some illegal components in them. I can only draw a conclusion once
I tested it in the lab.”
Westley gasped in shock. “How is this possible?!”
Mason remained quiet at that. He merely sat there with a solemn expression as he looked at the rain lashing outside the window.
He could see it now. The truth about Westley’s amnesia was about to
rear its ugly head.
An hour later, the black Bentley pulled over at the lab.
Mason did the test himself.
The results showed that there were some illegal components in the pill that actively damaged the central nervous system. Long-term consumption would lead to chronic fatigue syndrome, amnesia, and
more conditions.
It continued to pour outside.
Gripping the bottle of pills, Mason said calmly, “It matches the same components we’ve extracted from your previous physical examination. If my assumptions are correct, the same person has been drugging you throughout all these years! What’s more, he or she is still around you!”

Westley gasped from shock once more. “Who’s doing this to me?!”
Staring at his father, Mason asked, “Who had access to this bottle of pills? Think hard about it. Don’t leave out any details.”
Westley did just that.
After a brief moment, he said, “No one could’ve swapped it out for
something else because I just unwrapped the bottle of pill this morning. Moreover, Dr. Jürgen gave it to me personally. There shouldn’t be any foul play here…”
“Dr. Jürgen?” Mason’s eyes grew darker, “Are you talking about Jürgen from the neurology department in my hospital?”
Westley nodded and said, “Why don’t we give him a call and confirm it? It just so happens that he’s working the night shift today. I don’t think there’s many patients there right now.”
Night shift, he said…
Taking off his lab coat, Mason took brisk steps toward the door. He said stiffly, “We’re going to Lockwood Hospital now!”
That stunned Westley.
He was no fool himself. By now, he knew his son distrusted Dr.
Jürgen. He might’ve trusted the doctor a lot in the past, but he certainly trusted his son way more when it came to an emergency.
Anyone could’ve turned on him, but not his son!
Rain battered the top of the black Bentley as it tore through the
atenata banding for Inclusad Hospital
