Chapter 518

Dewetta was completely dumbfounded.

All of a sudden, she felt a shiver down her spine. Her eyes darted between Mason and Westley in disbelief. They actually looked very much like each other. It was just that their bearing was different.

Surrounded by wisps of smoke, Mason said, “Bingo! He’s my father! Also, he has a wife! He’ll have to divorce my mother if he wants to marry someone else! I’m aware that you’re quite the ambitious one in the company, Dewetta. Is that why you want to be my stepmother?”

At that moment, her face had turned pale, almost devoid of color.

She then recalled that she still had the groping angle. Wasn’t it true that the security camera couldn’t capture them?

Leaning over, Mason snuffed out his cigarette and said nonchalantly, It’s fine! Go ahead and press charges. Lockwood Corporation is going to send its legal team for this case. At the same time, they’ll make sure everyone knows about this incident.

“Believe me when I say you won’t be able to land another job. Your family and friends are also going to stay as far away from you as possible.”

Dewetta’s face turned paler. She looked as white as a sheet now.

Rising, he chuckled dryly, “There are only two outcomes for this incident. I’ve just told you what the first outcome will look like. The second outcome will look like this. You’ll admit to the officers that you made a false report and they’ll detain you for seven days. The company is going to issue a letter of understanding to you for your trouble.”

Then, he headed straight to the door!

She called out to him, “Mr. Mason!”

He ignored her. Stopping in his tracks, he said to Westley. “What are you waiting for?”

Westley followed him immediately.

They were at the door when they bumped into the company lawyer, Cameron, who had just made his way here.

Cameron saw the situation, wiped the sweat off his forehead, and sucked up to his director, “Here I am, thinking it’s going to be the trickiest case I’ve ever handled. Then, you came and showed me how it’s done with nothing but a few words.”

Snorting, Mason responded, “It’s been a long day. I don’t need your groveling!”

Wiping sweat again, Cameron greeted Westley respectfully.” Greetings, Mr. Westley. It must’ve been an upsetting experience.”

That was when Dewetta knew she had just crossed someone she couldn’t afford to offend.

Outside the police department, the wipers on the black Bentley were swishing left and right, pushing rainwater away from the center of the windshield.

Luke saw them coming out and walked over immediately. He

supported Westley by his arms and said, “Geez. Look at the heavy rain. You have to make sure you warm yourself immediately after you get home, Mr. Westley!”

Westley, on the other hand, still felt uncomfortable about the whole

situation.

Mason went ahead and got into the car. Then, he looked at Westley

and said, “Get in!”

The moment Westley got in it, he explained himself to Mason. “I didn’t do anything to her! She’s the one who kept badgering me.”

Seeing Dewetta tonight had made him think about his aunt Lila. He couldn’t help but say, “It seems you’re quite the charmer!”

Westley was a little embarrassed at what he said.

Luke giggled and said, “Indeed, you are, Mr. Westley! You could charm the pants off any lady of your choosing.” With that, he closed the car door. Then, he got into the driver’s seat and pulled the black Bentley out of the place.

Silence hung over the car. All they could hear was the sound of raindrops.

Westley still felt uncomfortable about the situation.

Looking out the window, Mason said softly, “You’ll spend the night in my place. We can talk about the rest tomorrow.”

Then, Westley uttered, “My pills! I haven’t had time to take them.”

Mason looked at him briefly before he knocked on the back of the driver’s seat and ordered Luke, “Take us to his apartment!”

The old chauffeur nodded. “On it!”

Twenty minutes later, the black Bentley parked at Westley’s

apartment.

Westley was about to get out of the car, but Mason said dryly, “Give me the keys! I’ll get you your pills.”

Westley remained quiet for a brief moment before giving his son the keys.

Stepping out of the car, Mason dived into the staircase. At the next

moment, the lights came on above him.

Opening the door to his father’s unit, all of the lights inside came on, making his job much easier. Not long after, he found the bottle of pills on the coffee table.

It just so happened that Westley didn’t tighten the bottle cap, so the bottle toppled and some of the pills spilled out.

He bent down to pick them up. All of a sudden, he gripped the tiny pill and frowned slightly..

Wait a minute! Something was wrong with this pill…
